We had such an amazing experience at the beautiful and welcoming Frisco Birth Center for both births and formed a truly special relationship with Margie that will never be forgotten. Margie is an incredibly kind, gentle, supportive, knowledgeable, and professional midwife who genuinely cares about her clients in a way that is rare in any medical setting. Throughout pregnancy, she promptly answered any questions or concerns that arose, even making herself available between visits as needed, despite her busy schedule. Our older children came with me to prenatal appointments and they adore her as much as we do! She took the time to teach them and let them get involved in finding baby's heartbeat and position, which helped them get so excited to meet their new sibling. Leading up to the birth, we had some unusual findings in one of the blood samples that were run, and she put in extra time and effort to help us find the answers we needed to feel confident in our birth plan. There was also a risk of hemorrhage, but she wisely helped us weigh all of our options before, during, and after the birth so that we could have the safe and beautiful delivery we hoped for. Margie and her assistant midwife, Neta (who is also wonderful), accurately assessed the health of both mom and baby and responded quickly and professionally to any concerns that arose, including a very fast transition and delivery and maternal bleeding. We felt completely safe and empowered throughout the entire process because of Margie's clinical skill and compassionate demeanor. Birth can be unpredictable, and we felt well-informed and supported through every decision. After the birth, her standard of excellence continued, as she made multiple home visits to check on mom and baby and helped empower us make the decisions about his health we were uncertain. We are so grateful to know Margie and would highly recommend that others make the same choice if they are looking for a kind, gentle, trustworthy, skilled, and dedicated provider who truly cares.

If you are seeking kind, compassionate, evidence-based care and an empowering out-of-hospital birth…read moreexperience, look no further than Margie Wallis and Frisco birth center! My first birth was at a hospital and after doing thorough research, I realized that I deserved better than the care that I had received and knew that I needed a different experience. For my second birth I gave birth at Allen Birthing Center which was fantastic! This third time around, I decided to do several interviews of midwives in the area. I felt an instant connection to Margie and I knew that I wanted to go with her. I was having some financial issues at the time but she allowed me to make a payment plan and get a substantial discount. She really does care about people and want to help in any way possible. If you have formerly received obstetric care, I think you'll find that out-of-hospital midwifery care is a night and day opposite experience. Obstetrics focuses mostly on the baby and is very fear-based. Margie is very holistic in her methods and believes in the woman's body's capability to birth. She knows that the mother's emotional state is just as important as what is going on with her physically. Through our appointments I let her know my goals for my birth, including my desire to birth in an upright position. She made sure that all of my wishes were respected and I obtained the ultimate birth experience that I desired! I am forever grateful for her and consider her a friend. Ladies, please don't be fearful! Our bodies were created for this. Should a hospital transfer be desired or necessary, there is always a plan B and C for those scenarios. If you are having trouble getting your husband on board, I highly recommend having him watch "The Business of Being Born." Midwifery care is actually MUCH cheaper than standard prenatal care and hospital birth. If you choose Margie to help fulfill your prenatal, postnatal and childbirth needs, you cannot go wrong! Highly recommend!!!

I never leave reviews but I wanted to put this out there for anyone who may be anxiously searching…read more for treatment. Dr. Riley is very kind and knowledgeable. While their office is busy she makes time to offer great care. I ended up having a 5.5 inch or 14cm fibroid on my uterus and she was able to remove it and my scar is barely even noticeable. Post op has been quite a journey but the hospital they pair with definitely makes recovery even easier their nurses/staff are wonderful. Dr Riley even came and saw me the very next morning to ensure I was feeling okay before I was discharged. And accommodated me for multiple post op appointments to ensure I was healing properly. She's funny personable and even gave me two printed laminated copies of photos of my fibroid! Lol. :)

She was very honest in her answers and always gave me a choice to decide for myself. She wasn't dismissive or pressuring. I didn't like not having more ultrasounds, but I guess when everything is going well there's no need for them as often. The ladies upfront are 50/50. Some are very nice no matter what's going on and others you can kinda tell when they are frustrated. But hey we are all humans, none of them have ever been mean or rude to me though. I love Dr. Ellis' nurse she has been there for my 2nd and 3rd daughter. The personnel has been pretty consistent and stable in my experience.

I have no other words but to say I tried to stay with Dr. Bailey because of her professionalism but this fourth encounter of being at least 35minutes late to an appointment and not even an iota of concern (or and apology) due to the time is sad. Moreover, the NP clearly offered me two medical procedures and did not even pay attention to my age or read my chart. I have that witnessed even though the NP attempted to write my chart up as a future medical (mind you 7 years from now). Dr. Bailey thank you for taking care of ME. I truly do not believe your staff recognizes their lack of emotional intelligence portrayed.

TLDR: THEY FORCED ME TO GET A PAP SMEAR AT 19 YEARS OLD!…read moreThis place does not care about the consent of their patients. I've been getting my birth control prescribed from this place for 2 years. I am 19 years old and every time I have been to this place, I have not been treated well, and the staff does not communicate well at all. THEY FORCED ME TO GET A PAP SMEAR. I went in for my regular check up a few months ago to get a renewal on my birth control prescription. That was the only thing I scheduled my appointment for. I come in, they told me I had to get a "wellness check," in order to get my prescription. I told them that was fine, but that I did NOT want a pap smear because I hadn't been sexually active for over a year. My mom also coached me to tell them "no" if they wanted me to do a pap smear (but I was alone at the appointment). I told the nurse I didn't want to do a pap smear, and that my mom didn't want them to do that to me either. Well she tells me, "That's fine, we can cancel your appointment right now." Mind you, I'm already in my appointment, I've changed into the gown, she's like inspected my breasts and stuff already. I'll never forget how horrible and uncomfortable I felt when I knew that in order to get my birth control prescription that I came here for, I was going to have to have a metal device stuck up my vagina. According to the CDC website, Planned Parenthood website, and every single person and website i can find: YOU DON'T NEED A PAP SMEAR UNTIL YOU ARE 21! (unless there are extenuating circumstances). I have no STDS, unusual discharge or anything abnormal going on in my vagina. They knew this, and still forced me to go through an incredibly exposing and uncomfortable experience. I've never had a fear toward any doctors or nurses. I always trust them. But after this experience, I'm now leaving this review because months later I am still shocked and upset that they made me feel like I had to go through that. I always thought that if I had a female nurse, she is someone I can trust, be respected, and communicate with. Clearly not. I won't be coming back here and neither will my mom. This is not the OBGYN to feel safe and supported by other women.
