Don't be fooled by dr. Jutlla and her friends writing in to yelp to say how great she is. It's a rebuttal to my first review. The place is completely disorganized. Always having disputes about the bill. Even though it is required you pay at the time of service. She would write up contracts for us to sign but wouldn't give us a copy. And would judge people in this letter saying - something about if you can't pay your bill but drive a fancy car or carry a fancy purse then you better pay up. She was all together unprofessional. If you have the option I wouldn't step foot in this establishment. read more

I have been living with chronic pain for many years. The pain is a result of a combination of multiple little injuries and basic body deterioration. I was diagnosed with multiple herniated discs and arthritis, which was pinching some nerves near C6. The pain was excruciating and debilitating. I had surgery finally to fuse two levels of my cervical spine, C5-6, and C6-7. Dr. Jayashree Srinivasan was recommended to me by a colleague, who is one of Seattle's most prominent neurosurgeons. I had consulted with quite a few other physicians, and none of them were able to diagnose the root cause of my pain. Because she was a neurosurgeon, her eyes were trained to see these types of pinched nerves, where other doctors would miss it. After the surgery, my pain had subsided drastically. I was finally able to move my right arm without the zinging sensation, and the strength started to return as well. However these surgeries are fairly dramatic, and a lot of residual damage had been done. I am left with pain that may be with me for some time. It is like the roommate that never pays the rent, makes messes everywhere, and is constantly yelling in your ear. It is quite difficult to go about your day when this is occurring. I am able to take some muscle relaxers (methocarbamol), medication for the nerve pain (lyrica), and anti-inflammatory medication (sulindac). This combination is great for reducing the inflammation and healing the nerves. I also continue to do physical therapy and massage to calm the muscles. However, none of these therapies are able to do a significant job at reducing my pain level. The pain killers (oxycodone) are the most effective at actually reducing my pain level. I am very careful to monitor my dosage in accordance with her guidance.  I appreciate that she is very conscientious about only prescribing me the least amount possible. I am grateful that she encourages me to pursue other therapies, like massage, acupuncture, physical therapy and pain injections to cover as much ground as possible. Nonetheless, they are called pain killers for a reason, they are really good at doing the job of killing the pain. She helps me be aware of the connotations of taking these medications, meaning people could likely steal them from me, so she continues to educate me on the proper care of my medications, like keeping them in a secure location so they won't be stolen. She also ensures that I am aware that it is a serious medication, meaning that I should only be taking them in careful consideration of the implications and ramifications of taking these types of pain killers.  I also appreciate how much she cares about me as a person.  She is so caring and compassionate, and I know that she is being my advocate and helping me be a great person that can contribute positively to the community. I am an Enterprise Data Architect and need to have my full cognitive abilities in order to do my job. I can honestly say that without the care that she gives me, I would likely lose my job, but instead, I am thriving! read more

Doctor Jutla and team are amazing. Dr Jutla is the only doctor that has helped me. I'm so happy I found her after the doctor that did my surgery did major nerve damage. She saved me in so many ways. I have no clue what these other posters are talking about, I've never had these problems in the years I've been going to MYBC. If you don't follow her strict rules on the medication contract is the only way you'd be asked to leave so maybe ask yourself why someone would complain about a pain clinic. Hhhhmmmmm read more

I found Dr. Jutla to be very dismissive in nature. She seems to sit on a very high horse indeed. Also the office billing is very disorganized. The front office is more concerned with collecting payment from the minute you walk in the door. I would not recommend seeing this clinic. read more

PILL SEEKERS BE WARNED I have a unique view of Mind Your Body Clinic and of Doctor Jutla as being one of her very first patients back in 2007 or 2008. I had come a general practitioner that had me deep into opiate addiction without realizing it. Probably why my first doctor lost his license. My first meeting with her she informed me that I was taking enough opiates to take down a herd of elephants. At first like all opiate users with a physical addiction, I was frustrated by her treatment plan to reduce my opiate totals and her insistence to try other methods of treatment. Then after a short few months, I realized that Dr. Jutla saved my life. I learned a lot in those first few months about opiates. About how many and how strong my prior doctor had me taking. Opiates are never a solution on their own and it is a rule that Dr. Jutla enforces. She was able to reduce my opiate intake by 75% after she gave me my first neural spinal implant. The idea of always increasing your opiate intake is NO solution. Eventually you will get no relief from opiates when you truly need them to be there. I moved out of state for a few years and ended up in yet another pill mill in California. He completely disregarded the care of my implant and just wanted me to come in monthly for my RX refill and required me to have a spinal injection every 3 months whether I needed it or not. He had a special van pick up his patients to go to a surgical clinic to be put under for the shot and then dropped us back off at home. It was a pure business for him and by requiring the spinal injections every few months, he was able to defend the opiates he prescribed. I moved back home and was so happy that Dr. Jutla took me back and once again had to clean up another provider's mess. She recently helped me with my upgraded spinal implant and still been able to keep my opiates levels at a third of what I started with over a decade ago when I first walked through those doors. I was in opiate trouble and did not even know it. I have no doubt I would be dead today if Dr. Jutla was not my pain care provider. I am currently fighting a heart condition that would have been fatal if I was still on my initial opiate prescriber regiment. That is not even the years she gave back to me being physically active by truly diagnosing and treating my condition versus the coverups that blind mass opiate prescribing does (The crime of the providers I had in my lifetime of treatment). I have seen a lot of her patients come and go throughout the years. I have become a master at spotting out those "patients" that are just pill seekers. If you are one of those people, then be warned that she can spot them easier than I can. Those are usually the people that write the poor reviews or get nasty when they get caught and Dr Jutla will not give them their score. At the same time, she truly cares for her patients. She is required to hold a line in today's opiate scrutinizing world. So I have seen it truly affect her when she has to let go a long term patient for not obeying the rules. In this new world where pain doctors are persecuted, while drug pushers on the street corner are protected, we as patients have a responsibility to protect our providers by living up to the agreements and the rules established. It is also our responsibility to spot those bad reviews by the pill seekers getting caught and correct the record by providing your voice of truth. I have made similar reviews at other sites whenever I catch a bad review by a pill seeker that got caught by Dr. Jutla. The pill seekers will usually claim I am a staff member or a fried of the doctor to discredit me, but it is just not true. I am who I say I am. I was lucky to be able to corner one of those pill pushers about a year ago. She tried to claim I was a staff member or a friend of the doctor while she was harmed by the clinic. She made the mistake by allowing me to make direct contact (buy public) with her and told her that I would take a polygraph (and I gave her 5 local services to choose from) to attest that I was who I said I was and everything I wrote is true. In return I told her I was willing to pay her $500 in cash to also take the same polygraph with the condition that she allow me to publicly post her name and test result only if she failed the test. She immediately took down her reviews and never heard from her again. Bottom line is if you need a real caregiver and you are willing to do as she says, then you are lucky if you are able to get an opening. If you are a pill seeker, be warned now to just move on. If she does not spot you up front, she will spot you at your first visit and you will just go away empty handed. So, spare yourself the need to go thru that and stick to the street corner. read more

Dr Jutla was my pain management dr for a number of years. I was helped, though the process dealing with her billing and practice not only caused undue stress, but cost me thousands of dollars out of pocket. I was charged for in house procedures @ what I was told a greatly reduced cost. Between 1-2k per treatment. While being told insurance (l&i would never cover) knowing NOW they do, the proper paperwork just needs to be submitted. I was also my primary insurance could cover the procedure but I needed to pay upfront, once it was paid, I would be reimbursed my cash paid. NEVER happened! We would call the billing @ Jutla, then ours. Our insurance would report to us that the proper billing was not submitted, this cycle continued for 3 years. Us paying, getting in-house procedures, not being reimbursed, going broke and feeling stuck! Oh and the in-house procedures the DR had my WIFE at the controls of the needle currents! I was also told once to pay cash that day, @ a reduced price because the dr needed fertility treatment that day and SHE had to pay cash!!! After we figured out from Countless hours on the phone with our insurance and going broke, did we realize, billing was never going to happen, we weren't going to be reimbursed. Cut our loss and find a new Dr. was the only choice we had. We lucked out and found a doctor office that has cost us nothing! Billed either our insurance or LNI and have had better results and procedures with less pain and better outcomes. Find them, Look elsewhere for comfort!! read more

I have been experiencing pain for several years. In the last year I tried everything to avoid seeing a pain management Dr. Once I exhausted every Dr. tests and natural remedie, I finally took the advice from my GP Dr. to go see her. Dr. Jutla has been the closest to relieve me from what I have been going through. She has found some things that work for me. The Cortisone injections were amazing along with some supplemental medications. She is careful as she knows I don't want to be drugged up. Pain is hard to work with and is an art for each person for her to figure out. I believe we are on the right track until I can find a Dr. that can help fix the problem. Shelley read more

Chronic pain sucks, but if you happen to find someone who knows her stuff, it makes all the difference. I have been seeing Dr. Jutla for over 3 years now and have been so glad to have found her, She is well trained and keeps up with the latest treatments so that if one isn't working well enough, she is able to offer others. I have had new procedures that took away pain that other treatments from "regular" doctors have provided. Her office is crowded but pain management doctors are hard to find and good ones are even more difficult to find. She doesn't have a Physician's Assistant or Nurse Practitioner so she takes the time to work up her patients herself, spends the time with each patient. I get the time I need. I have never had a problem with my insurance,my chart,my treatments,nor my procedures. We have a great working relationship, based on mutual honesty and consideration. DR JUTLA GAVE ME MY LIFE BACK. Before finding Dr. Jutla, I suffered from debilitating chronic migraines that kept me from performing basic tasks many days each month. I had been to the ER over 40 times. I haven't been to one in almost 6 years. Through the inevitable ups and downs of migraine cycles, my migraines have been managed with ever greater success, and MY USE OF MEDICATION HAS DECREASED. The name Mind Your Body is fitting for many reasons. This is one: MY MIND FOUND RELIEF EVEN BEFORE THE PAIN IN MY BODY WAS RELIEVED. At my first visit, I experienced something precious that I hadn't received from any other doctor...and, sadly, from very few friends or members of my family: reality-based empathy. DR. JUTLA DIDN'T MAKE ME FEEL GUILTY, WEAK, OR DISOBEDIENT FOR HAVING CHRONIC PAIN. I had chronic pain in another area of my body for several years before seeing Dr. Jutla, and it was managed and gradually diminished until it was completely gone. IN 8 YEARS AS A PATIENT, I have never encountered a medical or administrative assistant who was difficult to deal with. I have never had a problem with insurance or financial matters. To the contrary, they have gone to bat for me on insurance issues. THEY HAVE BEEN PATIENT, COMPETENT, AND CARING -- NO EASY TASK WHEN WORKING WITH PEOPLE IN PAIN ALL DAY. After working with numerous doctors -- all well-intentioned, I think, but not truly competent in the realm of pain management -- I CONSIDER DR. JUTLA "FOUND TREASURE". She was the first to clearly and patiently explain to me (1) how the sensation of pain in an area of the body is transmitted to our brains, (2) how the body changes when pain continues unchecked for a prolonged period, and (3) what various pain medications and procedures can and cannot do. Yes, there is paperwork to read and fill out, along with random drug tests and regular pill counts. But if a Dr. doesn't clearly state the privileges and responsibilities of both the Dr. and the patient, then I question the Dr.'s level of knowledge, attention to detail, and depth of genuine concern for patients -- especially in the field of pain management at a time when misuse of pain meds is epidemic. Update: the doctors reply to my review is a untruthful statement to try to save face. The expensive medication was only an issue because I came back 10 minutes after my appointment and was refused to talk about it until my appointment the following month and was told preauthorizations were no longer done at your clinic because you are only accessible during appointments, which in my lifetime you are the only doctor I've seen do that and it's sad that you don't realized that blatantly shows you don't care. Was reminded of that every appointment that you aren't supposed to call between appointments, who does that. As to respond about the medical records, the transfer was submitted in writing and was informed the you explicitly exceeded the allotted transfer window and were in direct violation of said statue you are trying to directly quote. I wish I read reviews before I saw her. This doctor wasted my time, over-prescribed narcotic pain relief, and her attitude of superiority was difficult to deal with. I saw her approximately 10 times, during which I was subjected to inappropriate personal disclosures, caught her in a lie, and even more disturbing, she admitted she was willing to commit insurance fraud (a felony)! The office was profoundly disorganized, the staff was unprofessional & poorly trained, and billing was a nightmare. I went seeking a diagnosis of the source of my pain. No diagnostic work was done, but I did leave the office with a prescription for narcotics. I asked what condition she was prescribing for. "Spinal arthritis." (Wha?) At this point I noticed she responded quite defensively to my questions as if I was challenging her, but I was curious as to how she arrived at that dx without an examination or any labs. She told me a certain percentage of the population has arthritis of the spine. I couldn't accept guessing as a diagnostic method, so she sent me to Renton for upright MRI (not exactly convenient as I live in North Seattle). She told me insurance would cover it - it did not, and the bill was over $1,200 out-of- pocket. Plus, I don't have arthritis. I took the medication as directed, but felt very over-medicated. When I tried to tell her, she interrupted me, reached for her prescription pad and said (and I quote), "Do you need me to be more generous?" HOLY MOLEY! When we discussed my jaw and facial pain, she suggested Botox, and told me that she would code the diagnosis as "migraine" as that is the only code that insurance accepts. I don't have migraines. Um, correct me if I am wrong, but isn't insurance fraud a felony? I was aching for relief, so I went to my next to appointment under the assumption she would treat me with Botox. When I saw her, I was told the Botox hadn't come in yet. The visit was a waste of my time, I left the office without the anticipated relief, and, to add insult to injury, I was charged full-price for an office visit. I went the following week as directed, only to be told she was waiting for insurance approval. I knew this to be untrue, as I received a copy of the approval statement from insurance 3 weeks prior. Again, I was charged for the office call. We rescheduled. I arrived, desperate for relief, only to be met with a "story" yet again about why she didn't have the Botox. I wasn't sure what was going on with the Botox because she didn't like being questioned. I left and never returned. I suggest you find a different doctor to treat your pain. This one is a mess. I consider her dangerous, and to be avoided - unless you are an addict looking for "generous" access to narcotics. read more

Despicable business and healthcare practices. To require a chronic pain patient to come in an hour before their appointment to read a ream of paperwork that they could have read in the comfort of their home is bad enough. But to include a clause DISALLOWING negative online reviews in the privacy practices section is beyond the pale. The doctor claims her paperwork has been gone over by a lawyer to be sure everything is in line, but I could point out multiple illegal practices, and many, many more unethical ones. Why require patients to take non-covered drug tests at their own cost if there are equivalent covered tests available? Disgraceful. This is a doctor treating patients who often have limited income due to disability who seems to take pleasure in forcing extra costs onto patients to satisfy her own need to be a control freak. If only she had made this paperwork available online, I could have avoided an unnecessary and PAINFUL trip and my husband wouldn't have taken the afternoon off work. read more

I first met Dr. Jutla 10/13 she was referred by my Primary Care Doctor. I was diagnosed with Cervical Arthritis authenticated by an MRI. I was in severe pain and unable to work. My career was my whole life. I am a Certified Veterinary Technician and very familiar with medical practice and terminology. I am grateful for the Staff at Mind Your Body Clinic all employees are professional, ethical and caring. My narcotic use has declined with steroid injections and conventional treatment. I have lost 14 lbs, swimming, and participating in light yoga. Dr. Jutla is an exceptional Specialist and has saved my life when I thought there was no hope. read more

Awsome and caring doctor. Im glad ive got to meet her to see the good my girlfriend has said about her. I had a disagreement with her over me acting poorly and i got to meet her face to face and im so glad I got to meet her and see how great and honest she is. I feel horrible about how i had acted before I met her. Ive wrote a few comments on here I thought. I can't find a few i wrote about a month and half ago . So maybe im doing something wrong . It's been a few years, but when I saw her, she was wearing a tank top, mid-calf leggings, and cowboy boots. I was shocked this was the doc. I'm 61 years old. I want a doc who looks like a doc, not some young girl about to go to a beach kegger! The office staff appeared nervous and jumpy around her... My entire experience was negative. She was condescending, and wanted to completely change my meds(because she didn't like the drug I was on), convince me to have a surgery that she was supposedly, and I quote her here, "the only doc in Seattle who could do this correctly on a regular basis", and rolled her eyes with a heavy sigh, and shook her head when I said, "no more cutting", and see me monthly(this was supposed to be a one time consult), and my doc nearly turned that part of my care over to her. I've been seeing Dr. Jutla since the Fall of 2013. Prior to Dr. Jutla I had seen 4 other pain specialists. I have what is medically called, "failed back surgery". Several years ago I had a discectomy & laminectomy at L5/S1. Initially the surgery provided some benefit, but I never came close to "pain free". It should also be noted that between my initial symptoms and the first surgery, a full year went by. The time lapse was due to the time it took to get into a neurosurgeon, try things such as epidural steroid shots, and then book surgery. My primary care doc did a good job of managing my pain - which is the only reason I was able to work or even function as a human the year leading up to surgery. The downside is that by the time I had surgery I was already on relatively high levels of narcotics. In the five years after my surgery I saw a number of pain specialists, none of whom had anything other than different drug combinations to throw at me. Some worked better than others, but none offered more than a very short term benefit (and those were the attempts that actually produced something positive). A year ago my pain started to ramp up to where I was close to not able to work (the only reason I could hold down a job is because I was able to work from home). Through tests another disc was found to be bad... Actually a sponge! (Test fluid injected into it squirted out in all directions). My neurosurgeon wanted to fuse the vertebrae together. My insurance company would not pre-authorize the fusion - which at the time really made me mad. I turned out to be the best "denial" I've ever had! My primary care doctor learned of Dr. Jutla from one of the new members on her team. Dr. Jutla is based in Seattle but does come down to Portland, Oregon once a month. My first visit with Dr. Jutla lasted two hours! I've never had that amount of attention from any doctor. She carefully reviewed all of my medical history and did an exam. She recommended a few medication changes as well as a spinal cord stimulator trial. No other doctor (pain specialist or otherwise) had even mentioned a spinal cord stimulator! The first trial I had I thought went great. I had an 80% reduction in pain! Dr. Jutla thought we could do better and worked to get my insurance to approve a second trial with a different manufacturer's stimulator. At the time I was a bit irked... Dr. Jutla was still "new to me"... Turns out the second trial was better than the first! In January of 2014 I had the stimulator permanently implanted (the one from the second trial). I've seen a huge reduction in pain (better than anything I have ever tried). My opioid usage is being reduced as fast as my body will allow (due to physical withdrawal). Over the five years I was in misery I had gained over 50 pounds... In the last five weeks I've lost 30 pounds just from being active again! Dr.Jutla has been a life saver. I would strongly recommend her to anyone with a chronic pain issue. I would also tell anyone new to the personal hell of chronic pain that there are no magic bullets. I was lucky after several doctors to find one who was able to find a treatment that worked for me. The only reason I made it this long was my primary care provider did an awesome job helping me deal with the pain as I worked through the various trials and tribulations. Whoever you see - give them time. Also know you need to be your own advocate. Ask lots of questions. Understand your options. If you have ANY concerns with your treatment plan speak up and make sure you are on the same page with your provider. If you are prescribed narcotics only get them from one doctor (or make SURE all prescribers know who is prescribing what). Always go to the same pharmacy. Develop relationships. Don't be surprised if at first you are treated like a "drug seeker". Unfortunately a lot of people use narcotics to deal with emotional (not physical) pain. Above all... Hang in there! read more
