Last week I was on a trip up through Georgia, heading towards Clemson, and it came around to lunch time. I rode my motorcycle through town, taking note of the different places in town, and eventually settled on the Ming Wah Buffet. I knew I still had a couple more hours of riding ahead of me before I got to Clemson, so I didn't want to eat too much, but the price was right and all of the other options were either chains or places whose food just seemed too heavy for me to deal with. There were also a good number of vehicles in the parking lot for a Monday lunchtime, so I felt like it was a good bet. Inside I found the typical layout of a Chinese buffet restaurant, and I was guided to a table and asked for my drink order, then let loose on the buffet. I found on the buffet that the usual items were available... a number of different meat dishes, a couple of rice dishes, some items that were probably aimed at kids who are picky eaters, etc. Oddly, there was no General Tso's Chicken, which I felt was strange, but didn't really have a problem with it being ommitted. I ate my fill, paid my bill, and left without any issues. Really, there wasn't anything special about this restaurant, nor was there anything heinous about it. Take a second once you get out of the car. It's bad do yourself a favor and walk in the bathroom. You have stepped into a horror movie and if the lights were turned off you may piss yourself. If you get out if that and look At the carpet how this place is nasty. If you still eat You my friend deserve an award could swallow. A 10 day old can of tuna and smash 5 gas station hotdogs and get a marked down chicken salad to boot . What are you going to do if they have no Tp 80 miles away? read more

I was skeptical after reading some of the reviews. I was spending the night in a nearby hotel and asked some people as they were leaving the restaurant if the food was good. They said yes, so I tried it. They have a huge selection on two large buffet table. I had fried chicken (my favorite), shrimp, chow mein, BBQ pork, rice noodles and egg drop soup. Honestly, erverything I tried was good. It may not be gourmet but it was way better than I was expecting. I'd eat here again, for sure. read more

Worst. Buffet. Ever. I very rarely leave reviews for anything but I felt this one deserved it. We came in and hardly anything was on the buffet. They never restocked it. They ran out of almost everything and never bothered to bring out more. And the stuff that was out there with either in the wrong place or tasted like it had been up there for hours. The cheese wonton was completely empty with no cheese. There was hardly anyone here and some people just walked out. I definitely do not recommend this place. We had seen it several times in our travels and thought of stopping so we figured we had time today so why not. I would never stop again. Definitely do not recommend. read more

Overall, the food was okay, it wasn't disgusting, but a bit of it wasn't fresh. We had an older waitress, who continually poured water over anything near our glasses while she filled them. I can look past that, she poured water all over my moms phone, but no problem, maybe she has stability issues, we just cleaned it up, and continued with our meal. My biggest issue, was when I asked for to go cups for our water, she literally rolled her eyes, and had attitude the ENTIRE time, and then only brought my mom a to go cup. It was uncalled for. It's unfortunate, Ming Wah was a go to place for myself, my family, and our church gatherings as a child. It's not that place anymore. read more

Are you kidding me! I love that place! I know the people there and they are always working. I do see them restock the food constantly. I cannot believe how rude people can be. They are always so friendly and they check up on drink refills. Their food is amazing! Sometimes my husband and I just call ahead to pick up an order. It is always so refreshing to see them! The hot and sour soup is delicious and by the way they have a large menu. Sometimes you have to request they make something that is not out in the buffet area. Don't waste your time or money. My wife and l ate here 6/25/21. Everything on the buffet looked like it had been sitting there several hours, every single item we put on our plates was lukewarm at best. Eating the chicken wings was like trying to chew a flip-flop, potstickers were rubbery and tasteless, egg rolls were cold and chewy. The only thing worth eating was the wonton soup, it was hot and tasty. We have eaten here before and everything was great, don't know why it was so bad today. read more

We should've read the reviews first. It's been years since I've been here and it's definitely not as good as it used to be. The food was okay but nothing was good enough to make me want to come back. The waitress was an older lady whom I presume cannot speak English. She never smiled and had a bad attitude. She spilled water the two times she refilled out glasses. I thought that maybe her hands were not steady, but after we asked for to-go cups for our water, she rolled her eyes and started mumbling. She only brought us one cup and then as she went by the other side of the buffet she looked our way and started talking again. Sometimes you just know when people are talking about you. I tried to talk to the girl at the front desk, but the waitress kept hanging out until the girl left. I have no desire to go back. read more

Stopped here on my way back from a state park. The food wasn't the greatest. What disgusted me was the stuffed mushrooms, which tasted exactly how dog food smells. I'm not saying it was dog food, but it was a perfect imitation of what it would taste like. Also, bathrooms pretty dirty. read more

Passing through and decided to stop for lunch, there were a few cars in the parking lot. I am picky on what I eat. The pepper steak was ok not the usual kind from our local Chinese restaurant. Was not impressed with anything here. Food was not hot, you put it on your plate and it was lukewarm when you get to table with it. I will say the chicken for the sweet and sour chicken was good, I didn't get the sauce. The mini eclairs were old , the first bite of one had a moldy taste (old) had to spit out. We will not stop here again. Go somewhere else. read more

I've ate here several times in the past it is hit or miss for me mostly miss but my dad loves it so I will continue to come.

I tried 1-2 bites of all their chicken and beef entrees on the buffet, I arrived at 12:05 pm, only the freshly served black pepper chicken was worth eating. I eat Chinese food regularly and I don't expect to enjoy every recipe by everyone but, this wasn't worth the time. Not impressed by staff or cleanliness. Nope! Nope! I refuse. There's a better Asian restaurant about a mile away closer to the city limits. Eat there. Seriously. However.. if you want more bang for your buck, and you don't wanna move further away from the hotel conveniently placed right behind the building, this is the place... I guess. Ignore how the outside scenery looks like it's been crumbled by time and weather. Nevermind the discoloring of the paint. And, no, I don't know what that thing is next to the double doors is... I think it was supposed be a tree sculpture... but you came for some good food! .... Yes, it's just as run down inside too. So picky.... The buffet is the general grab-a-plate-and-eat style. The selection is a little limited but, compared to other small-time Asian eateries, it's different. Sushi is surprisingly served here. Of course it's just California rolls, but it's nice. Sweet and Sour chicken/pork tastes like it's drenched in duck sauce. And the orange chicken tastes like sweet and sour chicken. You'll get the feeling the food is low in quality, which it might be. The dessert bar is decent. Fruit is fresh. And.... yeah, guess that's all. If you wanna get full for cheap, there's no place better. The workers there are nice and approachable which made the stay there relaxing. Just try not to look at where you are. Focus on the 2 widescreens playing CNN the entire time. read more

Why is it that waitresses there can't speak English? My friend came in at 3pm to eat lunch and the food on the buffet was cold. This is not acceptable and when she tried to tell the waitress, she couldn't speak English? Y'all can take American money but can't really give good service. read more

All kidding aside, this is the worst buffet I've ever had. The chicken sticks were good though.

The food was presented in buffet, warm, fresh and some things were tasteful. Plentiful and service was ok. The place from the outside looks like it's condemned, the rug on the floor was old and warn but clean. Boxes and buckets with cleaning items with rubber cloves hanging off the side were sitting on tables and chairs. Old warn tables and chairs, the glass over the buffet needed to be cleaned. the place was full a local families I guess a local favorite. $25 for 3 people to eat. The bathroom was clean but not much better than an out house, toilets rusted to the floor covered with paint, every thing worked, just seemed like they work hard to try to put out good food but can't seem to fix the place up to match. We were hungry coming back from Atlanta and did not want burgers so it was one of few options. We did not get sick. read more

WOW . Horrible experience . I got about 9 things from the buffet and everything was cold. The place is a mess , very dirty and unprofessional. Seats are all ripped up, the sauce area was filthy . Horrible customer service . This has to be the worst chinese food I've ever ate. If you want low quality disgusting chinese food this is the place to come. Save your self the trouble and go across the street and eat at Taco Bell or something , cuz this place is horrible !!!! read more

I went their and found a big black bug in my pepper steak. I called them and they told me they I was lying. I love Chinese food but will never eat their again. The waiter at the front desk was highly rude and refused to give me a refund. read more
