This place admittedly has good days and bad days, I want to say that right off the bat. I've been here and been incredibly happy with my order and i've been here and have felt upset that I spent my money on it. On this specific trip, the food was good. I got the spicy tuna roll (if you ever go, get the wonderful roll, it's the best there), The Chicken Stick appetizer, and the Chicken with garlic sauce that I requested to be very spicy. The Spicy Tuna was good. It was not any better than good and it wasn't bad. Just good. The Chicken Sticks were solid. Sometimes places don't cook them well enough and the inside is still kind of watery, I hate that. They cooked them perfectly here. I also don't like when they add too much of the food dye to make them look like the Devil's Fingers or something...they didn't do that either. The Chicken with garlic sauce was a solid plate, but was not spicy. It was normal spicy and some people may have found it to be hot enough but I specifically asked them to make it really hot and it just wasn't. I also don't love the fried rice here, I never have. I chose this restaurant based on a recommendation while on a visit to the poconos. We arrived around 9 pm on a Saturday night. The restaurant was fairly big. It had a section to sit and order off the regular menu and a side for hibachi. There was a very small crowd when we arrived. We went for the hibachi. We were the only 2 seated at our table for the first 10 minutes and then a group of 6 joined. The waitstaff was very friendly and attentive. The food although smaller proportions than other hibachi restaurants was very good. I chose to have the steak and shrimp. It came with fried rice, vegetables, soup and salad. I was quite pleased. The only thing I didn't care for was the spicy crab roll. I couldn't eat it. It didn't taste fresh to me. The chef was very entertaining and he made sure to include the entire table in his demonstration. He did the volcano, flipped vegetables, offered saki and made sure everyone's food was cooked to perfections. I would definitely return if in the area. read more

Ichiban has delicious and fresh sushi! I am a relatively frequent customer here and I have never had any issues with their sushi. Their rolls are stuffed with fish and they never overdo it on the rice. The special rolls are also really good however they do have alot of spicy options and I wish they had more options that didnt have the spicy prepared fish. So the set up there is very beautiful, and the food was fantastic. Yet I can not say the same for the service , the lady who sat us last night around 8pm had an attitude and was very rude. Then the cook he did his chef skills correct yet I have been to several other hibachi places and the chef is suppose to communicate with the people and kind of put on a little show for us . I also did not like the fact the waitress brought out the soup and the salad at the same time then the chef started cooking , so I went ahead and asked the staff if they are closing soon because why the rush ? The waitress also was having an attitude when my fiancé was inquiring about rice ! Like come on ! It is your job lady. Hibachi is not a cheap dinner so when a group of 4 people are spending $130.00 without tips you think they would be more friendly, I guess not. Side note we weren't even served our noodles which is suppose to be in with the hibachi meals. I am only giving this restaurant three stars because the food was great and the set up and decor of the place was pretty and clean . My daughter had the shrimp and broccoli dinner and I had the regular sushi with a shumi appetizer. The shumi was deep fried and crunchy (not what I am typically used to) but it had a decent flavor to it. The service was quick as it was not very busy, and the waitress was nice. Our dinner came out quickly and as you can see by the photos and previous reviews they do skimp on the rice on your rolls. Sushi was fresh, roll was good and my daughter loved the orange slices at the end of the meal, she was not a fan of the broccoli and was bummed she only got 4 pieces of shrimp in her meal but all in all it was good. There is no kids menu but it was not a bad meal and at $31.00 it was pretty decent, I'm not sure we would go out of our way to eat here again. read more

This is one of my favorite Chinese/Japanese restaurants in the area. Quick pointers: 1) It's never crowded. You're seated almost immediately always. The servers and hostess are nice and attentive. 2) The ambiance is cool. Fairly quiet and intimate. 3) Their portion sizes are HUGE. If you get a dish like the sesame chicken or General Tso's chicken, definitely share with someone! It's so yummy and fresh, but unless you want to feel like an Oompa Loompa, share it with someone! 4) They also have Bento boxes that are pretty delicious. 5) Get the tea! So refreshing and a great way to not take away from the food with a Coke or Sprite. 6) The prices are very decent for the amount of food you get. 7) Parking is easy to find. The place was half empty so we were expecting fast services. However, food took forever to come (over 30 minutes!!) and things were cold when we got them. I came in around 4 close to 5pm so there was no lunch special (lunch special ends at 3). I have never been to Ichiban in Pennsylvania but now I'm NEVER coming back. The chicken teriyaki is the cheap grilled chicken in the broth not actual chicken teriyaki. The beef teriyaki was red when I said well done for the order. You cannot substitute for fried rice in the order either (even if you want to pay extra). The rolls are decent, but the food itself is definitely NOT worth the price. If you're thinking about sushi it might be a DECENT spot. If you're thinking about teriyaki or anything else, do NOT come. I spent $100 on a regular amount of food. They also missed out the extra order of fried rice. Since I got no receipt and only an order number I couldn't even show them. They have a wide selection of Chinese, Japanese, and Thai food, but I wouldn't be too sold on the quality of each. read more

Been coming to this location as well as their new and improved location off 9th st. In Stroudsburg for several years now. The sushi is amazing and the staff is very nice. Personally love and highly recommend the "wonderful roll" the name says it all. Very tasty sushi roll and filling as well. Portions are what you'd expect and the price is a little high but personally think it's well worth it. I would recommend calling ahead an order during the pandemic as they do get very busy and wait times will occur if not called ahead before hand. Otherwise great experience, great food, great sushi! I've eaten here before and it was ok, but it seems a little less than fesh, and the salmon was not a good cut. For the price, I hope I don't get sick... I'm not a huge fan of Chinese food but as far as Chinese food goes, this place is the best around Stroudsburg.
