I called about 6 lawyers and as soon as I mentioned my speed and the dreaded "suffolk county court" they ALL would tell me the same thing, "toughest county in the state of NY your license will be suspended no ands if or buts, the best thing I can do for you is reduce your suspension from a potential 6 months to 3 months maybe 2 if you plead guilty and we don't go to trial" I had lost all hope as I kept hearing the same thing from all these other lawyers, basically pay them to plead guilty (I thought to myself for that I just save my money and plead guilty on my own) but then I came across Brian Trodden he told me it was going to be tough to get the points reduce, let alone bring it down to zero (which is what I was hoping) but that he will try his very best....FINALLY a lawyer who gave me a glimmer of hope. At my suspension hearing he was able to get my full suspension down to a restricted license, that alone for me was a BIG WIN specially in suffolk county court. Fast forward 3 months to my court hearing (today) and the Police officer who gave me the ticket made his appearance in court (I saw our chances of winning dwindle in front of my eyes) the officer gave his testimony, Brian proceeded to cross check the officer. Long story short....Brian was able to find a discrepancy that left BOTH the officer and prosecutor in AWE!! The judge DISMISSED MY CASE! Not only was my Driver License suspension lifted with ZERO POINTS but Brian also saved me from hundreds if not thousands of dollars in court fees & fines. As the Judge got up from her chair she looked at me and said to me "You got yourself a great attorney" Yes indeed. My experience with Dan Gobetz could not have been worse!…read more At the time of sale, he never shared with me the evidence that the sellers had met the contingencies and it was not until after the paperwork was signed at the close that the sellers themselves asked me "do you want this documentation" - which in fact were not sufficient! After some discussion there was an agreement made about what they still needed to do - which Gobetz didn't document, thus ensued many weeks of haggling. This cost me time, money and aggravation. But it was only when I sold the property a couple of years later that I learned how poorly i was served. I'm not a lawyer, but several people who are and were familiar with the situation described it as "amazing" and used words like "incompetent" and "malpractice". Basically, it turns out he let me buy a house without informing me that it did not have a certificate of occupancy and with 2 open building permits! Evidently, its typical for the seller to be responsible for providing this but that standard clause in the contract of sale was omitted and Gobetz did not provide me with the information for me to decide if I was willing to take the premises without the Seller providing same. Consequently, when I sold the property the close was delayed for weeks and I had to spend thousands of dollars to close the permits and get the certificate of occupancy - stuff the former seller would have done if I'd had appropriate legal counsel. Bottom line... I will never use him again and wish you luck if you do!

Not only did it cost me $30,000 for the same result if I had represented myself, I was forced to pay the OPPOSING lawyer $7,500 due to Phil's negligence. The Judge wrote us saying, "Defendant (my ex) included a Statement of Net Worth for the Court's consideration, which gave a more comprehensive picture of the Defendant's financial circumstances. Plaintiff (me) did not include a Statement of Net Worth which limited the Court's examination of his financial circumstances. Accordingly, the Court shall award of counsel fees in the sum of $7.500.00 payable by Plaintiff to Defendant." Not only was I refused custody of my 14 year old son, who was begging to live with me, I was somehow forced to pay over $10,000 in 'retro' child support when I had paid, in full and on time, what I was required to by law up until the trial. I watched my ex and her lawyer commit perjury by telling lies, under oath. I had, in my hands, proof they were lying and Phil's response was, "It doesn't matter". You'd think someone who just got annihilated in court would want to present evidence of perjury. As stated by other reviewers, you'll be promised the moon and don't hold your breath waiting for return calls/e-mails. If you should be fortunate enough to get a response, expect direct questions to be dodged. Hire at your own risk. You'll quickly see his only concern is getting paid. He will not have your best interest in mind. Also on another site their family members have left 5 star reviews. Don't trust!!!
