There were numerous transitions and surfaces changing in pitch and several hundred feet of ridge line. I stressed that quality was important for me. I did not want any short-cuts or sloppy work and use the best materials as required to get great results. They responded with a quote quickly. Their price was competitive Keep in mind your hiring the people doing the work not the guys with the biggest signs on billboards that never get on the roof. The man quoting the work will be doing the work. That is very valuable to me. they were able to work with my timeframe too. Through the project (to their surprise) I climbed all over the roof several times carrying bundles of shingles or other materials and assessing the workmanship from 2 feet away. I'm an engineer. That's right, the worst people to do work for, and I never even one time had a comment for them to fix something. In fact the owner, who gets on the roof and works all day, came to me to ask if they could redo a section he was not pleased with at his expense because the sun had melted the materials making them not look perfect. This meant they would have to come back an additional day to work in the near 100 degree august heat. Their cut lines are straight, the overhangs are consistent, they feather in the ridge shingles like they should. they stop and replace things that don't look right, they do a great job flashing in valleys and running straight ridges, they use caulk in all the places that need it. They even come back after it's all done to check in on how the shingles settled in with the sun! It's your roof and your money. Hire a marketing company if you want or do like I did and hire a roofing company.

We hired Brian because of his price but also because of our comfort level with him and the reviews from previous customers who had similar needs as our needs. After the work was scheduled, the crew from Cenvar arrived at the promised time and they worked diligently as a team to correct the issues we had with our current roofs per their proposal. Cenvar honored their estimate for repairs although they encountered unexpected issues which was not surprising for a structure that is 100 years old. My house in Albemarle County needed a new roof so I solicited bids from three contractors. Gary @…read moreVanguard Roofing was by far the quickest to come visit my house to see my needs. During the visit I particularly enjoyed Gary's in-depth evaluation of my current roof and how he would avoid some of the pitfalls in its installation if he were to replace it. Unfortunately, the other contractors took up to a month for their visit, which delayed my decision. Eventually, I chose Vanguard in no small part due to my experience with Gary. While he had left me some shingle samples after his initial visit, I chose to visit Vanguard's office in Madison to see more samples and discuss options with him. Originally, I had considered a shingle roof though I ultimately chose a metal one because of its appearance and durability. I also requested new skylights, gutters, and gutter guards. Gary warned me that while my roof could be replaced with a shingle one in a couple of days, replacing it with a metal roof one might take up to a couple of weeks. I was concerned that an intervening rainstorm might result in water leaking into my house after the shingles were removed but before their metal replacement was in place. Gary assured me that the water barrier that he'd install immediately after removing the shingles would prevent that. That assurance was severely tested as there were several significant rain and snow storms during the installation period. But there were no leaks. Ultimately, it took about five weeks for the installation due mainly to the snow storms that halted installation while we waited for the snow and ice to clear. Finally, the installation was complete and the roof looked great! The gutters looked pretty good too though I didn't like how the new black gutters interfaced near ground level with the white tops of my existing, mostly buried drainage system. I pointed this out to Gary during his final post-installation inspection and he responded that he wanted me to be happy and would make it right. A day later, one of his people returned and extended the black gutters completely into the ground, interfacing with my existing system below ground level and out of sight. Now the gutters looked great too! As nature would have it, the following spring we had a significant storm that dumped 1/2" hail on the roof. (We rarely get such storms.) Other than a lot of noise there was no damage to the roof and it continues to look great. There is no "oil-canning" anywhere on the roof that you sometimes see on other metal roofs. So count me as a very satisfied customer.

After a few years of being a good customer, patient, paying on time, never objecting to pricing, I **STILL** cannot get a response from him. One issue is that he's a one man show. It's him, or no one. His wife is lovely and accompanies him at times. Very knowledgeable herself. About 4 weeks ago I initiated contact and he responded immediately via text. Great, I thought. Then nothing. After a few more messages checking in, he said there was a family medical situation. I gave him space, and here we are two weeks and yet another text message to him later, and nothing. Nada. And still a leaking well tank. C'mon. Do better. We are done, hope you sort yourself out with other customers - I've seen several other people have had the same experience.

I have texts and emails that I requested them to come by 11:00 am because I was driving from Fredericksburg. They said ok, we will wait. Then while I was on my way, I called them several times and texted them updating my arrival which was 10:15am. They said, no problem. They started at 10:30 and charged me extra for 11/2 hours which I don't understand. Every item was packed in boxes and in ikea moving bags which they called plastic bags. The reason I packed in ikea bags so they are easy to carry and protected my items. I worked as hard as they did to make sure they don't complaint but the whole time they complained and advised me to trash my belongings. They gossiped with my sister complaining. I am a US citizen but foreigner who speaks in an accent. Their first question was; where are you from? They mistreated me, abused my belongings. Instead of two hours work which my other mover who loaded the truck completed in two hours, they did it in 5 hours because the whole time they were taking tea break and snack break and of course talking breaks. It was a 3 hours job but I got charged for extra hours and for their trip to my location which is beyond acceptable. They charge you over $175 just because they had to drive to your location. This business is a heartless scam. They are racists and prejudiced as well. I have documents saved up that they are scambugs and are liars. The movers handled my belongings very carelessly, and some of my very expensive items were broken and damaged due to the way furniture and boxes were stacked on top of them. Items were placed and piled without proper care, which caused significant damage. I also believe I was overcharged for the service provided and feel I was not charged fairly for what was done. Because of the situation, I had to hire another moving company to help undo the damage and assist in bringing my furniture down safely, which resulted in additional costs. Altogether, I suffered thousands of dollars in damages and losses. After I left my review, I received multiple calls from the company threatening legal action if I did not remove my review, which I felt was an attempt to pressure or intimidate me. I have photographic evidence and eyewitness accounts showing the condition of my belongings before and after the move. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Mighty Movers of Lynchburg.
