The prices are a bit higher than what you'll find at the big box stores, but I think this is due more to the BM paint as opposed to the store's pricing. I was very satisfied with my transactions as well as the end result and would definitely go back when/if I need more paint.

IF you could get it anywhere else which you can't it would be $80 a gallon. Then I got 5 gallons of stain for $10 each. Forget the Memorial Day paint "sales" at Home Depot. You would be paying 3 times as much for an inferior quality paint. And the accessories?? Rollers for 75 cents. 4 inch brushes for $3.99. And lavender scented rubber gloves for $1. When I got halfway through the gallon I realized that it was never properly mixed. It wasn't separated, the paint was actually still half white in the bottom of the can. After I mixed the paint I had left, I have 2 different color paints and obviously neither will be a match to a new gallon of the same color. I will never buy paint at that store again.

I keep a spreadsheet with the details of each time I paint something, including the paint formula code and the base paint code. That is the key! I walked in with that info and they quickly mixed me a can and I was on my way in 15 or 20 minutes. This particular location has cramped parking right in front of the building, but somehow I've always been able to get a spot. I've used a number of brands over the years, and I've settled on using PPG exclusively for my interior house painting. I just like it! It goes on easy, it dries well and looks great. And these PPG Paints stores, some of which used to be Masterwork-Sternberger stores, have always been very helpful and knowledgeable.
