Came here for breakfast one of the days we were visiting Seward and it did not disappoint! You order at the window in the back/ side corner of the store. Very cabin/ fisherman vibes. I ordered the breakfast sandwich and it was delicious as well as the crispy potatoes that came on the side. My company got the pancakes and sausage side and that too was delicious. This updated review is ONLY for the North Annex RV Park. My review for the office, and cafe remains the same. We were only camping for one night, so I called ahead to make sure there were spaces. They sent us to the North Annex. It is a large gravel area, with big, and I mean huge potholes. It is described as being "waterfront" but the waterfront is question is a creek, though you can see Resurrection Bay off to the right, you are not overlooking it, as I assumed we would be, from the "waterfront" description. The gravel lot is soulless, and not very leveled out. There's really no vibe to it, no charm at all, we both felt that it had an industrial feel to it. There's no picnic tables. There's electric hookup, but no water. I am grateful we were only staying for one night, I did not enjoy the experience. Those potholes really need attending to, and the whole lot needs some serious leveling out. read more

We did a full day Captain's Choice Sea Kayaking Tour which went to Northwestern Fjord. OMG this was the most unbelievable experience! The views and the wildlife were breathtaking. Zach was so knowledgeable and an all around incredible guide. He went totally above and beyond to give us the best experience from start to finish. We came right at the start of the season, so Macee and Bradley were our extra guides. They were also very attentive and full of great information and they, along with our awesome captain Paul, helped make it really fun and a truly memorable experience. You can really feel the passion they all have for their work and this incredible place. They had us completely covered as far as gear including waterproof coat, pants, kayak skirt, dry bags, and gloves as well as food, drinks, and snacks. I cannot say enough good things about this tour; it was truly a once in a lifetime experience for us. read more

We didnt have any reservations for fishing, but we came by anyways. The hike along the road from Seward was about an hour, super pretty views and waterfalls along the way! We got here for breakfast and it was just so warm and cozy we stayed for a while playing some cards. Stayed so long the lunch menu opened up! Best fish and chips around. Really great breakfast sandwiches too. And the kombucha on tap - the cherry one i think? Was the best kombucha ive ever had! The boat was too small for six of us...there were just four seats inside the cabin. The captain and his mate were friendly and enthusiastic, but we were slated to go for kings and rockfish on a half-day charter. When one of us caught a beautiful 25 lb king, the captain kept us on the king chase so long we never got to go for rockfish... so the entire trip was spent with poles in brackets, trolling, without giving any of us the joy of feeling a bite...we were only able to grab a pole when it was jerking...not really my idea about deep sea fishing. read more

Also able to see Sea Otters, Puffins and seagulls and magpies. Great crew small boat but it was perfect. my wife and I just made our first ever trip to Alaska for a wedding. I'm a fishoholic so naturally we fished one day. We went on a full day multi species trip and I must say, without needing experiences with other charters, Millers has to be the best large charter out of Seward. We were paired up with 12 other fisherman who were all splendid on the trip. The captain Paul and 2 deckhands Owen and Logan were grade A+. I dont see how an outfit could do any better to provide the best fishing experience. We also spotted whales and sea lions while fishing or boating to the correct waters for the fish we were targeting. These guys take care of their clients. If you are like we were, googling who to fish with, look no further. If Paul and his mates arent catching fish, they arent being caught that day. read more

We were out for a drive today, down from Anchorage. Just needed to get out and enjoy the sunshine. We stopped in here for lunch after seeing the reviews on yelp. I would take a picture of what we ordered, but it was so good that it's all gone! Their sandwiches are made with this amazing bread that has a denseness and a hint of garlic to it. My boyfriend and I took our dog to millers landing for the weekend and it was a blast! It was our pups 7th birthday and we wanted to make it special. We enjoyed the seaside cabin we stayed at and had pretty good weather. The cafe was nice and had great hot cocoa and snacks foods. Every worker we came in contact with was very sweet and had great attitudes. Upon reserving our stay, in the rules it includes that all dogs must be leashed at all times. I was happy to see this rule because though my dog loves humans, he isn't a fan of other dogs approaching him so we appreciate the leash law and always follow it ourselves. The reason this review is 3, rather than 5 is mainly because the leash rule was not being followed by a lot of the people at the campgrounds, cafe, and beach. I know there isn't employees everywhere to dictate what's going on, but there was patrons on the deck at the cafe and in the cafe with a bunch of dogs off leash that all ran up on my dog while we were walking him (on leash) in-front of the cafe on the beach (not anywhere near these dogs but they ran very far from their owner). This happened to us at least once every day we were there and we stayed for 3 nights total. It's very exhausting to have to constantly worry about another dog attacking mine while I'm following rules and others are not. Like I said, love the location and the stay was great, but please enforce your leash law a little better. Not everyone wants to be approached by unleashed animals. read more

I have slightly mixed feelings about Miller's Landing so I will start with the not so great and finish with the great! First, the drive out to their location is spectacular! Along the way, we saw eagles, sea otters and sea lions so well worth the drive out of town. We had a chance to stay in the "Corner Cabin" this summer and really liked our experience. It was one of the original cabins built on the property and it is very VERY basic, but we don't come to Seward to spend tons of time INSIDE. It was just perfect for what we wanted, affordable, clean, nice location, dog-friendly, great campfire spot, and close to the beach. The pillows were crap but I won't ding them on that one. All in all, I would 100% stay in this cabin again. And look forward to the opportunity to do so. Our next trip we joined in a 1/2 day mixed species fishing charter. the booking experience was super easy, and the staff was very helpful on the phone. We went in late July so we took the salmon, cod, rockfish charter. We arrived around 4 pm, our charter was supposed to leave at 5 so we enjoyed the beach, people watched, drank the free coffee and chilled. At 10 till 5 we gathered on the deck where we met our other soon to be fishing companions. 5 o' clock rolled around and we were all still waiting around till about 5:15. I went in and talked with the front desk people who had no information. The captain finally came up and chatted with me and let me now the other boat was on the way and they were down a boat but that we could make up time on the water. The delay combined with the lack of communication is why they just get 4 stars. It all ended up working out just fine, the boat captain was very young but quite skilled, the deckhand was a young girl but just fun and awesome! We caught lots of fish and did end up having a BLAST! Already looking to book another charter before the year is out and I am hoping when that one is done I can bump these folks up to 5 stars! read more

I went on a full day halibut charter through Millers Landing in late May while on vacation in the area. I had a last minute cancellation on a trip through another landing the night before, so Miller's was able to fit me into a trip on extremely short notice without an issue. Captian Paul and his deckhand Clay were able to get us onto fish consistently throughout the day. We ended up with a bunch of rockfish and cod, then some tanker halibut from 40-100lbs. Overall, Captain Paul and Clay were just down to earth guys who love to fish, and they made the trip a blast because of that. Miller's Landing may be a little out of the way when compared to the rest of the Seward landings, but the price, the people, and the experience they gave made this one of my favorite charters to date. We really had a blast at Miller's Landing. We stayed in the Dogwood Cabin, a 4 bunk cabin with a wood stove. The bath house is down the road a bit. The cabin had fire starters, a lighter, a game, trash bags, marshmallow pokers, basic necessities for simple camping. Since we are from NC, we didn't have chairs or any of the usual stuff we bring for camping. The bathhouse desperately needs an update and maybe an expansion. We were there 4th of July weekend and it was just packed the whole time. Housekeeping tried their best to keep up with it, but they couldn't. Showers are token operated, $1/token/minute. Wood is $7 a bundle. The store is pretty reasonable for snacks. Overall, would stay again. I'd want to bring my camping stuff to make it more comfortable though! read more

Meh. I've experienced better is right. I am so thankful I had a coupon for the campground and used a Groupon for the Caines Head kayaking tour. My dad and I stayed at Miller's Landing Campground in late June/early July 2019 because I had a BOGO coupon from the Alaska TourSaver book. I actually think our accommodations for the two nights in Seward were dismal to say the least. The campground was more towards Lowell Point and didn't even come with a picnic table. The bathrooms were beyond disgusting - so much so that I did not use them once. I opted to take a leak and water a tree instead... yes, all weekend. The campground was lackluster at best. Now onto the kayaking tour to Caines Head. What a joke. The following is an excerpt from the journal I kept on the trip: "we went to go check in and the attitudes on the employees at Miller's Landing are unreal. I guess we should've heeded that as a warning. The kayak and hike were less than ideal. Our 'guide' Jayde was the dullest gem/jewel around an a complete airhead. Dad and I joined a family of four from Minnesota and we all kayaked about five miles to Caines Head State Recreation Area. Good thing the tide was in our favor. Jayde on the other hand was basically useless the entire time and once we started the hike she told us the names of some plants (who knows if she was right) but didn't give us any information about the military bunkers we were passing by and had questions about. We certainly didn't have enough time to explore the bunkers because she kept hiking without even telling us she was continuing on! AWFUL! And, to make matters worse, she was lazy and the 'conditions' were supposedly too bad to get back via kayak so we had to wait to get picked up by a water taxi!" One of the worst experiences I have ever had while on vacation. This should probably be a one star review but I guess I'm feeling generous today. We rented an RV and did an Alaska Road Trip. This campground we stayed at when we went to the Kenai Fjords. There wasn't a ton for us there but it was an amazing spot to stay the night, incredible views from our bed. The little store they had was perfect for what we needed. We weren't in this spot long enough to explore more but it met the needs we had while there and you cannot beat waking up to the views we had. We would definitely stay there again if in the area again. The staff in the building from check in and groceries were nice and helpful. read more

Pathetic. That captures it in a nutshell. Everything here but the view sucks. The view got it the extra star. We got what we thought was a quaint camping cabin called Orca Beach. It's sandwiched between a giant RV and a ramshackle ghetto house 25 yards a from construction of a huge lodge. Trash abounds. Worst is the customer service. I asked at the office/store if they had fire starter sticks for the bonfires since it was so windy. The woman made a gesture like rolling eyes and said we use paper here in Alaska. In the morning in the rain I went to the office to fill water bottles from the sink there Since the bottles did t fit under the bathroom faucets. Guy said you can't use our sink, go use the hose outside. In the rain. (I used the inside sink twice yesterday to wash my hands btw) read more

This is a review of the campground, not the boat trips. Although after our experience with the campgrounds we would not have consider using them as a tour service. The site is a few miles outside town on Lowell point, no more picturesque or less touristy than town itself. It just makes it a bit of a hassle to get anything from town. (Ie not really camping and not really town, so no benefit other than maybe proximity to Caines head if you plan to hike there). The campsite itself is a bit rundown. The shared toilet, showers and laundry faculty was absolutely filthy! Disgusting really. There are signs up to say let us know if it needs cleaning but really they could not be cleaning more than once a day - and even then just a cursory sweep. There was mold and bugs everywhere. The staff were rude to my in laws on check in and when I returned to ask a few simple questions. Overall, the view is great but no different from that in town and the horribly dirty facilities make it something to skip! read more
