For multiple years I suffered from severe planar fasciitis, I couldn't walk without limping, the pain was excruciating and I stopped enjoying life. All I could bare was going to work and doing things that needed to be done. Over the course of a year I was treated by 2 podiatrists, another PT clinic (referred by one of the podiatrists) and finally ended up having surgery on both feet. Post-Surgery the pain was barely alleviated, the pain was still awful. Approximately 6 months after surgery I decided to try Therapydia. I had read several great reviews on multiple platforms and decided to give them a try. Best health decision I've made. I initially booked my appt at the Portland office because it's much closer. My first appointment was with Kirsten, she performed manual therapy and greatly reduced my pain. Kirsten works at the Lake Oswego location but was filling in Portland on my first visit. Because of how knowledgeable and how well her manual therapy and exercises she gave me worked, I started making the commute to the Lake Oswego location. After 2 months of seeing Kirsten the pain was mostly gone and I was able to start doing the things I love again. I felt like I got my life back. I've been back for other pain issues, had problems with pain in my right elbow/arm/wrist and with manual therapy and exercises the pain went away quickly. I was having similar issues with my left arm. After several weeks of treatment I was not progressing as far as I should so she recommended that I see a Sports Medicine Dr to get X-rays or MRI so she could design a better recovery plan. With the MRI she was able help me recover after another month of therapy. I appreciate her honesty. Things that I love about this clinic: 1. The therapists are highly skilled and very knowledgeable, I was amazed at how Kirsten knew the root cause of my pain in multiple occasions and her treatments work with no medication! 2. They don't book appointments overlapping each other so you get one-on-one care 3. Margaret the Office Manager is always very cheerful and helpful. She's very organized and anytime I have a billing question she gets back to me quickly. 4. Billing is quick and now you can pay your bill online. 5. Prices are very reasonable and consistent. 6. They are very ethical, if the treatment isn't working like they expected they will refer you. I trust the therapists here. 7. Parking is great, big shared parking lot. I highly recommend this clinic, it's a much better approach to pain and surgery (if it can be avoided) or post-surgery therapy. They have a high standard of care. I found Therapydia through a recommendation from a massage therapist. I had been dealing with sciatic nerve pain for approximately three months. After my first visit to Therapydia-- I seriously questioned why I waited so long. When I called (at my wits end), I was greeted by the kindest person named Casey. He took some initial information, immediately handled my insurance questions, and was unbelievably responsive. In about a day or two I was already on the schedule and began working with Jennifer. Immediately, Jennifer conducted an initial evaluation and put a plan in place. It was as though she had magical fingers. She was able to pinpoint the source of pain and focused on the healing process. I have progressed so quickly and felt relieve almost right away. Determined to work hard to recover... Jennifer put in place additional exercises to help me progress while not in the therapy session. On every visit -- if I had a question regarding form, etc. She would patiently answer and make sure that I feel confident I was doing the proper stretches and exercises while not under her good care. Both Jennifer and Casey would provide me with printouts that would illustrate the exact exercises and stretches so that I could take them with me. As a visual learner... Jennifer would actually show me a specific form to make sure there would be no further injury caused by improper form. She also listened to every word of feedback regarding where I felt pain, etc. Not only did she make it better... She made me feel like a partner in the recovery process. To say that I 'skipped' out of therapy every time is not an exaggeration. Also, I have a very busy work/ travel schedule. Each week Casey patiently works with me to accommodate my work schedule and has been a true help in that regard. As a kicker... They even have a sweet dog named Dozer who greet you at the door and the therapy immediately begins. To find good therapy with people who are genuinely kind and caring is a rare find. Without reservation, I recommend Therapydia to all. My progress and recovery has been amazing and I thankful to Therapydia/Jennifer for all their help. So are my children... Where do I even begin.. Therapydia is amazing. I have been seeing Jay every week for the past few months. I am a spin instructor and my body can get out of whack pretty quickly. Since I've been going to Therapydia, they not only treat your injuries but they help you prevent them from reoccurring. I am continually impressed by how knowledgeable, friendly, fun, and professional their entire staff is. Also, let's talk about migraines... I started getting migraines about 4 years ago. If you've had one before, you know how debilitating they are. I have tried just about everything you could think of to combat them, I have never had a solution that truly works for me. One week ago I was unable to squat more than a few inches without serious low back pain. Flashback to 8 weeks ago when I strained my back. Over the course of the next 7 weeks I continued to workout even though I was slowly feeling worse to the point where I could hardly walk, drive or get dressed. I had never been in so much pain with the exception of child birth. My MRI showed I have a L3-L4 disc rupture and L4-L5 disc herniation. Two weeks ago I had my first physical therapy appointment with Jay at Therapydia, Portland. In less than a week my pain was nearly diminished and after my 4th session I am able to do an air squat, get dressed nearly normally, sit in my car with no pain and shave my legs! Therapydia is the best!!!!! The overall care is outstanding. The office and support staff are so helpful. I could go on and on forever about all the great things, but I will share two highlights. 1. I am out of network, so every visit really does count. I was making slow progress with one therapist. We had a heart to heart about the slow progress, and decided to spread visits out. Jay heard about this, and wanted another pair of eyes on me. I went in the next day for a consultation with him. It was great to get more opinions, and brains working together. The therapists at Therapydia will not let out of network payments be the reason for you not to come. They care, and will do whatever it takes to help you. 2. I was making great progress, until one day I woke up with horrible new pain. I texted Jay to see if I was okay to go to work, or what I should do. He CALLED me within 2 min of my text at 6:20am. I have had chronic back pain for almost 30 years. Kurt Gilbertson at Therapydia is the first Physical Therapist (out of a half dozen I have tried over the years) to help ease my pain and teach me how to manage it on a long-term basis. He's super friendly and eminently professional. When I came to him at Therapydia, I was in some of the worst pain I have ever had. Not only was my back hurting, but my legs were half numb and some of the nerves in my legs felt like they were burning. After the first session with Kurt, my pain had lessened quite a bit. Over the course of our sessions together, he stopped the pain and numbness, and taught me exercises to re-teach my body how to properly walk and move - to the point where I'm now able to regularly work out both with cardio and lifting weights. One of the most crucial things he taught me was how to manage the pain long term. He showed me how to take remedial steps when I do have a flare up, and how to keep it from getting worse when I feel the first twinge. I cannot express how thankful I am for this place! I was dealing with some pretty intense back pain for a few weeks and couldn't stretch it out myself and finally one day when I was tired of not being able to tie my shoes without pain, I came in. Jay and the staff at Therapydia have made it so that I am completely pain free and have been for the past couple months. I have had a partially torn Medial Patellofemoral Ligament in my knee for the past four to five years due to multiple ruptures and dislocations playing club soccer, and it had been a nagging injury for quite some time. Coming back from rotator cuff surgery has been quite a journey, and with thanks to Jay and his sessions, it was a successful one for me! I went in to Therypedia for an emergency check up after injuring my knee on Travel. I do Crossfit and work out 5 - 6 days per week. The injury was a result of over training and incorrect movement - I know this because Therypedia worked with me to determine the specific movements that led to the injury, which they determined in one visit. They also provided me with a range of recovery exercises and recommendations to aid in recovery. It turns out I had a strained MCL which took about 4 months to fully recover. I just competed in Bend at the Northwest fit games which included a 235 lb clean as well as snatches At 135 and running a mile. You could say I am recovered! Nikki will warmly welcome you when you step in the front door and take care of all the paperwork and appointments. I found them in their new location in Kruse Village, which is super convenient. I was seeing another PT for an injured shoulder last year and was making little progress so I stopped going. As my shoulder mobility decreased, I found this place, and really liked their philosophy. The intake appointment was very thorough and the PTs have a good understanding of what needs work. I know this because after only two weeks, I have a lot more mobility. I am extremely satisfied with the care I received at this Therapydia-- at first I thought I got lucky with Jodie McGinlay, PT as my therapist, but after sessions with some of the other Therapists, I quickly learned all of them were extremely competent. Not going to lie, when I went in I was skeptical they were going to be able to help me, but day 1 I was already feeling relief and confident that they would resolve my issue (nerve issue in arm). I've only had great experiences with the folks who work here, including admin staff. I've cycled through 2 therapists and both of them are awesome. My first therapist, Rachel, transferred to another location and she helped me through knee and shoulder injuries. She recommended that I continue my care with Jodie and I'm so happy that I did. I showed up at Therapydia with persistent and long term knee, neck and shoulder issues that that were limiting work and leisure activities. These issues, plus the fact that I am a grumpy old man, made me a challenging patient. Thankfully, Kirsten was up to the task at hand. She proved to be both extremely knowledge and extremely patient. I've thrown my lower back out 3 times in the last 6 months so I finally decided to do something about it. I was referred to Therapydia from a friend and it was the best thing ever. I had the pleasure of working with Kurt to rehab me after a leg fracture. Although it was hard work (as PT often is), he was so knowledgeable and skilled, I was thrilled with the progress we made week to week. And it wasn't just the exercises and the PT treatment -- Kurt understands that you have to bring the mind and the emotions along too. He patiently explained what muscles he was working on, why and how they were needing treatment, and assured me that all work we were doing was not going to "rebreak my leg," which of course is obvious but the letting go was an important step in the healing process.
