In the casino on a Friday night, they had a water main break yesterday and some restaurants were closed or only had a limited menu. Lucky 8 was open with full menu so we stopped in for dinner. There was no hostess at the station at that moment but Bing came over to greet us and seat us. We ordered the pan fried pork dumplings as an appetizer. Hubby ordered sesame chicken and I ordered 2 sushi rolls. The food came out at a reasonable pace, it was not crowded. The pork dumplings and sauce were hot and delicious. Hubby's sesame chicken was not heated all the way through - some parts were warm and some of the broccoli was still frozen and cold. The manager came through the dining room to check on guests and we waved her over. Bing had not been by to check on us or the food, so we told her about the sesame chicken. She offered to have the meal reheated in the wok (not replaced) but hubby declined. He ate the chicken and some of the rice but not the broccoli. My rolls were ok. The outside of the volcano roll was very chewy and I expected more flavor - the 2 rolls together cost $39 which I feel is very expensive for what I got - there was crab stick in the volcano roll, not real crab. The SAT roll was good. We probably would not eat here again. Bing never checked back in with us, we had to flag him down for more water, and we had to ask him for the bill. I must start by offering credit where credit is due. Daisy was an excellent server! Friendly and attentive. Plus, the restaurant's ambiance was cozy and comfortable. Small, but the tables were distanced nicely. Probably not a great place for large groups. There were about six tables that seated four and about six seats at the bar. While we found the setting pleasant, we did feel that the food wasn't very memorable. Nothing bad, but nothing standout status. We started with the crane sushi roll which was expensive. The price was too be expected of course given the casino setting but the filling lacked substance. The roll was mostly rice. The shreds of crab were minimal and the tempura shrimp was barely noticeable. I felt like I needed a magnifying glass to even see it. We also had vegetable egg rolls which were fine. Lacked flavor and I felt like they were barely filled. If I'm very honest, those egg rolls tasted like the frozen variety from the grocery store. Our final plate was the combo lo mein. It was our favorite dish between the three items and the one we considered most satisfying. The location was convenient as we were hotel guests, but definitely a one and done.For future hotel and casino guests, I strongly recommend visiting an offsite restaurant. Server was impossible to flag down. He greeted us pretty quickly initially and took orders. He brought my entree out before our appetizer or my husband's entree. We could never catch him to request more drinks. My chicken was undercooked. He never visited the table again after dropping off the food. Like literally ever. We tried to flag him down several times and he continued to look over us. I did finally get his attention at one point and asked for the check and he said he would grab it but still never came back. We ended up waiting over 45 minutes just for the check. FINALLY another server or maybe the manager came over and we she brought our check and processed the payment. Service tends to be slow here and if it was better I would have given 5 stars. Food is very good, including the hot and sour soup. The veggie fried rice has lots of broccoli which I love. The beef chow fun had tender beef. Dragon roll was pretty to look at and tasted good, if you like eel, this is the roll to try. Two of us visited here on a busy Saturday evening. The wait for a table was a little long so we were able to be seated at the "bar" area where you can watch them cook food, make sushi, etc. We both chose the Bento Box, as it was a great deal. For mine I chose, egg drop soup, edamame, crispy crab roll and General Tso's Chicken (which came with white rice). The food here is so fresh and delicious--best General Tso's I've had in a long time! We showed up with 5 in our party and were told we couldn't be seated even though a table of 6 was getting up. The manager was rude. Then she said we could sit at the bar. Then, 20 min after we ordered, I was told they didn't have what I ordered. I had a substitution. Then the manager came back out to reiterate they didn't have what I ordered and ask if I wanted something else. It was a bad experience overall. They didn't even serve spoons with the soup. The manager blamed it on the server and said she was having issues but perhaps it's the manager having problems managing. You can only hear so many apologies before you just have to accept that a place is lousy. Then they served sushi rolls without avocado and failed to inform us until after the rolls were already made. When we entered the restaurant was pretty much empty. We picked any seat we wanted. The servers weren't too fluent in English, I tried to keep it short and sweet. Heineken, and fish soup for me, everything else for bae. Bae ordered an appetizer of shrimps, but was delivered an entree of shrimps. This restaurant was one of the pricy ones we went to while in the poconos.even more expensive than New York if you ask me.
