Like many in the recent past, I was a longtime Mills Insurance client. Used to be so nice calling up & speaking to a live person if you need be. Then Acrisure either acquired them or somehow, Mills became affiliated w/ them. Phone wait times are very long. Expect an hour on average. You may get a friendly cust svc rep, or like today, you definitely may not. I will be seeking out another option than Mills now, as I don't see any "value added" by using them. read more

These guys used to be great, but ever since they got bought out by Acrisure (which sounds like a painful skin disease), the customer service has declined. Average wait times to talk to someone on the phone now range from 15 to 30 minutes. To be fair, if you do manage to talk to someone, they are helpful. read more

Prior to 2022 I was with Mills for years for my Auto Insurance. In 2022 I went with a home owners policy with them on a new home purchase. All was well during the transaction with Stuart. Come 2023 I was notified by Mail from Guard that my Policy would non-renew. I contacted sturart promptly and he said dont worry about it until the month its going to end and he will find me another carrier. Two months later still no contact. Come two days before im going to lapse. I just go on my own and get a policy from Gieco. I sent an email to Stuart telling him I never heard back from him and was ghosted by him. Not even an email back saying sorry or tying to get the business back next time. Do yourself a favor if you are gonna use a broker find another one. Or just DIY its easier and usually cheaper from what im finding. read more

Any agency purchased by Mills/Acrisure is sure to go downhill. They don't care about anything but upselling and/or getting you off the phone as soon as possible. I could go on and on about their horrible customer service practices. Customer Service is not their priority. Look for a different agency. Don't get bamboozled by them. I will be moving my insurance policies and I will be telling my family and friends who have their insurance through them to change. I will be helping them to do this because I was an agent for 46 years, this is how I know exactly how awful this place is. P.S. Its middle and upper management to blame. Got renewal policy corrected by phone and made a payment on early April. Never received a corrected policy. Now find that policy has the wrong address and name. Everything that was updated and corrected in April is not on file now, called to walk through this again by phone. They show the policy cancelled even though a payment had been made?! Again, 45 year customer with Mills, wife added on 40 years ago, 2 sons customers for over 20 years each. Home policy has been with them for over 25 years SAME ADDRESS. The problem was 1 son had an accident and they no longer wanted to insure. Placed him on a separate policy elsewhere. But Mills still had him in their system. read more

Scott finally called me back and gave me a quote. He said that there are so many insurance companies backing out of California, so they are overwhelmed to look for other insurance companies to cover those customers. Which is true as far as I know about the home owners insurance. But I could've been sent a text or email by them. I've been worried about this for 2 months. I've been a customer since 2005. I never bothered them since I haven't had any unfortunate vehicle situation (yet! - knock on wood). Just about this month, I added another vehicle to my policy. The agent I had transaction with did not explain thoroughly all additional fees I should expect for the next billing cycle. The agent should've advised me to wait for the end of my 6 month term to avoid excess amount to pay. I went from one agent to another and another. The last two were able to explain what should've been discussed in the beginning. I told the last two agents that I was not pleased with what had happened but you won't hear even the faintest apology. Customer Service should be bounded by taking the heat and find solutions to appease the client. When I realized that they did not bother to give an apology, I told them that I will no longer continue with their service but they seem to be okay losing a 2 car policy... that just simply means that they don't value their customers. I work with Janet and Scott on a regular basis. Both are excellent for customer service, providing intricate details on insurance, and being able to complete what you request with minimal effort. Everything I do with them is either via email or over the phone. I've never had to go into the office, which is great because I don't live anywhere near where they are. Their only loss he appears to be with you, the customer. They'll do what they can to get you the best rate with the conditions that you set. They won't give you insurance from a carrier that offers them a sign-up bonus. Again, they are there for you. read more

I've been with Mills for three years now. I have quoted out but have never been able to find rates as low as I have with them. There has been some issues on the insurance provider's end, but Mills has always gotten it taken care of right away for me. I have been a customer of Mills Insurance for more than 10 years. Over the last year the level of service that I have received as become poor. My account representative always sounds bothered and is rude. I spent an hour on the phone giving details for a homeowners policy that I needed in order to close escrow. I had to go to another broker to get my policy in order to close my escrow since my rep. didn't bother to send anything over. I tried again after escrow closed and she to date still hasn't bothered to send me any new policy information. She called today regarding a form that didn't apply to me. I've had Mercury since I first started driving at age 16 and felt I always had some sort of issue with Mercury and that they didn't care for my needs.
