We recently welcomed our third child and had the wonderful privilege of having Margie alongside our pregnancy and birth journey for the second time. We had such an amazing experience at the beautiful and welcoming Frisco Birth Center for both births and formed a truly special relationship with Margie that will never be forgotten. Margie is an incredibly kind, gentle, supportive, knowledgeable, and professional midwife who genuinely cares about her clients in a way that is rare in any medical setting. Throughout pregnancy, she promptly answered any questions or concerns that arose, even making herself available between visits as needed, despite her busy schedule. Our older children came with me to prenatal appointments and they adore her as much as we do! She took the time to teach them and let them get involved in finding baby's heartbeat and position, which helped them get so excited to meet their new sibling. Leading up to the birth, we had some unusual findings in one of the blood samples that were run, and she put in extra time and effort to help us find the answers we needed to feel confident in our birth plan. There was also a risk of hemorrhage, but she wisely helped us weigh all of our options before, during, and after the birth so that we could have the safe and beautiful delivery we hoped for. Margie and her assistant midwife, Neta (who is also wonderful), accurately assessed the health of both mom and baby and responded quickly and professionally to any concerns that arose, including a very fast transition and delivery and maternal bleeding. We felt completely safe and empowered throughout the entire process because of Margie's clinical skill and compassionate demeanor. Birth can be unpredictable, and we felt well-informed and supported through every decision. After the birth, her standard of excellence continued, as she made multiple home visits to check on mom and baby and helped empower us make the decisions about his health we were uncertain. My first birth was at a hospital and after doing thorough research, I realized that I deserved better than the care that I had received and knew that I needed a different experience. For my second birth I gave birth at Allen Birthing Center which was fantastic! This third time around, I decided to do several interviews of midwives in the area. I felt an instant connection to Margie and I knew that I wanted to go with her. I was having some financial issues at the time but she allowed me to make a payment plan and get a substantial discount. She really does care about people and want to help in any way possible. If you have formerly received obstetric care, I think you'll find that out-of-hospital midwifery care is a night and day opposite experience. Obstetrics focuses mostly on the baby and is very fear-based. Margie is very holistic in her methods and believes in the woman's body's capability to birth. She knows that the mother's emotional state is just as important as what is going on with her physically. Through our appointments I let her know my goals for my birth, including my desire to birth in an upright position. She made sure that all of my wishes were respected and I obtained the ultimate birth experience that I desired! I am forever grateful for her and consider her a friend. Ladies, please don't be fearful! Our bodies were created for this. Should a hospital transfer be desired or necessary, there is always a plan B and C for those scenarios. If you are having trouble getting your husband on board, I highly recommend having him watch "The Business of Being Born." SUPER frustrated with Margie. This is our first baby and we wanted to have it with a good midwife. Our friend highly recommend Margie, so we were really excited about contacting her and using her for our first birth. After not being responsive with my texts and calls at the beginning, I was finally able to talk to Margie over the phone and got an appointment scheduled with her on a Sunday (even when we had family in town) because this is very important to us. We were on time to our appointment, as we didn't hear otherwise. Another couple was there waiting too and she texted Margie and Margie told them they would have to reschedule. We never were even contacted personally. Margie had told me that she was open all day Sunday and that we could choose a time. But she didn't even notify us about not being able to make it to our appointment. So my husband and I are taking all of these encounters as red flags and we'll be looking for someone else. If you are looking for a midwife who cares about you and your baby as much as you do, and who is reliable and responsive, maybe look somewhere else. Our personal experience with Margie was an extreme disappointment. read more

I'm a functional movement chiropractor at the Kinetic Centre Dallas and my wife and I had our baby here. Margie educates and offers material on all different subjects involved with pregnancy, birth and then your new baby. We were great on the health/musculoskeletal aspect and making sure my wife could still sleep and move well...but that was about it. Margie listens to what you want and works with you, guiding you with her expertise through the whole process. I appreciate Margie and all she did for us. DANGEROUSLY INCOMPETENT SCAM ARTIST: LAWSUIT PENDING AND LICENSE REVOCATION PROCESS IN PROGRESS Background : College educated parents with 3 children prior to this birth (with both Dr's and midwife experience). Her practice: Consists of her and 2 other midwifes (in training) which she will later tell you are not affiliated with her if a problem arises. She also has/had billing person which does absolutely nothing and leaves you to deal with billing and insurance (again distancing herself once she realized they made major errors) We have never been so appalled or disgusted at a place of business rendering a moment of expected happiness to an experience that will devastate anyone. Filled with lies, arrogant behaviour and medically dangerous manoeuvres. Most, if not all, people reviewing here are friends of her business (or paid people) including a chiropractor that she tried to send us to. Medical : - She is a CPM (high school educated) with a couple classes to get her license. While education is not a full measure of potential in this case it was clear. - Throughout the visits there were questionable recommendations and gaps in her medical knowledge that we noticed but again decided to trust her; she puts on a very plastic smile and tries to portray a kind personality (truly far from it) - Discovered multiple hurdles of surprise limitations to her practice (not listed in her agreements) such as you must have certain level of Fe content in your blood or else SHE COULD NOT DELIVER THE BABY. She searches for a path NOT to have to deliver and just send you to the hospital so her workload is much less. - Approaching the last week enter dilatation checks. NOT ONLY WAS IT EXTREMELY PAINFUL WITH SCREAMING THROUGHOUT THE HOUSE (UNLIKE ANY OF OUR 3 CHILDREN) SHE WAS OFF BY DOUBLE THE ACTUAL AMOUNT. We had no complications, this was supposed to be a simple check, and neither her nor the other midwives knew what they were doing. Her violent checks lead to pre-mature water breakage and eventually hospital. SHE CLAIMED WE WERE IN ACTIVE LABOUR AND THE DR. SAID THAT WAS NOT THE CASE. She later tried to cover it up by saying we went from 10cm (her claim) to 5cm in the 15 min car ride to the hospital !!!!! THIS IS MEDICAL INCOMPETENCY AT ITS BEST. IT ALSO EXPLAINS WHY SHE CLEARLY STATES SHE DOES NOT HAVE MALPRACTICE INSURANCE ON THE AGREEMENT. - Due to this we had to induce labour at the hospital since the newborn was at risk. - To compare medical details we tried to log on to the portal she provides only to find she had disabled our account . Her excuse: she thought we dropped care with her. After many txt messages she finally re-opened access when warned we need our medical information that she is not disclosing. We later discovered she added a follow up appointment while we were still not even discharged from the hospital and labelled it "NO SHOW" likely in an attempt to cover herself. - Her midwife took pictures of the birth in an invasion of our privacy, we had never asked for this and then she disappeared without returning our calls/tx ; all this at the request of Margie (the head designer of this scam). Only after realizing she was going to face legal avenues did Margie (months later) note she had asked her to delete them, apparently we are supposed to trust her to do that. Financial : In her agreement she asks for $5400 up front ($3200 deposit and the rest to be paid BEFORE DELIVERY) . WHAT BUSINESS DO YOU KNOW REQUEST PAYMENT BEFORE RENDERED SERVICES? WE LATER FOUND OUT FROM HER OWN MIDWIFE "PEOPLE DON'T WANT TO PAY HER" - SAYS IT ALL. WE ARE NOW LEFT WITH $10,000 + MEDICAL BILLS THANKS TO MARGIE WALLIS AND HER FAILURES. Her arrogant AND lying responses were to follow so we've given up on her ENSURING SHE NEVER PRACTICES AGAIN BY FILING TO GET HER LICENSE REVOKED ALONG WITH A LAWSUIT TO RECOVER OUR FINANCIAL DAMAGES. IN SUMMARY WE PAID $5000 TO HER FOR 3 HOME VISITS AND DRIVE TO THE HOSPITAL. We are sure she will try to deflect our comments from reality here but TRUTH IS TRUTH. read more

I'm very glad I went with Margie and her team for the birth of our daughter. I felt she would be the best choice for the birth I wanted, being I wanted a natural, evidence-based birth in a safe environment, instead of at a hospital with outdated protocols that are considered "best practice" where they prod at pregnant women unnecessarily, interfering with nature's process unnecessarily during labor, putting women and babies at greater risk for complications. She and her team were on the same page with me the whole way, and I felt supported and respected the whole time under her care. She always explained everything to me well and was supportive of my preferences. She and her team were very skilled and capable for the birth of my daughter. Margie helped me deliver my first child in July of 2018. While I was set on having a natural home birth the experience was overwhelming not knowing what to expect as with most new mom's. Margie was with me from the start all the way through postpartum. She was attentive and accessible; making sure to assess my needs and boundaries every step of the way. She helped me mentally prepare for delivery and was right by my side through 36 hours of labor. I know she was just as exhausted as me having been up all night prior aiding in the delivery of another baby that came early. She showed no signs of being tired; she remained calm and alert. I am so grateful for her energy and gift in life. She was my saving grace yet again after baby came, helping to avoid postpartum depression and maneuvering through the challenges of a first time birth. I could write a book about this woman. But I will end with I am proud of how she has embraced her calling in life to bless many families and bring happy healthy babies into this world one day at a time.
