I give ATI higher than a 5 star rating. My experience with the Durham location of ATI in Tigard has…read morebeen great. The atmosphere is relaxed even though there is a bustle of activity with patients doing movements and therapists directing. It is run like a symphony. Speaking of music, they have upbeat music with a good, happy rhythm at the perfect volume making it easy to do my exercises and help with the counting of reps/sets. The gym is a comfortable temp. There is a noticeable positive vibe. Everyone who works there are professional, pleasant, friendly, helpful and serve the patient. The atmosphere is clean and crisp. I am able to communicate clearly with my therapist, Paul Ragucci. He does a custom program for my injury and checks in with me at the beginning of my appointment and then decides how he will direct me according to my body during that session. He explains what to do and what muscles we are focusing on so I feel I can help myself as he helps me to heal. I trust his expertise. There is good pacing to the flow of the tasks. I appreciated Paul's positive style with compassion on my intake interview evaluation as I answered questions and told my story. I immediately felt supported as Paul talked about our goals of both the reduction of pain and the gain of mobility as our goal, along with strengthening not only my injured muscles but the muscles around the injured area. I value ATI's expertise with my care. I have formed a level of trust in my therapist. He directs me at the pace my body can handle any given moment adding specific exercises as I increase my strength. It is all about effort without strain under his instruction. Each session is of great benefit. I honor myself and do my homework exercise plan developed by Paul facilitating my part in the recovery. I consider him my teacher/coach to do the moves correctly. With this knowledge I feel confident that my healing is here for me with Paul and the ATI support team. I highly recommend ATI. My personal opinion is formed by years of past experience of receiving therapy and with therapists at other facilities. I was in a head-on crash and also a rear end crash with multiple injuries and years of recovery and repair surgeries. This group of professionals work as a team. With their attention I am healing and getting better. They serve and they care.

I was so excited about this place after my free consultation. They seemed to have a great approach…read moreto physical therapy, offering solutions for mobility and injury prevention in addition to more traditional strengthening protocols. During my first appointment, I did a consultation with Jessica. We spoke about my history with knee pain from skiing, and then moved into an assessment on the table. Without any kind of prep, she initiated muscle scraping on my entire leg, which was one of the most painful things I've had to endure. She said nothing to the effect of "we're about to do some muscle scraping, are you familiar with this?" or "this may be painful" or "it can cause pretty serious bruising and tenderness." She just got the tools and went right in. It was excruciating, and I found the total lack of preparation unprofessional and alarming. I was left with huge bruises up and down my leg for days; this was 2 days before a birthday trip where I'd be in a bathing suit, during which I had a massage I needed to cancel due to the tenderness of the massive bruises. Had I been prompted about the severity of this procedure, I likely would have declined or opted for a less intense massage approach (which was what I had explicitly asked for in my consultation and the beginning part of my assessment with Jessica, as massage therapy has helped me a great deal before). My first visit ended with some ultrasound therapy, which was more pleasant. Despite the intensity of the scraping, I was at least interested in the fact that this PT (the fourth clinic I've been to in 2 years) was performing more manual therapy than the others. I figured that I would give it a shot. At my second visit, we did more muscle scraping, and no ultra sound therapy. I was quickly passed off to another therapist to do some hip strengthening exercises, and halfway through she had to ask me which side my injury was on. She didn't seem super prepared to help me, and then brought me to the front desk to wrap up my appointment with 20 minutes still left in the hour. That appointment cost me $168, as my insurance does not cover PT until after I've hit my deductible, so I was feeling a bit shortchanged. I asked if I could be charged for fewer PT units due to the shorter appointment, and the therapist instead took me back to do some stretching. I had arrived to my second appt with some hip pain, and the therapist showed me a stretch that aggravated that pain. Upon telling her that I was in pain, and not in a tight muscle kind of way, she said "yeah, you'll feel that" and dismissed it. I left that appointment in more pain than when I arrived. I am super disappointed in the care I received here.

The amount of time and compassion they provide you in each session is by far better than any other officer I have ever been to. They take time to truly help address each individual need. I have a laundry list that they are helping me with and I couldn't be happier with the care they have provided. I would highly recommend Tigard Physical Therapy.
