His last visit at the end of 2025 he had a different doctor and hygienist and he still did well. He stimmed some and had some hesitancy but overall did well. So I was caught off guard when the dentist said we should go to the main hospital for care moving forward. She cited some random health concern and that they had other"things" to help (which they don't). He's had the same issues since birth so it was very strange that this was brought up. However, it felt as if they didn't want to care for him anymore and that was enough for me to say "ok". Fast forward a few months and I get a reminder for an OT appointment there. Why would I keep an OT appointment if he is no longer welcome to have his dental care there? That just doesn't make sense. It's as if they want to showcase the "help" they have for kids but do not want to provide service for those children anymore. We absolutely loved going there until then and after speaking to a few moms in the Down Syndrome community, they received the same message at their appointments last year as well. I'm not sure if something has changed with the staff or what but I will no longer recommend them to families who have children with special needs. Just go to the Main Hospital as they've been fantastic as well and he still let them do everything just fine.

If you call with a problem about your experience, the office manager is rude, unprofessional, and she will hang up on you. At least she did me. I definitely do not recommend this place. They also continuously lie about what needs done on your teeth, constantly finding new problems that weren't there before just to keep your braces on "just a few more weeks." All the 5 star reviews are from bribing clients with a drawing for some new thing for everyone who gives them a 5 star review. I have never heard a good thing in person about their practice.

This man CARED about his patients!! If u had a question he would encourage u to call. He was there for his patients. He took the TIME he needed to make everyone feel COMFORTABLE. Comfortability is very big factor when it comes to dentistry. A lot of people have fears & r uncomfortable even walking in the door. So, making your patients feel comfortable is extremely important in this line of work. And Dr. Houy made u as comfortable as possible. Unfortunately Dr. Houy retired. So, I had to go w/ the other dentist. Dr. Gaga Sandu. At first I didn't get any bad vibes. Was he fast & tried to rush u out...YES! But, that was it (atp). Eventually, I had to get major dental surgery! Something that not only terrified me. But, I didn't know much about after care. I was supposed to get the surgery @ AGH & then return to Dr. Gaga Sandu after. Not only did Dr. Sandu cancel appointments w/o notifying me b4 showing up (prior to surgery). He also blatantly LIED TO ME, GASLIT me into thinking the hospitals ER offered something they didn't, & then when MISCOMMUNICATION was happening he refused to take ANY ACCOUNTABILITY & made me out to be some kinda incompetent fool!!!! I was able to get an Emergency appointment (no thanks to Dr. Sandu) & the HOSPITAL whom was ONLY SUPPOSED TO EXTRACT gave me an aftercare paper & told me to call my dentist for a follow up.
