This was by far the worst dining experience I've ever had. After waiting over an hour and a half for our food, we were informed only then that the restaurant could not accommodate a severe, life-threatening allergy that we had clearly communicated at the time of ordering. Despite not being able to safely prepare one of the meals, they refused to remove the charge for it. What food we did receive was subpar--basic orders were incorrect, such as a ham and cheese sandwich arriving without any cheese. The service was slow, disorganized, and unresponsive to our concerns. Between the unacceptable delay, the lack of allergy protocol, and the poor food quality, this experience was not only frustrating but also potentially dangerous. I cannot recommend this establishment to anyone, especially those with dietary restrictions or allergies. read more

Millers crossing in Helena does have a poker room. This review is for the poker room only. They have two poker tables. They played 1/2 NL Holdem. One table was running the night I was there. The dealers were competent and fast. Quick shufflers to make the flow of the game move. The chips were good quality. Cards were great. Lighting was good. Chairs were comfortable. People were friendly. your first drink was paid for by the house. I think I heard the minimum buy in was $20. Overall a good experience. I would play here again if I was in town. read more

Pretty cool place. Came in on a Friday night so I expected it to be busy, and it was. Even with everything going on the bartender got to me within about 30 seconds. Had some great Montana brews available, of which I took full advantage of. There was live music, dancing, and plenty of interesting characters around. I met a couple of guys and played pool with them for an hour or so. (Helena locals are, for the most part, open and friendly folks.) I've been a loyal customer since 2009. I go there multiple times a week for food, drinks, gambling and pool but after what happened on my last visit I'm afraid it's time I find a new place to do business. Service has gotten worse and it's definitely not a friendly place if you're LGBTQ, ask my husband, they treat him like shit and on my visit last time they treated me like shit. Miller's is a staple of downtown Helena. Great place to come for a couple drinks and an appetizer. I especially enjoy the chipotle honey chicken snacks!! They're lightly breaded chicken cubes, fried and tossed in their delicious sauce. Meh. The place was mellow on a Sunday night, which apparently is not the case on other nights. Just some folks watching football. There didn't seem to be anyone working except the bartender and the cook. The bartender was apologetic about the service being slow, which was understandable. We came for food, not drinks, and I wouldn't go back to eat. The cajun seasoning & bleu cheese on the burger was decent, but I wasn't enthused by anything else. We both ordered seasoned fries and got regular, and I didn't get tomato on my burger, though I requested it. (The menu says it is "Available upon request"....if you're lucky.) The server/bartender didn't come back to ask us how things were during our meal nor at the end of it, so there wasn't a chance to correct it. Great place to hang out and take in the 'Scene'. This joint isn't some downtown glitzy place where all the beautiful people gather, no. This is a place where you get together for beers and darts with friends! There's a big dance floor where you can get your groove on, if you wish (Weds and Sats there's a good DJ) and the pool table area is big and roomy. The crowd varies from late night businessmen coming to in score a beer and/or a young college hottie to cute young military men and women out for some R&R. Drink prices are reasonable and food is available, though I have never tried it. Go to Miller's for a beer, a game of pool and to hang with the locals. You'll have a good time! read more

Miller's really ranges in terms of what type of experience you'll have. If you go on a weekend, there will be either a live band playing good music or a DJ shittily spinning EDM. In both cases, a riotous time is to be had. If you go on a weeknight, it can sometimes be very calm just a few people in the bar shooting pool or having engaging conversations. This is a good time albeit for different reasons. Bar staff is competent and will occassionally make a good jab here or there. Surprisingly, I've never been thrown out of this place despite the types of shenanigans I've gotten into. Clientele, like experience, ranges from laid back/cool to downright hostile. read more

This was my home-away-from-home when I lived in Helena. Part of it was that I lived about 100 yards away, but this was my go-to bar. During the week, I'd wander over around 9 PM or so, order a Blackfoot IPA, and shoot a few racks of pool. The three pool tables are set off if their own room, so in general, you don't have to keep doing the "excuse me" thing that you do at many other bars with pool tables. Weekends at Miller's generally meant live music - sometimes great bands like Ten Mile Tide, Clumsy Lovers, Red Elvises, etc. Large open area in front of the stage makes a great dance floor. Food here is typical bar fare - best bet late would be the fries. Super cheap, massive plate, and easily shared. read more

Getting rid of Karmadillos and cooking their own food was a wise decision by the Millers Xing folks. The quality is far better than you would expect for bar food, and the menu more adventurous, while still retaining the satisfyingly stick-to-yer-ribs aspect that goes so well with imbibing alcohol. Rather than being a bar with food, Miller's is now a restaurant with a full, and lively, bar, and often, great music. Excellent work, folks. read more

Miller's seems to have taken a hard turn south recently. I ordered a Crossing Burger and added ham for a buck. It came on a standard sized store bought bun. The burger patty was so small that it covered 1/2 the area of the bun. It was cooked way past well done (cremated). There was so little of the bacon and add-on ham I wasn't sure it had been added until I cut the sandwich in half. There was a single piece of bacon and a tiny bit of ham. For greens I got two small rings of onion, one small piece of lettuce, and a limp, warm pickle spear. This was the worst burger I've ever had at Miller's. The service has also gone way south. I was enjoying the band but left to find better service and palatable food. read more

Curiously, they have excellent clam chowder, but only sometimes. The food is darn good, the place is a dive (in a good way) and the beer selection highlights the beers rom the nearby Blackfoot River Brewing. Definitely worth dropping in for a beer and a bite. Food is decent if you are into greasy fries and burgers. After the brewery shuts down at 8 this is pretty much the only place nearby to go eat and continue drinks (with the exception of the Windbag). Service has not been good. We even had a server who was sent home because she was too drunk to continue to work. Often takes them 20+ minutes to acknowledge you and then they seem annoyed. They charged us $17 for 1 pitcher of the beer from the brewery next door. I have NEVER paid this much for a pitcher in Montana... Not even close! I walked in expecting regular processed "bar food", but came out unexpectedly surprised and quite satisfied. Most menu items are homemade. My waitress Toni recommended the veggie burger. At first I shied away, but when she described how it's made and listed the ingredients, I was sold. It's a huge patty and comes on a toasted kaiser roll with shredded lettuce, homemade pickles, and homemade pickled onions! I added jalapeños and gorgonzola dressing...Absolutely delicious!! I had it with a cup of green chili soup (again, homemade and delicious). Great place. Decor could use some help, but the staff and food more than make up for it. read more

I just started going here for trivia, so far i have ordered the soggy/stale chips, with what tasted like a store bought salsa. And the greasy/soggy cheese fries. Service is terrible, apparently you have to ask for silverware with your food. The ranch however is great!! Beer selection is craft beer and pretty dang great, however they always seem to be out of some kind of booze, liquor stores are open 7days a week, how can they be out of captain for a whole week? read more

It is a dive bar by all accounts, TV, old signage, stage, old furniture, pool tables, walls made of particle board never bothered to be painted, I imagine some shenanigans can go down here if you are guzzling jagerbombs in pint glasses through straws, or just here late on a Weekend night. Yet another Helena disappointment. I've lived here for 30 years and Miller's has proved time and time again that they do not care about the quality of their food or the quality of their service. I had hoped the new owners would establish new standards for service, but unfortunately that was not the case. We intended to have drinks and dinner and instead waited an hour to receive drink (singular) and no chance at dinner. Apparently the order was lost. Are there not systems in place for organizing said orders? Is there not anyone in the entire restaurant with a shred of pride left for their job? If anyone know a place in town besides Taco del Sol, On Broadway or Applebee's where we can count on trading money for food and drinks at a reasonable rate of time, please let me know. Great beer selection, but the food is lacking. It has been soggy, cold, missing some of the ingredients, and pretty flavorless. And if it is busy, the service has been terribly slow and not that friendly. Not a bad place to grab a drink or hear live music or play darts/pool, but I recommend skipping the food. read more

Beware if your in a large group and using a debit card. Keep your receipts. Had some people in our party have additional tip added to there bill. They had there cards on them when leaving the bar. Services were less than adequate and slow. With an empty bar it was surprising to have such bad service but they made up for there slow night by tipping extra on our cards. read more

Last time I was there the wait was really long for the food. I paid with my card and left a $5 cash on the table for a tip. When I signed the receipt (which was $20 total) I forgot to write in the total. I realized this and thought I'd better keep an eye on this transaction when it went through my bank account. Come Monday I checked this receipt with my bank account..........Miller's Crossing had taken $30 out of my bank account even though I'd only signed for $20!!!! I could hardly believe it!! There is no way I would leave a $15 tip for $20's worth of food/drinks. I went back with my copy of the receipt and spoke with the manager, who treated me like I was the criminal. When he showed me his copy of my receipt...well....you don't have to be a forensic expert to see that was NOT my hand writing filling in the total and tip............again......I could hardly believe that this happened ...........I used to LOVE going to Miller's......NEVER again!Your review helps others learn about great local businesses.
