My children and I had left Walmart and a man was standing right by my car smoking pot (I knew right away from the disgusting smell, and when I asked the man if he was smoking pot, he said yes. It was so infuriating because we all smelled like pot instantly, including in my car for a while). It appears there are still some "gray" areas in MA, which is so frustrating for those of us who have never had an interest in drugs, and try to teach our children NOT to do drugs... now I (and my children) smell it all the time in public areas! Thankfully, this police officer (a woman... I didn't get her name) was willing to help and she even said she'd have an officer go over to Walmart's parking lot since IT IS ILLEGAL to drive while intoxicated with pot... sadly (unlike alcohol) there's no test for it yet. All heck was breaking loose with one car running the stop sign and hitting two other cars. I was a…read morewitness and first to ring 911. "You called it in, saw what happened?" "Yes officer, that car went X, and then Y, and then Z and then I called." "X, Y and then Z?" "Yes." "Thanks for the facts, and for calling it in and for hanging out and giving the eye witness." "No problem, just the facts." So there you have it. Complete mayhem, a dangerous scene, ambulances and hook and ladders, plus every yahoo recording the action on their cell phone and yelling "woot, woot!" while smoking blunts. But the PPD mopped everything up, saw to the safety of the peeps and got things back on track for the citizens. The bottom line is that the police did a great job managing a complete shitshow and I for one am better off for their competence.

Everyone I was finally able to speak to was miserable and clearly hated their jobs. I'm sorry I need to disturb you, but I am thankfully not familiar with the process after an accident, especially after a hit and run. It was really nice to feel like such a burden while also dealing with everything else. The officer who responded was ok, but everyone else made me dread ever having to call back. Unfortunately, I am not done dealing with them since I still need an accident report and their hours are limited to my work hours, so I have the pleasure of dealing with them again in the middle of my workday (and paying for it), I can't wait.

She had a very smug attitude towards us and when we said what if we don't want to do what she was saying was going to happen, she said Well no problem Ill get the Fire Department and we will take down your door and then you'll be replacing the door and looked at the officer beside her and chuckled. We turned away and she said hey did you just say something to me? I have called three time to file a complaint to her officer with no contact back. This is behavior unbecoming of an officer. There is No reason anyone should be spoken to by an officer that way for any reason. They wonder why people feel the way they do about the police, perfect case. Within 2 minutes of calling 911 there were several police officers rushing into my home to the aid of my family. They are not only professional, highly trained, and quick to help every resident but meet the needs of every person in a kind and caring approach. I should also mention Franklin is one of the safety communities in Massachusetts, just Google it. Take the time to thank them when the opportunity arises, and if you are looking for an awesome community to move to and feel safe, look no further, as I speak from first hand experience.
