We had a larger party, but it was easy to get a table. We did family style and got a variety of things. As a starter, we got both the meat and veggie Sambusa. They were crispy, light, and very flavorful. Even if you're not a fan of lentils, the veggie one was more flavorful than the meat one. Definitely worth a try. We also shared the Awaze tibs, veggie combo, and plenty of injera. We didn't get any spice added to what we ordered, but there was no lacking flavor! We ate with our hands, using the injera as a scoop for the food. There's a dedicated sink to make sure you're able to clean your hands without waiting for the restroom, which was nice. The service wasn't great, so make sure you come on a day you're not in a hurry. I don't fault our server, I think she was the only one working that day. She was very helpful in helping us pick different items. Anyone looking to branch out should definitely give this place a try!

Injera is delicious. The lentils are great. The doro wat was spicy and savory. The one thing I don't like is that they charge for water. I would rather just be served tap but being charged 1.75 or so for each bottle of water when they don't serve tap is annoying especially when there's such an upcharge on it. Definitely will keep coming back for more delicious Ethiopian food.

It was a lot of food! We had a group of 7 people & it +appetizers was the perfect size for everyone. It was really fun to sample everything too - there were definitly some standouts like the door wot and the beef kibbe. The sambusas were also delicious! Definitly a standout. The honey wine was good too. Ambiance was very nice. It felt intimate and small. I do think service was a little slow. It took little bit for the food & towards the end of the meal we had to flag down the waitress a few times. Overall a good experience though. Definitly worth a try

Ah man... where do I even begin?…read more We arrived around 8:05 PM, and our order was taken right away. We ordered 4 beef sambusas and 1 vegetable sambusa as appetizers. After 10 minutes, nothing. Another 10 minutes passed, still nothing. The restaurant wasn't even busy, just one family there before us. We finally got our appetizers at 8:28 PM, and at that point we still hadn't received our entrees. Another 10 minutes went by with no food. We tried to be patient, but we were really hungry and had driven all the way from Katy for this. My mom was fasting, and we were expecting a nice dinner, but the experience was honestly disappointing. Our entrees didn't arrive until 8:48 PM. We ordered the lamb injera, and it was honestly terrible. It had no seasoning, no salt, and just looked like it had some yellow coloring. The injera itself was cold, almost icy in some spots. On top of that, there were barely any meat pieces, maybe 4-5 small pieces, which is ridiculous for a dish that costs around $27-28. We also ordered a chicken dish, which was actually the only decent part of the meal. But it's definitely not worth coming here just for that. The prices here are high, and we were fine paying for good food. The problem was the long wait time and the poor quality. Overall, a very disappointing experience.

If you're feeling horny then come to the Horn Of Africa Deli for some of the best Ethiopian type food you can imagine. The prices are so much cheaper than places like Lucy, and the tastes are delicious and homemade, with hefty portions (that will not end up in a hefty bag) for next to nothing. Definitely one of those little hidden gems that you would never try unless you come on Yelp (but not sexually) or happen to be in this awesome plaza which also has great Thai and Viet. And no, it's not full of Horny Africans. Not all the time, anyway.

I've been there twice so far and both times, I've ordered the Curry Basil Chicken with Rice (#24 on their menu) and both times it was outstanding! I had all of the intentions of trying something else on my second visit; however that #24 was just too fantastic for me to pass up. I think it was like $11 if I remember correctly, but man, it was a lot of food and it was hot, fresh and made when I put in my order. It's truly enough food for two people; however I must confess that I polished it off by myself on both occasions because it was so good. I did have a tiny bit of "Catholic Guilt" about that so I just put in a few more thousand steps on my Fitbit to make up for it.

There was low music and everyone was pretty much minding their own business. The hostess was cool. The hours on Google were off, they actually close at 9pm and not 10pm (this is listed on the door). Regardless she took my order and without gripe or making me feel like I had burdened her. I offered to leave given the hour mismatch and she still took my order. Host reassurance and desire to help was nice. Waiting in the main room was uneventful, there's a TV playing (I think it was muted), there was music playing. The wait was about 15 minutes. I took my food to go because I felt bad about the hours confusion. But I could smell it. It smelled so good. I got the spicy fish and the vegetarian dish. I am telling you it's been a long time since I enjoyed a meal. The fish, potatoes, greens and lentils- it was so good. My stomach was full but my mouth wanted more. I ate way too much. I regret NOTHING. The portions were sizable. I could have made 4 adult plates and 2 child plates with the 2 dishes I ordered. Given that, I think pricing was more than fair. I'm going back. This place should have more stars. Food quality? It was delicious, fresh, and good quality. No photos because I ate it too quickly
