If that wuz not bad enuff then when u go out 2 use the restroom in the nite he sleep facing the door wit his eyes open so it look like he always looked kind of at you or behind u since his eyes lazy. We sat by da river the first day but it wuz rainin n tough get Down by the water at Smithfield beach bcuz my foot twisted up somethin unholy. We got down there n just sat n stare at da rain drop makin ripples in da river. It make me think about how everythin me n my gurl wuz goin thru now was just a ripple from an event cause by a poor decision. We wuz caught in the ripple now. It let me see that the ripple don't go on forever. Eventually life smooth out. The surface wanna be smooth. I knew in that moment ya boy wuz gonna be AOK. Tough time don't last just tough people bro. I knew I had da gumption to better my situation. I believed again. My girl believed again. We knew that da future had in store 4 us and we realized that we just accidentally take da elevator to da basement but we on da way back up to da penthouse but this time wit more awareness of da responsibility that go along wit it. I've been to this takeout spot countless times and just realized I never dropped a review. Today I grabbed some fantail shrimp, chicken lo mein (for my son), and the Dragon & Phoenix for myself. I don't like the fried rice at nearly any Chinese takeout spot in the area but the rice here most closely resembles NYC fried rice to me. The inside is fairly small with maybe 6 tables and the cleanliness is honestly what you'd expect from a Chinese takeout spot. So The Dragon and Phoenix is a little different here than I'm used to, but still good. I'm used to General Tso's Chicken with a spicy shrimp. This was General Tso's with a very basic flavored shrimp, maybe in a lobster sauce. I still enjoyed it, but it was just a bit of an unexpected twist. The fantail shrimp were a little overcooked as well but still enjoyable. Their fried rice and lo mein are always on point. This is definitely the spot I choose in this general area each time I want takeout, and I've been trying others to see if any will change that but so far none is up to the task. Wasn't disappointed at all. They have several tables for eat/in, but mostly takeout service. Preparation is accurate, prices are reasonable, packaging of takeout order is good not just thrown into a bag. Was in the area for a 3 day getaway and decided to try out this restaurant. I ordered the Walnut Shrimp for lunch and it was AMAZING! It was the best Walnut Shrimp that I had eaten thus far. The skin of the shrimps were nice and crispy and the mayo sauce was made perfectly! Also can't forget about the perfect serving size of the order! Yup...me and that East Coast vs. West Coast Chinese thing, again. This place is a little gem tucked away in a strip mall, out in the middle of nowhere...which is, of course, how I found it. I'm visiting this side of the country for a few days and am taking advantage of being able to make meal decisions for 1...Chinese please... The recipe here is simple, old school New York Chinatown flavors, fantastic service with a huge smile and low price equals 5 stars. I ordered an egg roll, wonton eggdrop soup, pork fried rice and shrimp with lobster sauce...great food, great price. The egg roll was filled with red pork, so yummy...the soup had a bunch of perfectly sized, perfectly proportioned, perfectly cooked wontons in a super tasty egg broth...the fried rice added onions and sprouts for great flavor...the shrimp were plump and perfectly cooked in a just salty and garlicy enough sauce. Not a single thing to complain about...especially considering I have a fridge and microwave in my hotel room! This place, out in the middle of nowhere, in a hidden corner of a strip mall, beats any of the many meals I have had in the multiple Chinese restaurants I have eaten in at home... Three items ordered with some instruction. 1) shrimp with crunchy/crisp broccoli in spicy brown sauce 2) pan fried pork dumplings 3) large wonton soup. Condiment/hot oil. Shrimp were mushy/gloppy not firm as fresh shrimp are when cooked, broccoli was mushy not crisp. Plenty of sauce to wash it back though which was a plus. Dumplings were tasteless mushy meat(?) with no texture of pork with a hint of being left too long in the fridge in a open lidless container. Wontons were bland tasteless meat with mushy dough wrapped around it swimming in a yellowish liquid like some trucker throws off the side of the highway. Last but not least was the condiment hot oil. It must have been mixed with black truffle oil (/s) as it was not the customary cherry red colored oil. Black bland with no taste or smell of the heat it should have contained. The little cup of hot oil is $1 each! After sampling a few shrimp, dumpling, wonton to make sure it was not a one off it went into the garbage! $26.97 and not worth the dysentery that comes with stale bad food that should have been tossed before being sold to the public. Zero stars not an option so one will have to do!! You'd be better off buying frozen Chinese food from the supermarket at half the price with something approaching actual authentic Chinese taste. I order a bunch of different things when I come, like chicken wings (really good) or shrimp and broccoli (not so good, shrimp is HUGE and hard to eat). 3 stars because sometimes they forget when I ask for hot oil or for example an entire white rice (the last time I ordered from them). I grew up in Brooklyn and spent a lot of my youth at Wo Hop's in Chinatown, NYC. It is one of the best known Chinese restaurants and has the best food. Well, I'm here to say that Ming Garden is the best Chinese food I've had since moving out of Brooklyn many years ago because they're from NY. The simple egg roll is one of the best I've ever had and anything else we order is always excellent. We're big fans so I'm glad we have this place so close and very very reasonable pricing. Most places are cutting back, but the wonton soup here was overfilled with wontons, and the hot and sour soup was packed with vegetables and tofu. Upon arrival they hadn't even started my food but where quick to take my Cash. Why would a business that advertises that the take credit card demand cash?
