This local shop is tucked in by the bookstore & liquor store stripmall and across from the restaurants, butcher and coffee on the 4 corners (as the locals call it in Ritchie). As it is a small shop (aka small bench inside), I usually grab a pint or if the weather is nice, a cup or cone to enjoy outside. There's some benches just at the corner and some sitting options if you cross the ave. Parks nearby, including a dog park and Millcreek Ravine. Both not far. Just depends on how active you want to be when you enjoy your ice cream. Price point is average for what is being charged in Edmonton. So this is still in a treat category.

Ice cream is a good idea, or the dairy-free alternative is since I'm lactose-intolerant. Kind Ice Cream has three choices for me from their regular menu, and they usually have a dairy-free alternative in their rotating menu. I went for one of their standards Lemon and Jammy Raspberry. The staff were patient and kind as we figured out what everyone wanted. My favourite so far this year had been the salted caramel. My mom says it's her favourite waffle cone ever! The quality of the ice cream and the variety of both traditional and more creative flavours is on par with other small batch ice creams shops in the city. It's worth checking out for sure.

Pineapple was light and airy. The mango was the perfect sweetness. The passionfruit was creamy but sadly didn't have any tartness. Perfect way to end our night. Love La Carraia.

Perfect spot to grab some ice cream after shopping at Meadowlark Mall or if you've been to the Jasper Place EPL branch. I was craving ice cream after eating dinner out on Whyte so I decided to hit up 80 Flavours on the way home. There's a small parking lot and a few benches scattered around the area but most people found a nice grassy spot on the ground to enjoy their ice creams. I made it there by 9pm and was surprised to see there was a lineup of about 10 people. Lo and behold, I bumped into a buddy of mine who just happened to show up at the same time for some late night 'cream. Small world brah. There's only one bro working the counter but he was quick. We even watched him serve a family of four around 9:30pm when he was closing down and cleaning up. Nice guy. The menu is broken into ice cream, no sugar added ice cream, frozen yogurt, sorbet and sherbet. They were out of a couple flavours when my buddy ordered which is probably frustrating for people that want to try all 80 flavours. Let's just say he's a 80 Flavours connoisseur. $4.00 for a single and $6.00 for a double, which is pretty standard fare. Trip #1 - Rocky raspberry with Saskatoon berry and hokey pokey with caramel coconut blondie ($6.00) - I went with the rocky raspberry and Saskatoon berry combo while A-town went with a hokey pokey and caramel coconut blondie combo. The pecan was the winner of the two. Smooth, flavourful without being too sweet. Excellent après dinner spot to grab dessert. Bring yo date or whomever. I like fruity flavours so next time I'll probably get the pineapple flavour. I always see people ordering or eating at one of the tables beside the kiosk so it's a popular place. It definitely tastes like what it is advertised as without being overly sugary. I haven't done make your own yogurt in quite some time so im not sure where they sit price wise as compared to other chains but a half filled cup here cost me $5.82 which felt reasonable enough considering the toppings. Yeh is a very nice alternative to some of the more fattening snack options in the mall (so long as you don't go nuts on candy toppings) and I for sure plan on making a trip next time im in WEM and feeling snacky.
