I have never written a review before…read more I often think about reviewing Dr. Morris, but I worry about adding to the already high demand he's in--much like not wanting to share your favorite restaurant. Who wants to wait for a table?! But I'm trying to be a better person. I've sadly had the experience, many times, that psychiatrists aren't able to spend much time talking. I've come to understand that this has become normal because of the cost of care, insurance issues, and so on. As a mom of boys with ADHD, this has been very upsetting for me. I remember calling out one of my son's first psychiatrists for this exact reason. She didn't want to address the emotional side--just prescribe. I was informed by her that psychiatrists didn't have time to do psychotherapy. I wish I could say she was an anomaly, but she wasn't. And while I can empathize with how tricky it must be to navigate an overloaded, underpaid system, it still felt awful. This is why I'm amazed that I often feel like I get both talk therapy and medication support every time I see Dr. Morris. I've always been scared of medications, and he is so wonderful about remembering this, being understanding, and clearly explaining the science behind how a medication works, as well as any potential alternatives. His obvious understanding, fluency, and confidence are incredibly reassuring. And he doesn't do it in a dry, lecture-y way--he talks about it with the same passion he has when discussing Star Wars or Legos. Seriously, ask him about his LEGO collection. It's rare to feel truly listened to and to trust someone because they are so genuinely passionate about what they do. I honestly feel heard on any and all talk-therapy issues. You may wait 15 minutes for him--and that's because he will most likely go over with you too, making sure he fully listens. Actually, he's terrible. Don't see him. :P

He will not judge you and if you feel you are screwing up, he will be patient and warm. He is particularly intelligent and if he has personal anecdotes that are relevant to you, he's not afraid to discuss. Dr Morris is confident enough and humble enough to share his humanness. Go to his website and read that little blurb. if you like it then call his number and just listen to how calming his voice is. I've manipulated every psychiatrist I've ever seen [i'm not bragging...], but i knew from his website, his voice, and a brief conversation, i had to take him seriously, so in first session i told him all my sabotage antics and have been open like never before. He's the real deal. Mark Van Ness

Talk about a horrible experience. I filled out their info online in December and was told the…read moresoonest appt is 2/6 with Dr Joseph Burwell. Arthur made the appt then on 2/3 (today) I received an email from Arthur that my appointment has been cancelled. I called in and was told that they have an appt tomorrow (No way for me to make it) or I can come in some time in March. To summarize, I waited 2 months for an appt, that was cancelled 3 days before. This company does NOT CARE about your mental health. I recommend contacting a doctor who does. This place is more like a factory than a medical practice. Yelp needs a 0 star option for Savant Care Clinic in Redondo Beach. Their response is HIPPA won't allow them to "divulge" anything. What a joke of an answer. There is no HIPPA. I set an INITIAL APPT 2 months in advance only to get an email l 3 days before telling me it's cancelled and to call the office When I did they told me they can see me in March. ANYONE seeking this type of medical help should go to a real practice. Not a factory like this place. Good rIddance mr operations manager.

I would rate them - 5 stars if possible but I suppose one star will do. I have never, ever rated any business on Yelp this low and I have never written a review as long as this one, but they left me no choice. {{{ You don't need to read the rest of the review if you're short on time, but the BOTTOM LINE about Savant Care is I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM. In fact, stay away from them if your insurance allows it. We contacted Savant Care last week to try to be seen by Dr. Sonia Parikh. Based on our experience with their front-office, if you can call it that, they SERIOUSLY need to improve their new patient intake process and make it a priority to EMPATHIZE WITH PEOPLE WHO NEED YOUR ASSISTANCE. PLEASE GET RID OF THE WEB-BASED QUESTIONNAIRE AND "MATCHING OR SELECTION CRITERIA" that must be met in order to see Dr. Parikh. Instead, PLEASE have some COMPASSION to refer us to another doctor who you believe will be a better fit instead of telling us in monotone voice "YOU DID NOT MEET THE MATCHING/SELECTION CRITERIA SO YOU CANNOT SEE DR. SONIA PARIKH." We are normal people so we have feelings too. BTW...please fix your website so that both your "Feedback to Co-founder" and technical support-like ticketing system for assistance actually work. }}} A more detailed account of our experience below... We tried calling Savant Care three times to make an initial consultation appointment with Dr. Sonia Parikh. Their IVR system felt very much like calling a technical support number for a small software company. When I finally spoke to someone, it was quite obvious that their appointment and front office phone numbers are routed to some offshore personal assistant service in India. They will provide some American names, like Richard or BG, but you can immediate tell those are not their real names. Anyway, this guy sent us to their website, www.savantcare.com. We were prompted to create an account then we had to answer very personal and sensitive questions, but we answered them nonetheless. We did not receive any confirmation e-mail or anything to indicate when they'd get back to us and if the doctor will even see my wife. I finally called back after two days after not receiving any acknowledgement or call back. Another Indian guy told us in a tone like an offshore technical support representative, "You did not meet the matching (or selection) criteria" or something to that effect, therefore you will not be able to see Dr. Parikh." There was absolutely no kindness, no compassion and no empathy. It felt like we were calling to apply for a loan and that we didn't get approved for it. On their website, they claim to care a lot about their patients with "testimonials" from their existing patients. They even have these exact words on their website, "We are on a mission to change mental health care. Your feedback is very important to us. One of us will read and respond to your message personally. If for some reason you are not happy with our clinic and would like to be discharged and get the clinic fees refunded just say so." How can they claim to be on a mission to change mental health care if their office flatly tells you that one of the founding doctors, Dr. Parikh, won't see you because you did not meet some unknown criteria that a guy in India cannot explain what that criteria even means. But he was very quick to ask for my credit card for my co-pay even when I am just trying to make an appointment. I have absolutely nothing against offshore Indian answering services, BUT the impersonal, technical support-like experience is not reassuring especially for psychiatric treatment. Being told that my wife "did not meet some selection criteria and not eligible to see a doctor" that my insurance company referred me to is ABSOLUTELY A HORRIBLE WAY to treat potential patients.
