I have gone to mimi nails on Geneva several times, I had nails and toes done, I was always happy with the services I received, but I made the big mistake of popping in for a Brazilian wax, I did not have an appointment, but was taken by the owner who was outside when I arrived working in the front garden, she said she could take me, I said great! well let me just say , I have had many bikin waxes and this was more like getting ripped at the seams. i was instantly in pain and it only got more inflamed in the next few days. it took atleast two weeks to feel a bit normal down there again. it was most definitely the worst experience I've ever endured from this industry. i will never return and tell everyone I know to never ever go there for wax services. read more

I loved it here. The lady that did my nails was so sweet and we talked the entire time. She was pretty quick and I LOVE my nails. I would say I don't like that they charge extra for length. So just be aware of that if you like your length. But, I give this place 5 stars. Also! It's the only place open on Sunday's so that's another plus. read more

I went there because they don't apparently use electric drill to take off shellac....They don't that part is great BUT the place itself is disgusting... dirty ripped sign cover outside.. tattered... dirty bathroom....and what can I say. The technician Jenny couldn't be bothered to wait until the shellac lifted a bit, but attacked my nails with a file scraping and quite frankly I was horrified. She was rough never soaked my cuticles in warm water. Brought out cold water... just terrible. No lotion or cream on the hands afterwards.... just shoddy work. I didn't get a week before the shellac was lifting. I will never go back here. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. I am not over reacting, it is not good at all and you are better off painting your own nails. The cut my cuticle, lied about the pricing and charged me double. It is also completely unsanitary. The staff is rude and I wish I could take the polish off. I am afraid of getting an infection because the cut is so deep. read more

I arrived at 230 and the man said it would be 15 minutes, even though I made an appointment I had to wait. I have had 3 nails break and it hasn't even been a week, the first one was the day I got them done and they did fix it for free the next day but then have since had 2 more break... Worst experience ever! I booked a manicure and got a quick filing and shellac polish. I was choosing between 2 colours and the one I choose came out of the bottle very faint. Instead of stopping and getting another bottle or recommending I go with my second choice the clerk (can't call her an esthetician) she proceeded to put 3 completely uneven coats on - my nails are horrid. Soooooo obviously sub-par - they look like a 3 year old put the polish on. Very disappointed as my first visit was great. I was planning on booking a pedicure for later in the week but I WILL NOT RETURN. Got in my car and booked my pedicure elsewhere. read more

My friend and I came in for manicure and pedicures this week and we GREAT time! I was so impressed with how friendly all the staff were. We had our little ones along and the girls working there were so sweet and very professional. I was also pleased to see how well the staff interacted with each other. They were happy to help each other out, had fantastic communication about what was and needed to be done. My friend and I had a great afternoon there. We will definitely be back! read more

I did not enjoy this experience at all! They cut my cuticles while putting acrylic nails on, and if this has happened to anyone before, you know it's very painful for a couple days afterwards. They also had no sense of costumer service. Just assumed I wanted white tips and then attempted to charge me for them. I was not impressed. read more

Went in for a refill and the man doing them was rude, on his phone and hurt me while doing my nails. I asked for square and that is not what I got plus he made them so short and I don't like the look overall. I went here for the first time a couple weeks ago to get a manicure and pedicure before my birthday. I booked an appointment and they took me right away. Not all of the massage chairs had a remote and since they were busy that day it seemed to be a game of musical chairs to make sure everyone got a working remote. My pedicure was okay. My manisure on the otherhand was horrific. The lady made me remove my own nail polish? Never has this happened to me before. She also didn't do a very good job cleaning up my cuticles and she cut me. The paint job wasn't good either, I wanted an ombre/ gradient glitter effect and it just looked like the glitter was painted on by someone who wasn't paying attention. My friends at my birthday couldn't believe I paid a professional to paint my nails, as they said I could do better myself. She also charged me an extra 2 dollars for something, not exactly sure what, but she said it would make my manicure last longer and it didn't. It chipped within a day or two when I can usually go a week with regularly painted nails. I give 2 stars only because the lady who did my nails was friendly and we had some good conversation. This doesn't make up for the poor job on my nails though and I'll be looking elsewhere for a mani/ pedi next time in the St. Catharines area. read more

** Poor business practices ** Came to Mimi's for the first time for a shellac change and to get 1 nail fixed. I called ahead and confirmed they could do this and showed up. Upon walking in - Mimi confirmed I needed a shellac change and nail fix. I advised yes. From here, a different gentleman began doing my nails after her instruction. I asked for a little shorter and unfortunately did not watch close enough as he literally took all length away completely. This was not the issue though. Upon payment - he asked me for 38$ - I questioned how much my Shellac cost as this is very high .. he advised he gave me a gel fill and shaped my nails ( almond) which was extra. I explained I never asked for a gel fill ( I had my nails filled 2 days prior so it was obvious to anyone that I did not need a fill. I politely tried to discuss that this was their service error and that I was clear in what I asked for prior to sitting. Mimi the owner was there and was unprofessional in her dealings. She explained yes she made a mistake and told the nail artists gentleman to give me a fill. I explained this being her error - the cost would not fall onto the customer. She was unable to discuss professionally or appropriately this error. I ended up having to leave after it was clear we weren't going to get anywhere with the discussion. I honestly feel that I have been taken advantage of - ( I've also never been charged 5$ for almond shaped nails anywhere) Long story short is make sure you're clear with your nail artist what you want and SUPERVISE exactly what they are doing or you will be over charged for the owners mistakes.
