A very cheerful person helped us and answered all our questions. The hotel is centrally located making it easy to walk to restaurants and stores. We were traveling with our medium sized dog so it was important to me that she was comfortable as well. We were given a room with a fenced patio and gas fireplace plus and a great view of the mountains. The "backyard" field was perfect for potty breaks and watching the sunset. The fee for having a dog is $25-very reasonable. I am SO picky about pillows that I usually bring my own, but the quality of the bedding was AMAZING! The King bed was so comfortable I think I slept in the same spot! Clean! So, so clean!! The housekeeping here is no joke-everything was sparkling! Amenities like shampoo, conditioner and hair dryer were available. The shower provided amazing water pressure-the good kind, not the piercing water pressure some showers can have, I was heaven! This place was remodeled recently. The furniture was thoughtful-the side table was an old trail sign and the coffee station provided handmade ceramic mugs-nice touch! Thanks for the stay!

So I chose to stay at The Jennings. I thought it would also be fun to stay in an historic building. And it is perfectly located at the center of town. I would definitely recommend folks stay here, as long as they understand that this hotel is different (it is not your typical hotel) and they're ok with that and want what this place does have to offer. They have a Minimalist vibe going on here. Both in terms of the room decorations and furnishings. As well as with the staff. There is no staff on site! So don't expect to be pampered like a traditional hotel. Communication is by email and they send you the code for the door and you simply let yourself in after check in time. So that is definitely different. I'm not sure of that approach is a thing in the hotel business these days but I've certainly never seen it before. It worked out ok in my case. Fortunately, I never needed anything. I'm not sure what it would be like if I did. The other thing to note about The Jennings is that most of the rooms do NOT have their own private bathroom. They share a common bathroom. There is one shared water closet and another shared water closet with a shower. This is not unusual for hotels in historic buildings. However, a few rooms DO provide a private bathroom so read those room descriptions carefully so you know what you're getting! There's also a shared sauna with a cold plunge shower. The other big thing to note about The Jennings is that it is NOT a place for kids. Their policy asks to avoid bringing kids under 12 years of age. Best to respect that. They'd be bored here. They do provide WiFi but there are no TVs in the rooms. I think that is a plus! I stayed in Room 5 1/2. It's a great room for one or two people and it does provide a private bathroom. The bathroom is a bit small but well furnished. It also has a shower which I greatly appreciated after a long day hiking. Some early reviews complained about lack of air conditioning. They fixed that! My room contained units for both A/C and heat. It also had a ceiling fan and a small fan on the table. The bed was top notch and very comfy. I did not hear any street noise. Most of the rooms overlook the side streets, not main street. So that helps avoid the noise. I also had no problem with noise from any of the adjacent rooms. There is also a shared kitchen that provides a refridgerator, oven, sink, dishwasher, plates, utensils, and coffee maker. There is no microwave. There's also a large table to eat at. And there's a small couch to sit in front of a (gas?) fireplace Oh and don't forget the balcony! The hotel is on the second floor of this building. And there's a large balcony that looks over Main street and provides an awesome view of the mountains. Overall, the space and furnishings are elegant, nothing cheap about anything. It's just Minimalistic. And historic. And there's no staff on site. I wish them well!

The 5 star rating is really for the overall stay. Would I rent cabin 116 again? Yes, but only for 4 people.

The staff is very friendly and provides everything from towels, cooking pots and pans, all glasses/plates/silverware/mugs, and anything else you may need (other than food). The only thing it doesn't have is paper towels. We had a larger cabin that slept 8 and it also had a nice deck with propane BBQ, patio table with umbrella, and lounge chairs. The cabins are also cable ready, but the wifi is a bit spotty and you can only check email. However, you're on vacation, so detach from the computer or smart phone and take a walk to the lake to enjoy the other fabulous activities in the Wallowa Lake area. The resort is centrally located within walking distance to the lake, mini-golf courses, go carts, shops, restaurants, the marina, the tram up to Mt. Howard, and much more. The Wallowa Lake resort has a spa on the property as well, so bring your suit. Dogs are also welcome for an extra fee and you will be provided with a dog pack that includes a sheet, treat, and other necessities. Just be sure to keep fido on a leash while on the property or in a crate if you leave them alone. Otherwise, they're very accommodating here. I would definitely stay here again. At check in I was assigned a room on the second floor. When given instructions on the best stairwell to access my room I learned there was no elevator. Due to health conditions I find climbing stairs to be extremely difficult. I asked if he could change m3 to a first floor room and he said that would not be possible though it appeared to me that I was an early check in he should have easily charged room assignment. Apparently he was not authorized to make any decisions as I heard him tell other guests that he would have to call the owner or manager. I'm a loyal Best Western traveler and though this hotel was just "okay" I find that their sub brands are not nearly as nice as their core brand. The free breakfast while adequate was the same each morning, sausage gravy, biscuits, sausage links and sausage patties and pre fried eggs. No fresh fruit but three cold cereals and selection of breads.

And got us to our room in a hurry which we loved cause we were so tired. He explained that there was no elevator which we didn't mind cause we traveled light. When we got to the room it was exactly what we needed. Everything was clean and and in great working order. Only thing is the DirectTv left a lot of channels to be desired. In the morning the continental breakfast is from 6-10. I over slept so didnt get in till 7. When I opened the warmer they were out of eggs and biscuits. I was slightly bummed but knew it was my fault so I didn't mind too much. Well the day time lady (forget her name) came out in a hurry with a HUGE good morning and noticed and immediately asked if I'd like some and made me some FRESH! I ate alot and went back to sleep. Oops over slept again! It was 10 and check out is at 11! I called down to inquire about a late checkout and the super nice clerk gave me untill 12! What great service! But the inn is much more than this. you are walking distance to downtown, and a mile from the lake. the outside seating areas are cozy and the roof top seating area is wonderful! there are snacks and drinks on both floors and the breakfasts are exceptional. a really great couple of days!

What a spectacular little spot located right on the outskirts of Enterprise, OR. What's also…read morespectacular, is the view of the Wallowas when the clouds and coverage decide to eventually burn off....this may take all day, but it's well worth the view when they're in sight. The Log House RV is conveniently located near Joseph and the Wallowa State Park, and exploring those areas was such a fun time that we're planning a return trip before the summer's end. Brian and Margaret, the owners, were both amazingly welcoming and inviting. My husband had reserved a luxury campsite, (eg "Glamping"), for my birthday weekend, and Margaret offered to have a small box of Arrowhead chocolate caramels, (from a local chocolate shop located in nearby Joseph), waiting for us upon our arrival. My husband took her up on her offer, and the candy was decadent. Also, Brian left a birthday card beside the chocolates that was personally handwritten by him. The luxury tent that my husband, myself and our chocolate lab spent our weekend was clean and cozy and had the absolute most comfortable bed that we've ever slept in - no kidding. The bathrooms and shower house was also clean, and they are even 2 sets of washers and dryers if you feel inclined to cleaning your dirty duds during your stay. Overall, a wonderful birthday weekend was had, and much thanks and appreciation to both Brian and Margaret!! **Side Note: A little hidden gem that's not to be missed and is located in nearby Lostine, is the recently renovated and re-vamped Lostine Tavern, (the locals call it "LT"), for either a delicious breakfast or lunch. Also, a little shop named "Beecrowbee" that's located in Joseph is a great stop for handmade soaps, unique jewelry and apparel.

This place, in contrast has made lemonaid out of lemons so to speak. The room was great, as always. The staff was great, as always. They no longer have a breakfast buffet.... most motels have stopped offering it while not reducing their room rates. The Eagle's view came up with an interesting solution. You fill out a menu of what you want in the morning and when you'll show up and hot coffee and all the goodies you ordered are waiting when you get there. Being a big eater I was concerned that the portions would be skimpy. But the gal working the b'fast really heaped on the food. It was great! This motel has always been the best lodging in town (by far). Always stay here when we're in town.
