I initially saw him for a small hole in my eardrum and had a good first impression, but I was later quoted an extremely high surgery cost (~5500). Although the doctor may be in-network, the facility and anesthesia he uses are out of network. I went to him because I'd been suffering from chronic rhinitis and the internist at my university recommended him. Contrary to what my university's internist told me, Dr. Daneshrad was extremely dismissive and condescending. I use Afrin regularly due to severe nasal congestion. He told me to stop using Afrin completely and just breathe through my mouth instead, without understanding how I literally can't sleep while breathing through my mouth. I know Afrin use isn't ideal long term, but sometimes we can't avoid it and Dr. Daneshrad doesn't understand that. He can't listen. I don't even know where to begin with my experience here. From the nurses, receptionists to Dr. Daneshrad everyone is amazing. I came in as a last resort after visiting numerous doctors because my voice had been altered for a number of months and this doctor finally diagnosed me with vocal chord nodules after I had lost all hope. I went to Dr Daneshrad for a cronic sinus infection and inflammation. He immediately recommended surgery and sent me to his schedulers. I wanted a second opinion and found a doctor who took the complete opposite approach, recommended a series of antibiotics, a sinus flush regimen and an anti-inflammatory, Nasonex. After a few months, my sinuses improved and I don't need surgery. He did the exact opposite of the other doctor's recommendation and I could have had an unnecessary, painful, expensive surgery. My pulmonologist recommended I see an ENT doctor for a persistent cough. I checked our insurance website and found Dr Daneshrad's name listed as a participating physician and called the office to make an appointment. The process could not have gone more smoothly. I was able to provide all of my information and make an appointment for the very next week! The staff was very helpful and they have a very cool electronic email notification system where you can see all of your records, look at your next appointments, etc. interestingly enough they still call the night before to confirm your appointment despite the electronic system... A little redundant but the reminder is always helpful. Dr Daneshrad could not have been more pleasant! Obviously he knows his stuff and was able to make a recommendation for a medication that I could use to mitigate some of my symptoms. My return visit was equally as efficient. I was in the chair for less than 10 minutes but left feeling as if I had a complete understanding of what the plan moving forward was going to be. Overall, if you are looking for an ear nose and throat specialist help you with your medical situation, Dr Daneshrad's office is certainly worthy of your consideration. The office is very nicely appointed with a Southbay surfing theme and they even have a refrigerator of water for their patients. With so many choices to choose from in healthcare these days, I was very happy to see that this physician accepted my military insurance and treated me most courteously and professionally. I had the same experience as Eric L, around the same time frame in October. I went to Dr Daneshrad for a chronic sinus infection and inflammation, he did a 15 minute in-office exam, and sent me to Santa Monica office for a CT Scan. I asked if i could go to another lab closer to my home, and the office folks said he would not accept another lab CT Scan, he has his own equipment, that is more advanced, higher tech., whatever. I went reluctantly to the SM office had the CT Scan and he immediately recommended surgery and sent me to his schedulers. I told them i want hesitant about surgery and I wanted other options first. His schedulers proceeded to BOOK my surgery, without consulting me and called me to confirm my surgery date, then complained to me how hard it was to get the surgery approved through my insurance, which denied the original request. I had clearly conveyed I didn't want surgery, to the Dr. and the scheduler. Like Eric, I also wanted a second opinion and I also found a doctor who took the complete opposite approach, recommended a series of antibiotics (which Dr. Daneshrad said was old school medicine) and flushes. Additionally, I have requested copies of my CT scan at least 5 times. The office has claimed to mail it to my house, I have never received a copy. This last week, I asked them to mail it via certified mail, UPS or Fed Ex, I would pay for it. The front office claimed to not have that type of account. WTH, how do you run an office, with "the most advanced CT Technology" and you don't have a mail carrier, can't mail it COD. These are my records, that I was charged. I also could have had an unnecessary, painful, expensive surgery. My whole experience with this team has been unprofessional and don't trust them. read more

Last Friday, Dr. Daneshrad performed a septoplasty and turbinate surgery on me, along with endoscopic sinus surgery, a myringotomy tube in my ear, and a eustachian tube procedure. Not only is he kind, nice, and patient as described in other reviews, he is a damn good surgeon. After the surgery, all my pain was gone within a few days. In less than a week, he removed my nose splints(no pain at all), and I can breathe normally for the first time in my life! His staff is also wonderful and kind, especially Carol. Dr. Daneshrad and his staff provided me with all of the pre and post op information that I could have possibly needed, and answered all of my many, many questions. Recently had a balloon sinuplasty procedure performed by him. I have no complaints about the procedure itself, but was told that my insurance would cover the procedure. Imagine my surprise when I received a bill for almost $4,000 from him afterwards. Then I spent over a month trying to get his office to discuss this issue (calling every week). Finally they acknowledged that they should have found out how much my insurance would cover and agreed to lower my bill to $1,700. But I feel that is still ridiculous. Dr. Daneshrad treated me for hearing loss caused by a virus. He was professional, highly skilled, conscientious, kind, patiently listens, and even urged me to continue my active lifestyle -altering as necessary. Since my hearing loss caused vertigo, this gave me hope and the push to keep up with my normal exercise routine. I don't think I would have overcome my hearing loss so fast without his motivation and reassurance that my activities would not impact my hearing loss further. Was very pleased with Dr. Daneshrad. We were on a time constraint and he was able to see us within our time period. He came out to the waiting room to meet us and take us back to our room. This completely impressed me as this is unheard of when you have a dr's appt. My teenage son and I have both been to Dr. Daneshrad. He is a great doctor and we've been very pleased with his service and care. His office is beautiful and conveniently located with plenty of parking (Torrance Clinic). His staff is helpful and friendly. I started out with taking my 4 year old to see him to have tubes removed a previous ENT had put in. Dr. Danesherad and his staff were absolutely amazing with my daughter through her surgery! That led me to getting a consult of my own with him for constant sinus pain and pressure to the point it was painful to fly or dive. I ended up needing a balloon sinuplasty and just went for my 2 week follow up. The surgery went great. Minimal bleeding and absolutely no PAIN! I slept the entire day of the surgery but was up and about the next day. I was even able to go to Disneyland 2 days later. I had congestion for about a week but still no sinus pain like before. I even had a flight the week after the surgery and didn't need sudafed and had no pain. He is easy to talk to and takes time with his patients. I am so glad I had the surgery and don't have to deal with the constant pain anymore. I highly recommend Dr. Danesherad for kids and adults! read more
