I wanted the service thinking it would improve my look and the woman at the front desk outlined a procedure where I'd get a link and fill out forms for two (2) purposes. Another part of the instruction(s) were it could and had to be completed in a certain timeframe to get the appointment. I even picked out a preferred appointment date. As for the price I was told "here it is" on a small piece of paper handed to me. I also asked the Receptionist's name and they (she) did the same thing. That is, she wrote her name on a small piece of paper. I had high hopes for filling out the Online forms in Valarie's- that was the Receptionist's name- but encountered some delay. The forms were very extensive. Still, I recall getting it done in about three (3) days ... roughly a weekend. I also paid. As it got closer to my preferred appointment date I picked up the phone and called. I spoke to that same woman on phone who said I did not have an appointment. Talk about "gaslighting." She argued with me about all kind of things she said she "told me" that day I talked with the nurse. She started saying I didn't pay and referred to "the Contract." Scary feeling to realize I was tricked into the signing of a Contract when I was "told" to fill out forms. I did not realize how bad things suddenly seemed until I tried talking to her for my appointment. I told her I did pay. Immediately in a mean voice she wanted to see bank records from my bank. I had a gnawing feeling this place is not for me. I was nearby so went inside with some bank evidence to show her- that awful Valarie- but she didn't want to look at it, refused to look at it, and mentioned "the boss" would be the one to look at it. Things spun out of control and I told her the obvious that she was "rude" to me. She countered saying Zi was- she seemed to be grasping at what she could say about me- and settled on calling me "aggressive." I could not believe how poorly I was being treated. About a day later a nice manager called and smoothed things over. In the interim I read a lot of online reviews which, had I seen them earlier, I would not have made the mistake of trying to be a customer here. I will say the manager who phoned me was very professional.

I'm genuinely disappointed writing this because I came to this salon through family referrals and…read morewas very excited -- but also very nervous -- for my first professional color appointment. This is actually the exact reason it took me so long to even decide to color my hair in the first place. I was worried about ending up with something too highlighted, too chunky, or not natural-looking. I trusted this salon because my family members go there, and because the stylist reassured me multiple times that she fully understood the soft "expensive brunette" look I was trying to achieve and could absolutely do it. I spent a long time explaining and showing inspiration photos for a very specific look: soft, blended "expensive brunette" dimension with subtle low-contrast color and soft layered shaping. The photos I showed were rich dimensional brunettes -- not chunky, stripy, or heavily highlighted. Unfortunately, the final result looked much brighter, chunkier, and less blended than what I had requested, and the haircut also did not reflect the layered V/U-shaped look I asked for. Because this was my first professional color service, I relied heavily on the stylist's guidance regarding timing and expectations. Before the service even began, I specifically expressed concern about whether there was enough time to fully achieve the look I wanted, and I even offered to come back another day entirely so the stylist would have more time to work with me and not feel rushed. I was repeatedly reassured that there was "plenty of time" and told not to worry. Since I had never had a dimensional color service before, I trusted that assessment. Unfortunately, the appointment ended up running extremely late anyway, the salon was closing by the end, and I never really had a proper opportunity to sit down and fully evaluate the final result before leaving. However, once I did get home and properly see my hair, I knew immediately that it was not what I had asked for. I actually contacted the salon shortly after the appointment because I knew almost immediately it wasn't what I wanted, but shortly afterward I experienced serious health-related circumstances and was unable to return within the normal correction timeframe. Months later, once I was finally able to address my hair again, I called hoping to work something out. What disappointed me most was how dismissive and defensive the response immediately felt. Before I could even fully explain the situation, it became clear there was no willingness to work collaboratively or even discuss possible solutions -- despite the fact that I fully acknowledged the time that had passed, explained the serious health-related circumstances that delayed my return, and specifically offered to pay again if needed. If you are specifically a brunette looking for very soft, blended, low-contrast dimensional color, I would strongly recommend making sure the stylist you book with truly specializes in that aesthetic. At the very least, I believe clients spending this amount of money should feel there is some willingness to work with them respectfully when the final result clearly does not align with the inspiration photos provided.

One suggestion: instead of having the TV stuck on an advertisement channel selling smiles and pain relief products, it might be more enjoyable to have a Netflix show on repeat or some music playing. You've got teenagers working here, so I'm sure they could easily set that up. But really, it's just a small thing. The salon is family-owned and operated, so the atmosphere is more relaxed, as you'd expect. My mother and I came in without an appointment and were seated right away. The technicians took their time and did a thorough job. It was nice to feel relaxed and pampered. I'll definitely come back when I'm in the area again.

This time around, I was cut pretty severely, my cuticle got sanded off by a spinning tool used carelessly. It was quite painful for several days. The lady who did it barely even mumbled an apology. Pretty sure many of these practices are not allowed by the health department....
