I've had a lot of dental work done in my lifetime (I'm old LOL) in many different dentists' offices and had many experiences. Dr. Bounds and his staff are amazing. I would definitely consider his office among the best I've ever been a patient in, and I feel so lucky to have found him through my general dentist. I've had extensive procedures done there, including a bone graft and sinus lift, as well as four implants. I can't imagine having this work done anywhere else. Dr. Bounds is experienced, professional, skilled, and very gentle. His bedside manner is excellent, which is so important in dentistry. I can't imagine having had my work done anywhere else. His office staff is very professional, they run on time, and are really, really friendly. It's always a pleasure to see them. Things run really smoothly there. Dr. Park is great. I had to do a gum graft and understandably not looking forward to it at all. He quickly numbed the areas topically and I felt NOTHING when he injected the anesthesia which is hard to believe ... thereafter the process was smooth, efficient and totally pain free. He is reassuring during the procedure and answered my questions as we went along (learned a lot about the whole thing). He is a really great and I do recommend him highly. Recently I had a gum crafting (because of the gum recession) here by Dr. Park. He was excellent and really beyond my expectations. I did the same surgery at another clinic once before which was completely a failure. My new dentist recommended this clinic and it turned out super successful! Dr. Park was very nice and patient. He spent time answering my questions, explained the principle of the surgery and told me how to take care of my gum later on. Most importantly, his technique was fantastic! I can't believe it was the same surgery I did before, it looked totally different. All the other staff were very nice too, the whole clinic was well organized. He handled my first implant in 2017 and I was so impressed with his professionalism and caring manner that when I needed a second implant, there was no question but that I'd use his services again. I usually ignore reviews on medical care because I am in the field and reviews can be so complicated and not even based on true care and expertise. But I felt as if I had to write how grateful I am for the work that Dr. Bounds did on my tooth extraction. I had to remove a molar that was in bad shape after work from another dentist had really messed it up. It was a very difficult extraction- last molar in the back, tooth partially chipped already. I was prepared to have a complicated piece by piece extraction. Dr Bounds (who was recommended by my new dentist) was so professional, calm, and reassuring (but also realistic) that he would try to remove the molar in one piece as best as he could. I was adequately numbed, and they started the process. Dr. Bounds was SOOO patient and determined to get the molar out in one piece. He worked on pulling the tooth for nearly an HOUR! Any other person would have cut their losses and broken it apart to make it quicker and easier. But with patience, he was able to take it out in one piece!! And it was not easy. Subsequent care was great- very professional staff, quick times to be seen, and clean facilities. If you want someone who will take the time to do the job right, see Dr. Bounds- you will not be disappointed! read more

Dr. Bounds was highly recommended, and I am glad he performed my surgery. He removed two front teeth roots, did biogide, bone replacement and two dental implants. Highly professional; explained in detail all procedures, and answered all questions. Invoice was self explanatory and broken down to be understood. While his quoted price was higher then average, it included all x-rays during the surgery and post care, which works for me. Front office staff was pretty good, too. read more

Dr. Bounds has done many incredible surgeries in my mouth. Implants, tissue grafts, bovine grafts. He is now doing my 4th implant. He is so very gentle and patient. He explains everything, options included. He keeps my local dentist informed. I used to live in Irvine, but now live in Oceanside and still go to Dr. Bounds for periodontal work. Gums are gross, especially when they're sliced, diced, grafted and stitched. If you're in the market for a periodontist, Dr. Bounds is your man. Not only is he highly skilled, he's incredibly personable - the type of person you'd want to have do your soft tissue grafting, socket preservation, crown lengthening, bone regeneration, sinus augmentation or dental implants (fyi, I didn't have all that done). Minus one star because someone in his office didn't contact my pharmacy like she said she would pre-surgery for my Vicodine prescription (tisk, tisk). I received a very expensive quote and eventually they talked me into having a procedure done on my gums. When the job was completed they told me I had to pay nearly $500.00 more than what they quoted me, after my insurance paid their share. And the cost is ridiculous for the minuscule amount of work actually performed. They charged me $1500 for 2 hrs work and I provided all of the materials necessary to complete the job (the skin off of the roof of my own mouth) Do not trust this firm to treat you fairly. They are very greedy and over priced. read more

Great place. I had a dental urgency and I was able to get scheduled same day surgery. Great staff- they explained everything in full detail- on the billing,broke it all down and gave me true expectations of what to expect out of pocket and procedure wise. Dr Bounds is a great Doctor who explained the procedures step-by-step. He gave me expectations of what I was going to feel and gave me a packet of instructions to take home along with an ice pack, toothbrush and even gave me a chocolate shake to take with my pain medicine because I had not eaten all day. I have to say, he has a gentle hand because the numbing injections didn't hurt and he was very patient with me knowing I had anxiety. The office is super sparkly clean, modern,smells clean and looks amazing everything is sparkly white. It's the perfect place for anyone needing periodontal care or oral surgery. I really liked Dr. Bounds. I went for a consultation and found him to be calm, serious, and a great listener. I tried to push a procedure on him, but he politely but firmly denied, saying that my gums would not stay where I wanted them to be. So he was honest, which I highly value. read more

I was referred to Dr. Bounds by my dentist. I had severe gum erosion and bone loss. Dr. Bounds did a transplant; he cut tissue from my upper palate and grafted it onto the gum. He did an amazing job and I very highly recommend him. I've had grafts done in the past; I wish I had known about Dr. Bounds then, I would have gone to him. He had his dental assistants make a temporary mouth guard to put on my upper teeth; the guard had a horizontal part in the back, to protect the area on my upper palate where he cut the tissue. In addition, he put a protective layer on top of the sutures. read more

I was referred to Dr. Bounds by my dentist Dr. Otsu who was closed due to Covid19 and a fire in his office. I went in for a teeth cleaning. I called ahead and checked that they took my insurance and was told they did. I was very happy with my teeth cleaning and went on my way. This was June 18, 2020. I got a bill for a periodontal teeth cleaning which my insurance would not cover as I have no history of periodontal issues. As of today I have spoken to Brianne 11 times. Nothing has been resolved. I have a Delta Dental Priemere Policy that covers 90% of teeth cleaning. My bill from Dr. Bounds is for $122.80. My insurance would only pay $43.00 of the $166 bill. I explained 11 times to Brianne that my insurance would only cover a "regular" cleaning. Brianne has submitted the claim 3 times to try to get it covered but Insurance won't pay as it not a regular cleaning. At no time was I ever told I was getting anything besides a regular cleaning. I have asked her to please have Dr. Bounds call me to resolve this. I have gotten nowhere. I told her this morning I would be writing a review on Yelp and filing a grievance with my Insurance company. This is awful customer service and very disappointing. I am trying to resolve this. This is very upsetting to me as I have never not paid a bill and don't appreciate being charged a late fee and told it will go to collection. I'm trying to resolve this with no help from DR. Bounds office. Hopefully he'll read this and be as upset as I am about how I've been treated. This needs to be addressed. read more
