Had my first massage at Mind and Body with Dana. I have had terrible neck pain shoulder pain for three years. I went to a masseuse once before and despite telling that person I had neck and shoulder knots they gave me a full body massage. Without me even saying anything, Dana immediately realized my neck, head, and shoulder were the areas that needed focus. She did an AMAZING job with my terrible knots. I feel great! I have had two massages at Mind and Body. One with Dana and one with Rebecca. Both worked on me for an extra long time, both worked out all of the tension in each area, and both made sure I was comfortable the entire time. The hot towel treatment felt amazing and each woman walked on my legs and worked on my back at the same time (which was just what I needed). Each time I left, I felt high. My husband bought me an hour massage at Mind & Body as a Christmas gift and I finally got to use it today! Rebecca is a very knowledgeable lady! I've had many massages before but nothing quite like hers. I was impressed with all of the different techniques she has acquired through her training and practice that she incorporates in to her work. I left the massage feeling more relaxed and educated on my own body. I'll be coming back for sure! I went to Dana for the 60-minute integrated Thai table massage. Dana has many years of experience and has vast knowledge of techniques from all over the world. I was my first visit and she really made an effort to understand my needs and work on my issues. (I have a serious back injury) I will be headed back. read more

If I could give more than five stars, I would. Based on what I told Rebecca about my physical needs, she immediately focused on my target areas and did not just give me a generic massage that most other masseuses do. The strength and amount of time that she devoted to these areas was really perfect. She used different techniques over the course of the massage based on what she felt my body needed. After the massage I felt that I really got the treatment that I needed, instead of wasting time on areas that were not as important. Two days after the massage I feel much looser and better! I really enjoyed Thai bodywork with Rebecca. I'm not generally a spa person and have found the handful of table-based massages I've had at other places to be pleasant but not amazing. I liked the Thai bodywork a lot better - it was very relaxing, but also intense/effective. The treatment room was very peaceful, and Rebecca did a great job. I will be back! read more

My FIRST Yelp review! :) I get a massage every 1-2 months and have tried multiple downtown locations and the Royal Treatment with Victoria is THE BEST massage I can ever recall. It was a combo of different massage techniques that I think may especially appeal to athletic types but I suspect has universal appeal. 90 fantastic minutes!! First and foremost, I did not gets chance to review this place the first time I went. Based on yelp reviews, I decided to try it since I am not about paying for things I could care less about like fragrant lotions and saunas. I am all about massages and getting rid of work and stress related pain. I must say this place is definitely the place to go for deep tissue massages. The staff is courteous and I absolutely adore Rebecca (owner). She was very accommodating and very good at her craft. I came in wound up and tight as a rubber band and left feeling like jellyfish. My pain went away immediately. I love her pressure point and deep tissue massage. It was amazing. I've already bought gifts packages for friends and both who went are thumbs up for the experience and are definitely repeat customers. My favorite thing was I was not paying for the superficial spa type massages where I just get a lot of oils piled on and hot stones (though I do like them, not everyone uses them properly). The atmosphere was intimate and the staff once again were very friendly, welcoming and down to earth. They have strong fingers! THe type of massage I had the first time was a Thai massage with Porter, which improved my flexibility. My second time as with Rebecca and it was the deep tissue. Though both types of massage did wonderful things to my body, ultimately the deep tissue was the absolute favorite massages I've had in a long long time. My time and money was completely worth the gift purchases for myself and my friends. I will be returning for a third session! read more

The massage therapist was nice but the massage was very painful and not pleasant. My wife and I were in pain for several days after our appointments because the massage therapist focused to intently on "knots" that would not come out. Her apprpach left several bruises. As a result, we did not enjoy this experience as we hoped. read more

After twenty years in Northern California, I think I know a thing or two about what makes a great massage. Here, on the east coast, it's a little more difficult to find great ones. When I first moved here, I found a great massage therapist and, of course, she moved to California. Now, I've found Rebecca and all is well again. Rebecca is professional and runs a smooth business. It's simple to book online. And the massage is tremendous. She combines classic European technique with Asian and it works. She has great intuition. I consider myself an aficionado of bodywork and go for a swedish massage every 2 weeks as well as have acupuncture monthly. I am also a certified massage therapist myself and know good body work when I get it and bad body work when I get it too. With all the Groupons and Living Social vouchers for bodywork available, in addition to my regular practitioners I go to, I have also taken advantage of these. I have experienced the gamut with them. (Side note: i strongly encourage EVERYONE to research these places before you purchase!) I had never experienced a Thai massage and so, when a deal came up on LS, I decided it was time to give that a try and I am SO GLAD I did! I scheduled a Nuat Thai Massage and cannot recommend VICTORIA PORTER at Mind & Body enough! She was FANTASTIC! She is highly skilled, sensitive and very professional. My only regret is that I waited this long to try Thai massage. You need to go with an open mind as it very different from the massage you usually get from a spa (Swedish). It was the most intense, relaxing and satisfying body work I have ever had and, as I said, I have had a lot of excellent body work in the past. The location is odd, in an office space with other practitioners as well as lawyers(?). So, if a Toppers atmosphere is more important to you than a high caliber body work experience, this is not the place for you. The room where Victoria practices however was very comfortable and conducive to relaxation. Scheduling online is easy, they communicate well, were accommodating when I needed to change the date of my appointment and honored my voucher even past the expiration date which was very nice. I will definitely and happily be adding Nuat Thai massage with Victoria, (who accurately refers to herself as a massage artist) to my repertoire of body work!! read more
