Food and service. It needs significant improvements. I ordered 3 pupusas of bean and cheese. They didn't have any cheese.

Traditional Salvadorean Cuisine in the SFV!…read more Our first time trying Salvadorean food at this family owned restaurant in Reseda. Carlos gave us some great recommendations so we ended up trying pupusas for the first time. It's made with a homemade corn dough. It's thicker than a regular corn tortilla and stuffed with ground pork and cheese. They have a variety of fillings. You can add salsa roja, a flavorful tomato-based sauce or habanero sauce. Served with Curtido, a tangy, fermented cabbage slaw. So crispy, cheesy and filling. It came burning hot - I could barely hold it. But, I would definitely order this again! We tried Desayuno Típico, a traditional Salvadoran breakfast, which came with casamiento (beans and rice mixed together), Salvadorean style chorizo, fried plantains, 2 eggs, avocado, fresh cheese and Salvadorean style sour cream and homemade corn tortillas. If you're craving authentic Salvadoran comfort food made with love -- this is the spot!…read more The pupusas were perfection -- handmade, and stuffed generously with rich, savory fillings. I got the beans one, soooo good! Crispy on the outside, soft and melty on the inside... chef's kiss. Paired with the fresh cabbage salad and salsa, every bite was full of flavor. The pan con pollo was just as amazing -- tender, well-seasoned chicken with fresh veggies and bread that soaked up all the goodness. So hearty and satisfying! And don't skip the atole -- warm, comforting, and perfectly balanced. It felt like a hug in a cup You can truly taste the authenticity and care in every dish. Portions are generous, prices are great, and the overall vibe is welcoming and comforting -- like a home-cooked meal away from home. 10/10 Highly recommend if you love flavorful, authentic Salvadoran food.

Came in and there were a couple of people sitting down and eating and there were two ladies working, one behind the counter and one in the kitchen. The lady behind the counter said Hi to me and then asked me if I needed help and my coworkers were going to place an online order but their machine was out. So, luckily I was there and notified them to call and place their orders. I ordered one rueveltas (spell check!) and one queso, they were both delicious and not too greasy and the sauce was amazing and their horchata was also very good and not too milky. The lady even helped me carry all our orders to my car and was very helpful and none of our orders were incorrect! I wish I wasn't working also or else I would've ordered a michelada or a Modelo!!! But, I can save that for next time!!!!

We always order at least two to eat there and at least two to take home. I will call ahead and pick them up if I am driving from the LA to Oxnard/Ventura. We always make sure to get extra crutido (pickled slaw) and salsa. I have been a loyal La Nueva Fogata customer as their pupusas have always been consistently delicious. I also like their Yucca n chicharron, and ensalada drink. My only negative is not very clean...I think this is because it is so old, but I just stay focused on how good the pupusas.
