We got to rent the smaller boat this time and cruise up and down the Chickahominy River. The owners could not be nicer, they even let my partner borrow their kids fishing pole for the day! The home itself is perfect for 2-4 people. Everything you need, plus a fantastic view of the river from your porch and firepit. At low tide you can even bring lawn chairs down the stairs to the river and use the makeshift beach to relax.

I have performed a…read morebottom job on my 30' sailboat during the 'Off Season' which took 5 months and also I kept a 23' runabout boat at the marina inside the fence on a rack due to the hassle of trailering. Their Forklift puts it in and takes the boat out & hoses it down after use. Then places it on my designated wood rack again. No hassle. Now (June 2019) I'm waiting for my Va, boat registration transfer from N.C. to Va. so I can change the numbers (& state) off the hull and take my new(er) Center Console boat down for the boating season. Back River is a great area to fish, relax and pull up to Factory Point and enjoy family time. I highly recommend Bell Isle. John

This marina has two sides - a power boat side and a sail boat side. A ship's store, bathhouse/laundry and pool on the power boat side and another pool, bathhouse/laundry and Captain's Lounge on the sailboat side. There is wi-fi throughout, but the signal varies, depending on where you are. The staff are friendly and helpful. They do a good job of keeping the facilities clean. Have not had the chance to use the working boat yard. But all reports from others who have used them are good. The real selling point for this marina is the location on the York River. Upon leaving the marina, you can be on the Bay in about 20 minutes. Other marinas on the York, it takes a lot longer.

We had planned to haul out in a few months for blister repair and bottom paint, after observing we decided we found our place. Excellent work, reasonably priced, and impeccable communication. Great pool and bath house, laundry, floating docks, dog park across the street, with instacart and walmart delivery options. Great short ride to Yorktown via dinghy to enjoy the free hop on and off trolly tour. Can't say enough great things about this place we will defiently return.

There are a couple of beautiful flower gardens, not to mention the marina is nestled in a placid area surrounded by large trees. The entire marina is pristinely manicured. They have a full working service yard and haul out. The ship store is stocked with a wide variety of boater's needs. We are on the great loop and needed a repair to our bow thruster, the marina was happy to work us in even though they were booked through July! So much to do close by, Uber does pick up from here and food can be delivered. If you get the chance this is a great place to stay.

I don't have a boat of my own but this marina seemed really great to me!
