I took my 17000.00 Rolex in to have a simple repair where the date is displayed a simple little gold peice of trim needed to be snapped in to place, here is where the dishonesty started, they had glue "oozing" out of all the edges of the trim piece and glue on the Cyclopes window so now can't see the date number from the dried epoxy, the face crystal is trashed "this crystal cost 580.00 to replace by a Certified Rolex dealer. Worst experience ever! The tried to steal a stone (red coral) and replace it with processed turquoise during a repair!!! My mother who is on a very limited income had some very old pieces of turquoise/coral jewelry. They had been broken for many years and she saved money to get them fixed. She walked into Milne Jewelry To get a quote. The older gentleman that runs this place told her it would be 45 Dollars to solder her two pieces of jewelry. There was no haggling. This was the quote he gave my mom and she just agreed to it. It was a great deal or so she thought. They told her it would take 2 to 3 days, and as of today it had been a week. She called to see if her pieces were ready and she was told they may or may not be but they had to wait for another lady to come in to know for sure. So my mom went ahead and went into the shop. They were supposedly ready. She had a necklace and a bracelet and got the bracelet back and put it on her wrist and was looking at the necklace and noticed that it had been repaired to where it would not set correctly on her neck. Had one too many chain loops on one side So it was not even. So the older gentleman was taking it in the back to see if he could fix it. During this she was looking at her bracelet and noticed one of her coral stones had been replaced with a new piece of processed turquoise. They had not said anything about it. Which when she brought the jewelry in the older gentleman said "wow, you can't buy the red coral anymore." One of her pieces of coral had been replaced with turquoise. The turquoise that she had in her bracelet was raw untreated and this new piece was treated turquoise which didn't match. She immediately asked the lady at the front desk where her stone went because it was missing and had been replaced. My mother had taken a photo of her bracelet and necklace before taking them in which I think saved her. It wasn't until she showed them the picture of before the repair that they started caring and looking for her stone. The lady at the front desk acted like she didn't know anything about it but did say that sometimes the stones crumble when you take them out of the jewelry during repairs. Which is correct with turquoise but not with coral because it is so much harder. So my mother asked where her stone was and told them she was not leaving until they found it. There was a heavyset lady that was at her desk And she found my mom's coral stone within just a matter of minutes on her desk. Not in the back where they do the repairs... Her comment then was "there's so many stones around here sometimes we can't keep track of them all." This is crap where you can't buy red coral anymore. It's really weird that it would just come up missing! My mother who at this point is very angry because it seems like they are trying to steal her coral stone and then they are being very rude about it. They told her that they would put the coral stone back in where they had put the turquoise. My mom told them that would be great since that was her stone and that she would wait there while they did it. She was not going to leave her jewelry there again because she kept feeling like they were trying to steal the stones. They became very rude. Including the elderly gentleman who seems to do the repairs and may own the place. (They all called him Grandpa) My mother than sat there for 2 1/2 hours waiting for her jewelry. The entire time she was there they were extremely rude! They kept telling her it was going to take a day or two to do the repairs. But she wasn't leaving there without her jewelry. They never once apologized. They just kept making excuses as to why her stone was swapped for a piece of turquoise. It really scares me for people to take diamonds or other gems to this place because who knows what else they are swapping. We will never be going back!! On top of it all they still charged her for the repairs which she paid. They didn't offer any discount for the inconvenience or anything. They kept acting like it was all a big inconvenience for them. Please beware!!!! I've recently started taking my jewelry here to be repaired. Diamonds loose, re-sizing, Etc... Always very kind. A prior repair took two days. Most recent was only 1 day! Prices are very reasonable compared to others in town. Don't be fooled by the older building. I'm guessing they have been there since it was built and the service you get is what matters most. read more

My first experience with them, a minor repair, was okay. But then I wanted to have a ring reset with an aquamarine. They did it, but the stone is of very poor quality, and the price was a couple of hundred dollars. I will never go back. read more

Fiance and I went into Milnes to get a pin put on his watch, it fell out in our carpet somewhere. He handed the lady the watch, and she looked at it like it was a lump of coal. (Mind you this was a $1500 Invicta) They are seniors ( which I have nothing against AT ALL) but they will need to be updated on newer watches, like in this century. First they say it doesn't need the pin at all, which it did to clasp it. Dirty looks when we disagreed. She takes it behind this little wall where sat another lady. There they whisper and then speak louder on how the watch cant be repaired and just to "give it back" rather rudely. Horrible customer service, and really need some knowledge. Liar! On 8/10/2013 at 8:59 p.m. my father ordered a Casio Databank 300 (CA-DBC310-1) watch in the amount of $75.97 + $10.95 S&H for a total of $86.92. When he checked out... that was weird so the next day being a Sunday, he decided to call on Monday. Meanwhile he found this watch on eBay and Amazon selling from $199.99 to $495.00. Why? It's because Casio hasn't produced this watch for at least 5 years! My father has owned 3 of these watches over the years and the average cost was about $69 but since they are no longer manufactured... smart people who bought these watches and just put them on the shelf are now making a killing. Back to Milne Jewelry... On Monday he called and talked to Sherry (whom I found out is Sherry Milne). At that time she stated she didn't have the watch in stock and that in "a couple of days" her order from Casio would arrive which included "old stock." Sounded like BS... but maybe Casio would have "old stock" and he would be lucky to get this watch at that price. She also stated that they use their own server instead of a shopping cart with SSL and that all data is kept on their server as Mr. Milne was (is) a computer expert. On the 14th he tried calling the 801-486-1618 number and no answer. He hid his phone number and tried again. No answer. He used a completely different phone but no answer. Why? We live in S. California and she probably saw the Area Code and decided not to pick up. He then sent her the following eMail: "In my call to you on the 11th, you indicated that you did not have the Casio CA-DBC310-1 in stock.. and that you expected Casio to send you stock in a couple of days. I'm inquiring as to the availability of this watch. Please let me know if you have it and/or when you expect it to arrive and to be shipped. Otherwise, please initiate a refund of my credit card." When he sent that email... his credit card WAS NOT charged... but he didn't know that. It was probably only Authorized for the transaction. However, THIS EMAIL WAS NEVER ANSWERED! Therefore, no phone calls would be taken and no Email (on their own server) would be answered. He feels this was a BAIT & SWITCH tactic so that he would order a different watch from them. The ONLY GOOD thing about all of this is that his credit card statement came in a couple of days ago and there is NO CHARGE for the watch. Whew! However, this company has been caught SCAMMING in the past. They say they've been in business since 1951 or '57 (depending on which website one is looking at)... but here is what the The Salt Lake Tribune, August 17 2007 reported about this company: "An American Indian arts group has reached a settlement in its lawsuit accusing a St. George store owner of misrepresenting goods as being made by Indian artists. The Chicago-based Native American Arts Inc., representing Ho-Chunk tribal members, had demanded $8 million from Milne Jewelry Co. in a complaint filed in 2005. A confidential settlement was reached on Aug. 6, according to court records. Company owner Irwin Milne did not admit guilt but agreed not to violate the Indian Arts and Craft Act, essentially a truth-in-advertising law that makes it unlawful to sell counterfeit Indian artwork. At issue in the lawsuit were two Indian dolls marketed by Milne Jewelry manufactured in China by Timeless Collection, which sold porcelain dolls through companies selling collectibles and on eBay. Other items in question included five jewelry pieces labeled as Navajo, Zuni and Hopi." Bottom line: We DON'T TRUST this business. They LIED that they had this watch in stock showing the Casio's photo on their website with a PRICE and a "Place Order" button. The page also states it is a "Sizzling Summer SPECIAL" and "Buy Now and Save" (Offer Expires Soon). WOW WHAT A DIRTY LIE!!! Amazing service! I went in to get batteries for 4 of my watches at the same time. I asked when they might be able to get to them - they said they'd do them while I waited. I was stunned - and only $22 to boot! I will be frequenting their store. It's not often I'm greeted at a retail store when I walk in and feel the greeting is genuine. I'll be bringing my wife's jewelry in for repairs. I finally found a place I think I can trust. The prices on their retail jewelry seemed reasonable too. Christmas is coming. read more

I took 8 watches that belonged to my sister in for new batteries. I dropped them off and went to get my haircut. By the time I was done with that they had changed the batteries in all 8 watches, and set the correct time! I took a silver chain here to be repaired, the jeweler who helped me was extremely nice and accommodating. It was only $5.00 for the repair!!!! Who does anything for $5.00 anymore? It took a couple of days. When I called to see if someone else could pick it up for me without the receipt, again the person I spoke to was super nice and accommodating. Good business ethic. I went into Milne to get a battery for my watch, why I was waiting I was wearing a ring from my great grandpa I asked a guy working there about a stone that fell out and wanted to see if I could get it replaced, he stopped what he was doing took my ring cut and replaced the stone for me. Not only that he polished the ring. I buy all my jewelry from Milne and they always take care of me. I have a huge watch collection some watches are very old and expensive. Milne is the only place I trust to take them to. They always fix it and do it right. Not only that there batteries are cheaper than Walmart. Milne has been around for a long time I guess since the 50's great business, love the customer service and I also love the wedding ring I bought, I actually compared it with some other jewelry stores and I was either getting worse quality or paying more for what I paid for, the ring I bought I wanted to change it up and the lady made it happen. Business come and go in St. George Milne is still there since St. George was a little town, probably why they are still are around and other jewelry stores come and go!
