We have been getting food from here for years. It is Always delicious and generous portions as well.

In my visits to Ming Chu, I have only ever ordered takeout. Usually they are pretty fast around lunch time having an order ready in 15 minutes or less. Inside there is not really a lot of places to sit and it would give an awkward feeling since it is primarily takeout orders so you would be watching a constant stream of people coming in and out while you are eating. Recently I have noticed the quality of the food going down while the prices are high particularly with the General Tso's chicken. The quality is almost like they are using frozen popcorn chicken that is fried and then covered in a premade sauce. Additionally, I tried their Singapore Chow Mei Fun hoping that maybe it was just one bad dish but this one was even worse. It was as if someone poured a Ramen Noodle seasoning packet on top of the noodles where it was just too salty to eat. Working in the area, many of my colleagues have had similar experiences in ordering lunch from Ming Chu and have found better options nearby. read more

The egg rolls and hot and sour soup were good. The shrimp with vegetables and the plain vegetables in the same sauce were good, too. The veggies were fresh and the shrimp, while not plentiful, were also good. The sauce was heavy on the corn starch and had s flavor I did not like. I ordered enough for leftovers--might rinse off the heave brown sauce and simply steam to reheat. The ambience was on the low end--looked ok clean, but more like a storage room than a pleasant place to wait for food. I'd give the ambiance a one. Service was good. This place has a better rating than other local Chinese places, but I don't think the bar I very high. I would return and would try some different dishes. The menu on-line is not the same as the actual menu. Nothing exciting about the menu. I called in my order-- I arrived on the appointed time and had a five minute wait which resulted in the food being hot and still warm when I got home. When I call to place an order, after I hang up I usually immediately head for the door. By the time I head outside my apartment, dodge my neighbor's dog crap on the sidewalk and head to my car, and drive the four blocks between me and Ming Chu, it's typically already ready and bagged. The prices are also good and you can't complain about the portions, the staff has always generally been friendly, if they just delivered like almost every other Chinese restaurant on the face of the planet, they'd probably be rocking 5 stars. Excellent but small place. Located in a shopping center that is mostly empty, this little place has been here about 17 years and going strong. It does NOT serve the same dishes that most Chinese places serve, and the ones that are named the same, don't taste the same. THEY TASTE BETTER!!! LOOK BETTER!!! and they are probably healthier here too! No wonder this place has been here 17 years. Hubby and I decided to give this place a try since the one we frequented shut down suddenly. This place is the only Chinese in town. We ordered basic dishes to see how they do. In our opinion, if you mess up a basic dish, you ain't worth it. I ordered Sweet & Sour Chicken and my hubby got General Tso. We ordered Vegetable Lo Mein for the kids. They were wonderful!! We were disappointed that they did not have Crab Rangoons or anything similar as that is a favorite in this family. They used to be cash only and have recently started accepting credit cards. I ordered on 06/22/2021 and I got the Moo Goo Gai Pan. When picked up my order, I was overcharged by $2.50. I explained I was overcharged and at first all she gave me was a bunch of fortune cookies to make up for the difference, when I said I didn't want those, she gave me $1 and kept saying "thank you, thank you" over and over. I just left and when I got to my car I saw that the box containing my rice was dirty on the outside, the chicken has some weird clear gelatin on it and the cabbage looked as though it hadn't been washed. I couldn't even eat it. I would highly recommend you go to a different Chinese restaurant. read more

Love this place! I have known the family for years and they're all very sweet and generous. I come in here every week to get the general tso's chicken and their eggrolls. My brother gets the chicken lo mein and cheese wontons. Best chinese place in town hands down! The wait is usually 15 mins and the food comes out nice and hot. read more

I liked this place and the main reason was that their food felt fresh and healthier than the norm chinese place. By healthier, I mean, my dish wasn't soaked in oil as is so often the case. And the fresh thing was a big deal for me too. You could tell they had cooked it recently and were using decent quality produce for the food. I wouldn't say it was the best tasting chinese food I ever had - cuz I would be lying. But I will most definitely be returning because of the scarcity of decent chinese places in my area and so that I know I won't have to worry about food poisoning while getting my Chinese fix for the week. If you've just been sticking to China Dragon, I'd definitely give this place a try! read more

Omg! I was so hungry after driving for hours! Just happened to stop by this place for food and it freaking hit the spot! I wasn't expecting to get food this good, but my chicken and broccoli was delicious! It wasn't greasy or watery or dry. It was fresh, quality pieces of chicken and fresh crunchy broccoli dressed in an amazing sauce. The fried rice and lo mein were excellent! And their General Tso's chicken was on par! I live miles away and I will still be coming back to get my Chinese food fix any time! It's probably a good thing that they don't deliver or else I will be a giant fat slob. read more

Local "mom and pop" shop. Really good food and quick service. Best to call ahead and order place your order so it is there when you arrive. Large selection of Chinese food which is usually served in pint or quart sizes. Prices are fair but have been on the rise lately. (Soda is also kind of pricey.) This place is a hidden gem of North East Ohio. I have tried several Chinese restaurants in the area and drive all the from Streetsboro to get food here. Like other reviewers state, the place is filthy but the food is so good it does not reduce the 5 star rating. I got take out here for the first time last night and my family of 3 couldn't even eat it. First it was freezing cold after a 10 minute drive, The one item wasn't even what we ordered, the rice didn't even taste like rice. Worst meal I think I have ever had by a Chinese restaurant. I am very very picky with my Chinese food. So, just know that as you read my review here. I cannot say I expected much honestly.....it is Ravenna. Not exactly the hub of America for high quality dining establishments. But, I am not given many options with Asian food near me, so I decided to give this place a go. I think the thing that hit me first was the smell. Sort of like a fish monger meets fried rice....but throw in a slight moldy smell. Not very clean. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give it a 4 in that area. All the tables are covered in oil and the floor is FILTHY. As I write this, it makes me wonder why I bothered ordering....but I did. I got the pork lo mein (noodles were mushy and had no flavor), egg roll (mushy and tasted like rancid oil) and some wonton soup (chicken flavored water with 2 wontons and 4 pieces of meat.) I won't be back....and recommend you don't try this place to begin with. read more

Ordered take out on my home from work . Received the wrong soup, ordered wonton received egg drop wonton mix, it was awful tasteless and strangely thick. The two meals were very small almost no vegetables . My husband ordered general so chicken which had a spoiled odor to it. We live 12 miles away, but I did call to let them know about our experience. Love their food and customer service is superb!! We always get take out. Love the chicken lo mein, the egg rolls are the best and most everything else is great that we have had. The only issue I've ever had was the last time we ordered, my lo mein was spicy which it never has been..almost like it was cooked in same pan as something spicy. Other than that, no complaints at all. Also, they have great prices. Definitely recommend for takeout. read more
