Liberty University is flush with money. They have new buildings every where and the development…read morecontinues. The combo Liberty Natatorium with track and field all under one roof is impressive and will turn three in 2020. The facility is home to Liberty University Flames Swim team. The location is not far from campus. Surface parking is adequate for large events such as the last meet I attended Virginia Long Course Championships. There is a pull up for athlete drop off, but no over hang in inclimate weather. The 50 meter Olympic size pool with platform diving and well is an excellent facility. The deck is wide offering lots of space for athletes to sit and move. Cost are often cut to reduce space. Pool temps were correct as well as air temps comfortable. Air quality very good. The digital scoreboard is a highlight. However there are negatives such as the cave atmosphere with little natural lighting. The spectator seating is a hot mess and not designed well for viewing at all. Staffing has improved over the three visits. The first year was rough on running meets. There were multiple issues and a major headline in national news with the timing system. All of this is worked out and last I heard a new Omega timing system was being ordered. I'm a fan of the Natatorium and will likely return in Summer 2020. This is a swimmers pool, not a spectators pool which is disappointing to not have both. They still get high marks from me.

Only giving two stars, because it's a new year for me. I am used to being a member at another pool,…read morewhich will remain nameless, but this one is about 5 minutes closer, and my sons friends from school had a membership here this year, and he wanted to spend more time with them. I paid the SAME price for a membership as I did the other pool I was a member at, so that's first. Same price. However, this pool is not very clean. Upon entering, its very rundown looking, cracked paint, chipped everything, and the parking lot is uneven and bumpy. There are trees and brush everywhere. It looks like it needs MONTHS worth of maintenance. Then you walk in, and the staff aren't very friendly to be honest. They are mainly teenagers, who give you an "I don't wanna be here" attitude. Let's talk bathrooms. I went and got my shoes because it looked like someone had smeared poop all over the floor. This was just the first time. The next weekend, every single toilet had poop, pee, and wads of toilet paper and even stains on the toilet seat. I opted to go home just to pee. It stunk very badly also. No mats on the floor, so be careful, or you'll slip. My daughters friend said the men's bathroom was equally gross. Inside: No lounge chairs. Just hard plastic chairs like you would find at Walmart. The umbrellas for the tables are old and have holes in them and stains, and the tables are plastic and wobbly. The rest are wooden picnic tables, which isn't too comfortable for a day at the pool. Several trash cans, but only near the entrance. Inside, you also have the same landscape issue. There isn't a clean concrete place around the pool. It's full of pebbles, leaves, and rocks. It honestly could use a good sweeping. Paint is also chipping. Lifeguards? My kids are teens, as a stated, but I've noticed the lifeguards more concerned with having their friends sit near them during their shift and talking, than watching the pool. Example, people with huge rafts just bumping into everyone. I don't mind the rafts, but when it's their friends just sitting there while they "work" it's annoying. Long story short.... I'll be finishing out my membership here, sadly, and then going back to my MUCH NICER, MUCH cleaner, pool next year. I honestly don't even like coming due to the lack of cleanliness, and nowhere to sit. If you want to lay down, it has to be on concrete, and chances are, you're going to be laying on gravel/pebbles. Oh, and the slide for the kids? Unsafe. Very wobbly. My son wouldn't go down it again. The whole thing shook. It would take seconds to tighten the bolts.

From the owner: Fun for the whole family. Come enjoy our 220,000 gallon pool with two diving boards and a kids…read moreslide. We also have a full service snack bar available with everything from burgers and chicken fingers to ice cream available.

This was quite the interesting find on our trip to Roanoke. We traveled to Roanoke right in the…read moremiddle of Covid, and planned to spend time at our hotel's pool, but, well, covid...and the hotel pool was closed. We searched to see if there were any public pools open in the area (preferably outdoors to help with social distancing), and came across the North Roanoke Swim Club. It fit the bill- it was a pool, it was public, it was outdoors, it was reasonably priced (especially if you went later in the afternoon, which was fine for us). It is a little weird to come upon a public pool smack dab in the middle of a subdivision, but we felt relatively safe, as it wasn't particularly crowded, so we could keep our distance from other patrons since masks don't really make much sense in a pool. There wasn't a lot as far as extras-a water slide (that looked a little wobbly for my taste when others went down it), and a covered picnic area that was being set up for a birthday party while we were there, but, if a pool is what you're looking for...a pool you shall find!

I previously had payed a deposit for an after hours pool party. The deposit was $100.00, the party was going to be $300.00. After everything that happend which made it impossible for us to go on with the party, I had to cancel. This cancellation is well within notice. We had paid our deposit two weeks prior, and recieved a receipt. Susan, one of the owners had emailed me back "Im so sorry to hear that. But we would have to keep the deposit. Good luck, Susan". If it would have indicated anywhere on the Website, Application or any Emails that it was non refundable, I wouldnt have been so shocked. There's nothing indicating that the deposit is non refundable anywhere at all. There is one small "underlined link" that says "pool rules" that you can not click, or find anywhere on the website. I would understand if I had canceled a week before, but there is no available information. Be weary when booking a party, there is no clear information, or a contract to sign. I am out $100.00 which may not seem like much to most, but for my husband and I, it's alot of money. I didn't expect compassion from these wealthy owners, but I do expect a clear written agreement, or at the very least clear terms and conditions on the website or application. They got us for $100.00. Pure Greed, and Sheisty buisiness from wealthy owners.
