    Pollo de tamale
    Jenny T.

Came in here to try their tamale. Growing up, I was always a huge fan of Salvadoran tamales. They are so hard to find so I was happy to see this place. It was right next door to my appointment and I thought I'd give it a try while waiting for my mom to finish up with her pedicure. They are $3.50 per tamale and it took approximately 10 minutes for my order of two to come out. I think they were steaming them. The restaurant was quite large and there was only one other customer there at about 4 PM on a Thursday. They had the ARV playing on the TVs and have bar seating. The service was friendly. Tamale is 8.5/10: it's packed with a lot of really fun, filling items, like a green bean, potato, olive, and hominy with white meat chicken. The chicken is a little bit dry. But the tamale is very flavorful!

Every country has a one or more hallmark item or dish that is unique to its people, culture and cuisine. For El Salvador, one of these selections is the Pupusa. There are many varieties of this round flat dough offering, that is available with different stuffing choices. They are on special, Monday and Wednesday. On other days they are $4.99 a piece. While I have had the many varieties, my favorite is the one with refried black beans. Though simple, this small restaurant provides generous amounts of beans, so that this taste and not the dough, dominate every bite. Thus, the pupusa, when combined with the accompaniments of curdito, pickled onions and two salsas (both rojo and verde), really hits the spot. Need to go back to try their Salvadorean tamales, served only on Fridays.

Restaurant prefers Zelle or Cash. Fee for credit cards Located in a small corner plaza on Tampa and Roscoe. Parking can be limited. Restaurant does have at least 1 reserved parking spot. Ordered 18 pupusas for a party, total with taxes was 88$ . So about 5$ per pupusa with tax on average. Taste was authentic, order was ready on time and service was excellent and personal! Restaurant is cozy but spacious, great decorations and setup. This gives the location a warm , welcoming and authentic ambiance. Overall I like this pupuseria as the transaction and pick up was seemless and efficient compared to other locations.

My hubby wanted to satisfy my Salvy craving, so we hunted down Con Sabor and wow, did it deliver! We went in on the pupusas: 4 cheese, 1 revuelta, plus a warm, cozy sopa de pollo. Let me tell you... the name really matches the flavor. Everything was delicious, even the masa had that perfect taste and texture. We also grabbed the ensalada, and it was super refreshing the kind that makes you stop and go, "Okay, this is GOOD." Our to-go order didn't take long but was made to order , service was great. Parking was easy and accesible. This definitely won't be our last time here. Con Sabor just earned its spot as our new go-to Salvy spot! Gracias a todas por el servicio de hoy. Hasta la próxima.

I happened upon this place in my search to satisfy my plantains cravings. This did not disappoint! I was so excited by their platanos con todos dish (as seen in the picture). Salvadorian dishes don't have the spicy punch I am used to but it does have a simplicity that is crave worthy. A light crema with beans and plantains. The serving is pretty big and filling. I had two pupusas with it and I was uncomfortable afterwards (ate too much, but worth it!). My boyfriend had the machaca plate and said it was bland, but agreed that the pupusas were good! I loveeee that they serve the pickled goods and salsa on the side in a generous amount. Usually I get pupusas to go and I am always saddened by not having enough of the cabbage. Not the case here! They don't skimp out. The lady here was kind and quick to service us. The spot has that mom and pop feel with the essence of their culture. It's cute. Monday and Wednesday they have a special for their bean and cheese (frijoles y queso) pupusas - who doesn't love savings! A little interesting that we paid via Zelle.

10/10 Im mexican but I've had my share of salvadorian food.. this place is good.. the flavors are great. At first glance i felt like it was pricey. Portions are huge. I ordered the pupusa combo . 2 pupusas beans rice and a salad. Plus i ordered a side of platanos and crema . One thing I will say though not a fan of that crema they used . Like I said im mexican so im not sure if that's the authentic crema they used. Usually I've been given the buttery yellow crema at other places and honestly that's what I was expecting. I didnt care for this one it tasted like watered down american sour cream. The lady that took my order was super sweet and nice. They speak English which is a plus for whoever doesnt understand Spanish. The place was super clean and welcoming. Beware parking sucks . Based on what I saw they have total of 2 parking spaces. So yeah.

Authentic Salvadorean food! The pupilas were on point and the Yucca con Chicharrones was delicious! The salpicó was tasty as well! Juan did a great job serving and making sure all our requests were met promptly. Decor was definitely Salvadorean White & Blue!

I had been going to this restaurant because, honestly, the pupusas are good. I want to give credit…read moreto the kitchen staff because the food itself is what kept bringing us back. Unfortunately, this was not the first time they had issues. Several times our orders were wrong, and when ordering to-go, the salsa has tasted old and has made me and my family sick more than once. Because we liked the pupusas, we always made sure to ask for fresh salsa and reminded them about the previous problems. But what happened yesterday was the last straw. My ex-boyfriend of 17 years (now a friend) and I went there to eat. I went to the bathroom and saw a woman crying. She was obviously very intoxicated. I had only had one beer, and I asked her if she was okay because I was concerned. I won't share what we talked about because that was her private business. Suddenly, a man entered the women's bathroom and started questioning both of us, asking what we were talking about. I told him it was nothing, that I didn't know her, and I left. He also appeared to be intoxicated. Later, I was back at my table and ordered two more beers. The soccer game had ended, but people were still commenting about it, so I took out my phone to record a video for my boyfriend. The same man from the bathroom suddenly approached me and started asking me not to record him and the woman he was with. They became very upset because they were near the TV making out. The woman then asked if I was recording them because of what she had told me in the bathroom. She tried to grab my phone and told me I was recording them and that he could get in trouble. I told her not to touch my phone and that I would call the police if she tried again (which I did). Instead of handling the situation fairly, a man who appeared to work there (I know the owners are a Latino couple, but this man never introduced himself) immediately started trying to remove us. It felt like he knew the couple and was taking their side. A customer who was sitting nearby told them she saw my phone and knew I was only recording the soccer game. The couple kept demanding that I give them my phone, while this employee kept telling us to leave. Then our waiter took away the two full beers we had paid for and said they were closing. I told them: "First you messed up my food, and now you're telling me we can't drink the beers we paid for, while this couple who is clearly intoxicated can stay and continue drinking." The man still had a beer in his hand and was continuing to drink. Only after that did they realize the situation was being handled unfairly and asked everyone involved to leave. Today I tried calling the restaurant to get answers, especially because they refused to check the cameras after a man entered the women's bathroom and harassed me and the woman inside. Nobody answered. We will never return. I'm sharing this so people are aware of our experience. It is disappointing because we gave this place many chances despite mistakes with our orders and the salsa issues because we liked the food. But this situation was unacceptable. I wish I had pictures of the man and woman because of how upset they became thinking I was recording them, when I was only recording the game. Please be careful and make sure you are treated with respect no just in this restaurant but anywhere you go because we are paying customers and we are NOT ASKING THEM TO DO US A FAVOR
