A friend and I enjoyed a delicious down home style lunch today. This old Timey grocery store is reminiscent of grandma's kitchen. My salmon cakes were delicious as well as all of my sides. My friend enjoyed her country fried steak also. The service was excellent. It's definitely worth the drive and be sure to check out the cute little craft and gift store across the street. They recently expanded and added a bunch of new vendors. Currently, they have an outdoor area with pumpkins and mums too. Take a drive out in the country and enjoy. It's not very far off the highway.

Adorable. Takes you back in time. A materialized Whistle Stop Cafe. The servers were beaming with southern charm. Compliments to the chef because everything was marvelous. Had to savor every bite. The squash casserole was the shining star. I would commit unspeakable acts to learn that recipe. If you find yourself anywhere near Christiana Tennessee stop by Miller's Grocery Cafe. Without a doubt the most satisfying southern cooked meal I've had in years.

Delightful and quaint country style cooking in the heart of old town Christiana. Although dining on a Friday evening, there was no problem getting a table. The server was friendly, a country motif, and live music. We will visit again!

In historic Christiana, everything is good! I love the squash casserole and the catfish is also exceptional.

Someone studies demographics, invents a "concept,"…read morehangs a few Edison bulbs from the ceiling and charges you eighteen dollars for something your grandmother made better. Fried Tater Cafe is not that place. This is the kind of restaurant you hope to stumble across somewhere outside of town. An old building, a little history, straightforward Southern food and people who seem considerably more concerned with whether you ate enough than whether their plates are Instagram-ready. And then there are the fried taters. Crispy, salty, unapologetically fried potatoes--the sort of food that reminds you mankind occasionally gets things exactly right. Nobody needed to deconstruct them. Nobody needed to drizzle truffle oil over them. They needed hot grease, seasoning and somebody in the kitchen who knows when to pull them out. The rest of the food follows the same philosophy: familiar, filling and comforting. This isn't a place trying to reinvent Southern cooking. Thank God. It's trying to feed you. The old building and its history make the whole thing even better. You sit there eating fried potatoes and realize people have been passing through this little corner of Tennessee for generations. Places like this increasingly disappear, replaced by chains and developments that could be anywhere in America. Fried Tater Cafe still feels like somewhere. Come hungry. Order the taters. Don't count calories. You'll survive. Five stars.

Date of Visit: July 2, 2026…read more On this afternoon my wife wanted to take me on a country drive after an overwhelming day in Murfreesboro the day before. Murfreesboro used be an easy navigable town, not no more, so many people. So off we went. Heading out towards Chapel Hill we came up the Fried Tater Cafe. After yesterday (if your following) I needed something authentic to the area and this looked the part. We both agreed to stop. Walked inside and I knew right away this going to be great. We were greeted and told to sit anywhere. Nice. Found a booth against the wall and were given menus and drink orders taken. Drinks came while still viewing the menu. I almost wanted a burger but chose the patty melt with coleslaw. I was going to have fries but they have those Checkers type fries. My wife had the BLT with Tots and after having a couple of her tots I should of had the tots. My wife even agrees, these are the best tots she has ever had and she has tots when ever offered. These had the crispy outside that you can bite into without crushing and fluffy innerds mmmmm. But getting back to my patty melt. The menu said it came with thousand island dressing. I would usually hold the TI, but now I'm in a phase where I order with no substitutions. So I took it with the Thousand island. And so glad I did, it did something to it. Don't know if everyone does this but wow. And the slaw was good too, though I wish I had gotten the tots, next time tots. The wife and I will be back here next time in town for sure, if just for the drive. Peace.

Date of Visit: July 1, 2026…read more After driving all day the previous day we were wanting a real good county breakfast. My wife told me she had just the place in mind and I've been there before too (City Cafe). But when we arrived we saw they were permanently closed, dang. I could taste it. Then the wife recommended Puckett's and they are just around the the corner, a short walk. As we walked up on the place I noticed the marque, retro. The inside was bit as well. We were quickly seated and drink orders taken. This was a weekday morning visit so not too busy. Looking over the menu, I may not have looked close enough, I decided on the "Build your own Omelette". Onions, tomatoes and pepper jack cheese. The wife ordered the B&G. I noticed I wasn't asked about my side? I wounded potatoes. Also rye bread with my omelette, hmmm. Our food arrived, all looked good. I saw my order came with what looked like frozen type of potatoes, perfect squares. I was expecting something home cooked, fried potatoes with burnt edges. Flavor. The wife's B&G looked great, two basques and potatoes as well. The omelette was good, plenty of everything and filled. The wife said here B&G was really good and she's a B&G expert. Over all, all was good just disappointed with the potatoes option and no rye toast. Perhaps they could consider fresh cut potatoes along with the frozen type. Also maybe offer some type of toast. Give the place try if your on the square. Peace.

They were fresh, hot, with a nice crust, and were super light. I ordered the buffalo tenders, un-sauced with ranch dressing. They were very good and the french fries paired perfectly with them. The ambience of this restaurant was very lively. And despite the fact that the restaurant was fairly full, service time did not take super long. The only thing that could've made this visit better, would have been if my actual server would have at least been a tiny bit more tentative to our table. When we came in our server was on break, which is fine. So our order was taken by a fellow waitress and delivered by other staff members. With that being said, our waitress did not even check on us to even offer a refill of water.
