You can't give beer history anything less than a 5, unless you were left hoping to see more of their brewing process. You'll learn all about how beer really came to be in America. You get enough tastings to keep a buzz alive, and you'll understand why Milwaukee is "Cream City." The caves are worth it on their own. I wish they had opened more doors so we could see more of the brewing process, which, despite paying for a more elevated tour, I did not get to see. Their gift shop is a little on the dry side. But overall, taking a Miller tour during your visit to Milwaukee is a good idea, as you will learn more than you knew before.

Came for the tour. It is part indoor/outdoor, you get to go inside the Miller Inn, the caves, and bottling facilities. I wish we got to enjoy more of our samples at the Miller Inn, which looks like a old German beer hall, rather than the main visiting center which is more corporate. Don't forget your IDs (they seemed to card all ages).

We arrived to the first tour on a Monday with only a handful of people on the tour. It was nice to not be crowded as we weren't sure how many people would make it that early on a Monday. Wonderful history lessons and a beautiful walk through the facility made this a very fun tour. I would definitely do it again.

They are closed on Wednesdays & we came when they opened Thursday morning at 10:00, too early for me to have a beer. It wasn't enough time for a brief tour, but some good photos and a run through a huge gift shop. The film was interesting about the history of the family and brewery. I didn't realize that blue moon and part of the Miller thing. Founded in 1855, this historic facility preserves Milwaukee's beer legacy. We lined up for the free, hour long tour. We traveled through the mass produced factory where 2000 cans are filled very minute & half a million cases are waiting to be shipped. We ended the tour with 3 full size samples.

What time is it? It's Miller Time! Those words ring true at the Miller Brewery Tour. It's not free, so keep that in mind, but the $20 was well worth it. There were 4 beer samples along the way which probably equates to 2 regular beers. I booked a tour online, but I get the sense that a lot of people show up for the tour and buy in person. I was worried about it being sold out, and would rather be safe than sorry. There is a LOT of walking and stair climbing on this tour (with one stop about 3-4 stories up, but there was an option to stay downstairs). You don't need to be in great shape, but be mindful of the amount of walking if you're planning on doing this tour. You get to hear about the history of Miller Beer, learn about the different buildings on-site, smell the yeasty goodness of the fermentation, visit the caves where they used to keep the beer cool, and see how they pack everything up (if they're working that day). The tour took about 90 minutes and was informative, fun, and it was a nice walking workout! I highly recommend this tour!

What a great tour! We had Cory as our tour guide. First of all, his voice was born to do this! What a great personality. Kind, funny, and informative. We loved learning about the history and process. Great tastings along the way. Tastings: Miller lite Miller high life Blue moon Then two of your choice Plus a free gift from the gift shop All for $20 is a good deal!

Been to lots of craft breweries, so we wanted to see a big one. Unlike the craft places you dont actually get to be down where the work is, but the shear volume of product being made is amazing. The tour guide was great, the tour itself was good & it was a fun time.

I can't say it loud enough how GREAT of a tour this was!!! First of all, I hope you get the Tour Guide named Reese, you will have the BEST tour! Very knowledgeable about everything, being able to answer every question I had. The tour has quite a bit of walking, but I had no issue going the whole time in flip flops. You get a sample right before you head enroute. Then another sample along the way. At the end, you find yourself at their outside bar (large covering over it and the seating) with 2 more free samples of whatever product they have out there. Both my samples at the bar were FULL SIZE cans, making that worth the tour alone! Though Reese made it SUPER interesting the entire time. And I even got a heavy duty bottle opener with the Miller logo on it as my souvenir. Overall 10/10 recommendation!

Great tour and our tour guide was very engaging and funny. Enjoyed hearing the history of the brewery. I've been on a number of tours before and this doesn't blow you out of the water, but it's good nonetheless.

Great mix of new and old. 5$3 cave tour was amazing. Tour guide (James) was AWESOME. Just long/short enough to learn something and have fun.

Fun tour to learn about the history and campus Miller has in Milwaukee! My boyfriends will be starting a new job with the company this summer so it was cool to see where he'll be working and more about the processes. We asked some random questions due to this and all the staff did a great job answering them. It is a decent amount of walking and a big walk up some flights of stairs so keep that in mind. However, the samples make up for it. You get 3 samples throughout the tour then end with 2 more in the main area. The last two are full drinks so keep that in mind when figuring out transportation. You also get a "free" bottle opener at the end from the gift shop which is nice. Would recommend for the price!

This is my second time completing the Miller Brewery Tour. Milwaukee is the town famous for beer, and this is the best and busiest brewery tour around. The tour is about $20, almost double the price from my last visit, but it's well worth it because you get 5 beer samples throughout the tour. (3 smaller ones and 2 full size.). While you're waiting for your tour there is a timeline with photos all along the lobby wall. They also have props if you want to take selfies, and a massive gift shop where you can buy everything from shoes, socks, hats, shirts, toys, holiday decorations, etc., and with every brand logo that is part of the MillerCoors family. There is also a locker area because you can't bring a purse along on the tour. Not sure why?? There is a nominal fee for locker rental, which I feel should be free since you're already paying to go on the tour! No one told us this rule either; we just happened to notice the lockers while we were waiting.) Our tour guide was Mike, and he was extremely knowledgeable with the history and brewing operations of Miller Coors. You could also see that he was passionate about his job. The tour started in a theater where there was a short film that explained the Miller family history. (And a fresh sample of Miller Lite.) We then went down the street to the brew kettles, the historic caves, and the Miller Inn. (We sampled Miller High Life in the caves and Blue Moon in the Miller Inn.). The cave was super cool and we learned how it was used to cool the beer in the earliest days, before modern refrigeration, and later served as a restaurant. There were many Miller artifacts down there including soda bottles and a tonic bottle from prohibition days. The final part of the tour included a visit to the production line and a warehouse. We could watch Coors being packaged on the assembly line and see pallets of dozens of products wrapped up and ready to be shipped out to their retail destinations. The Miller facility is huge and you actually learn a great deal about Miller and all the brands they've squired in addition to the beer making process in general. The final stop is at the bar where you can choose 2 more samples. On the day we visited they had Miller High Life, Lite, Blue Moon, Hamm's, and Peroni on tap along with some cans of seasonal Leinenkugel's, seltzer beverages, and soft drinks. We enjoyed our tour and it lasted about 1.5 hours. If you are a beer fan or are visiting Milwaukee.....don't miss it! You won't be disappointed.

However, the presentation itself could have been more polished - there were several moments where information was forgotten or counting had to be redone, which made the tour feel a bit disorganized. By…read moreall means, get yourself down to Pier Wisconsin pronto and take a sail on the Denis Sullivan. In my mind, this is one of the most amazing experiences the city of Milwaukee offers. Hands down! The Denis Sullivan is a 140-foot sailing vessel that is a recreation of an 1890s cargo vessel. It has space for 50 on its upper deck, three full sails, and three jib sails on the mast. There's a lower compartment that has a head (bathroom), sleeping quarters, kitchen mess, and a gift shop. An exhibit that is part of Discovery World, your ticket buys you a two-hour tour during the summer. Truly, if boating is your thing, this is an amazing must-do. My family and I took the tour recently and we had a blast. The six of us spanned ages from 2 to 73. We all enjoyed it equally. My two year old great niece enjoyed the fact that she had room to roam around to her liking. She wandered everywhere happily. We got pictures of her steering the boat on the rear wheel that controlled the rudder. All of us enjoyed the performance by the ships cast of 8 crew members. They involved all 50 of us on board in a discussion about safety, then gave commands to hoist all of the sails once we had motored comfortably away from the pier and cut the engine. The ropes and sails were neatly and precisely tucked away in a manner any experienced sailor will tell you is proper. Along with other guests, my great niece and her dad helped hoist the sail, and my niece was fascinated with pulling rope for the rest of the trip, "helping" the crew in her own fashion. The crew was on hand to answer questions and quite hospitable with the guests. "This boat is a fiberglass magnet," one crew member told my family, pointing to the boats that pulled up alongside our vessel. They also noted that the boat was weighted in a manner that if it tipped, it would pop back up - a good feature to have on a sailboat that can lean in the wind. A wonderful bonus occurred when two of the crew pulled out a banjo and a fiddle and performed bluegrass music, singing and clapping. My great niece danced and the rest of us enjoyed the performance. The pristine view of Milwaukee's skyline and lakefront is unparalleled. The breeze is cooling and comfortable and the sail is a most enjoyable thing to do on a weekend. Take a trip on the Denis Sullivan. You won't regret it!

I can understand the desire to open to the public as soon as possible, but paying $16 for a lot of unfinished exhibits bothered me slightly. That said, there are some wonderful things in this building, which now houses Discovery World, as well as the Pier Wisconsin aquarium and a permanent home for the Denis Sullivan sailboat. The highlight of the aquarium is a tunnel where fish swim a few feet over your head. The glass is so smooth and clear that from certain angles it feels as if you are viewing the image of fish on a hi-definition screen, not actual fish swimming a few feet over your head in a spectacular mega-tank. There is also an open tank for petting small (barbless) stingrays and other fish. We didn't have tons of time to see Discovery World, but needless to say this place is an educational kids heaven. Everything is designed to be touched, felt and understood. In the new (unfinished) techno-jungle area, lots of hip 20-somethings in white lab coats helped kids play and understand a hovering people mover, an inra-red camera, a storm simulator, and best of all, a virtual reality control that led through the streets of Milwaukee. I unfortunately walked right off the bridge over Lincoln Memorial Drive to the Art Museum before surrendering the control to an actual child. Overall, I think Milwaukee has done very well for itself here. The location is amazing, parking easy (underground), the aquarium spectacular and views from the edge of the building are indeed among the best of Milwaukee's lakeside skyline.
