    Bonsai Garden

A beautiful and well maintained gem in Avon. On a recent visit home my family and I came here to check out the gardens. The parking lot in the back is paved and provides plenty of parking for guests. The gardens are broken into outdoor gardens, the butterfly house, and an indoor section with a greenhouse. All of the park is beautifully maintained. The outdoor section includes a rose garden and a small pond. The butterfly house is one of the best parts of the gardens and not to be missed. The greenhouse section had a diverse range of plants and a bonsai garden on the patio. I enjoyed every section of the garden. The indoor area has a small shop where you'll pay a nominal fee to access the green house area. Attached to the shop is also an event room and it looks like the facility can host weddings. I'd imagine this would be a lovely place for a wedding.

Flowers, butterflies, and succulents - oh my! What a nice component of the local park system. We enjoyed time at this spot one afternoon while visiting family in the area. The butterfly house was a hit with everyone in our group. A one room exhibit (outside but enclosed), butterflies abounded and they were beautiful. The flowers in the butterfly house were great and there are stickers for children - always a hit. The grounds are replete with gorgeous flowers and water features. Walking around outside is serene. The inside building houses a lot of succulents and other plants, many of which are tropical. And, there is a parrot in the greenhouse, too! When we visited the butterfly house and the grounds were free, the succulent house was $2.00. Our visit was fairly quick - you can choose exactly how long you stay. There are a few food items available for purchase and a beautiful outdoor sitting area in the garden where folks were eating.

Mom and daughter were visiting from Virginia. I learned via Facebook about their candy land game live action. We theroughly enjoyed it. The game was fun... just really crowded. It made game play a little challenging between families but it was still fun! They have a parent named Echo (too busy to snap a pic) he is always a crowd pleaser too.

This is a little piece of heaven. I absolutely love going here. The grounds are beautiful and it is small enough that anyone can manage the walk around the gardens. There is a small butterfly house open in the summer months. The Orchid Cafe is on the premises but does not have regular hours as it is often rented for private events. Do yourself a favor and stroll these gorgeous grounds. It will give you an inner peace we all can do with in this day and age.

Looking for a place to take pictures for your wedding and don't want to risk the weather? This place is definitely it. For a nominal fee you have to run of the place. We went right after Thanksgiving so it was decked out for Christmas and looked really pretty. It's a small location, so more than 15 in your group might feel a little crowded. It's basically a large greenhouse with nooks and crannies. It's also great just to take your kids there to get some plant education. I bet it's really pretty in summer and they even have a butterfly room that I would definitely go back for. Admission regularly is only $2. You can't beat that with a stick!

    We love this park!

This is the coolest park! There's an orchid collection, butterfly house, gorgeous flowers, a pond with lilies & toads, herb garden and a HUGE greenhouse! The grounds are pristine there's also a cafe- but it was closed when we were there. Highly recommend this park!

My son loved the holiday scavenger hunt!

Fun place to enjoy a relaxing few hours with the family during the holidays. Their Dr. Seuss theme was super cute!
