The best motel in Eastern Oregon!! The staff was not only friendly and knowledgeable but went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed. The room was clean, there was no smell like some motels, and upgrades on items in room. Plenty of towels and pillows. The air worked great and we were very comfortable. By far a 5 star stay!!! I recommend The Range Rider for dinner! Best BLT I've ever had. Staff was friendly and attentive. After dinner, drive to Joseph and get ice cream from Mad Mary's. The Dole Whip it is amazing!! I was looking for a hotel for the weekend as my fav band was in town. I called and booked a room. The motel has a good size parking lot, clean and the staff inside was friendly and made my check in speedy. The room it self was super clean, a folder with local things to do, eat and see which is great if you're not from the area. One great thing I enjoyed was that they had Disney plus and few other subscription based tv services. It's right in the heart of enterprise and just a short drive from Joseph. I booked online. I wondered why the hotel was nesly booked up...car show! Yet the room was clean, smelled great. I needed to do early check in as I had a celebration of life to officiate. My room was not yet done do the manager gave me a private place to change. That is great service. The bed was good. Not as firm as I like, but not a sway back mare like many small hotels. Four towels...hair dyer...shampoo and soaps. Small fridge. Flat screen tv....cute dresser befitting the name...with a Gideons Bible, Our Daily Bread magazine and some local site seeing brochures. The info book was the most extensive I have ever seen. Only drawbacks were ony one pillow each...pretty flat. We stayed here two nights and the Ponderosa Motel exceeded our expectations. It is a newer property, two floors, no elevator, in a convenient location right off of Enterprise's downtown. The owners live on property and the benefit of that shows in the good maintenance of the rooms. This is not "the Ritz", but the rooms are spacious, the bathrooms are adequate, the beds are comfortable enough and the price is right. Free wifi in the rooms, even if it was a bit tempermental. Rooms also have a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Given where it is located, it seems the best of the lot. If we were headed to Joseph or Enterprise we'd stay here again. Looks like the secret is out too because even for the mid week late September time when we stayed, typically an "off season" time period, the motel was pretty busy. read more

My lady friend and I are in our seventies and retired and travel a lot and stay in a lot of hotels. But we have never had an experience like we did at this place. Apparently the owner of this hotel also pulls maid duty sometimes and was not happy that our towels were dirty. They probably were. Sheets and towels and rooms get dirty. And now you want one hundred dollars to replace your dirty towels? This looks like a money grab to me. I have never in my life seen such an odd situation and also very bizarre and strange business practices. Don't stay at this place! read more

I have been staying at the Ponderosa every year for at least six years. This year they really surprised me. They have all new windows, the bathrooms have been updated as well as the carpets. Additionally, the tv offers every cable/streaming channel with a clarity I'd like to have at home. The lighting was excellent and all the lights worked. Also, a multi-charging socket has been added. It all adds up to a great experience. Also, I recommend breakfast at the Red Rooster. Dinner and lunch at Terminal Gravity. read more

Ponderosa Motel gets 5 stars from our family for excellent customer service. On the surface the motel is what it is, a bed, bathroom, tv, etc. Nothing fancy but everything you need. Unfortunately the AC in our room wasn't working well during the recent heatwave, but as soon as we let management know they were on it. They ended up giving us their last room with a working AC. They were also on top of helping us get extra pillows, etc. On top of all of that they were friendly to us and our rambunctious toddler and pup. Loved that they were pet friendly! We will be staying again next time we're in the area. read more

Small town and limited places to stay, this is the one to choose. The management is great and refunded my money when I had to check out early. Great customer service. It's a little dated but seems to suit the ambiance of Enterprise. It's walking distance from Main St. and most of the conveniences. Here's a tip: Book directly from their website. Some of the other sites can double book rooms or screw up reservations. I got a better rate doing this too. read more

I will NEVER stay there again.... Horrific Customer Service and management team. After finding vomit in my ice bucket and dirty wash cloths in the shower, we were told the cleaning crew were shifty by the management.... REALLY, thank God we were not robbed for more than a good night sleep. The manager apoligized profusely, tell me she would comp our stay and have our room personally cleaned. We chose to stay our second night.... Only to be told on check out, she should not have told me could comp the room. My sister asked me to see if they found her leather coat in her room....AMAZING.... NO COAT.... I THINK THEY ALL SHIFTY! Fantastic small town motel! Rooms were clean, air conditioning worked great, staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and awesome. Family room has 3 beds with a separate bedroom and another tv in the bedroom. Free wifi. And the free breakfast spread is fantastic (bagels, English muffins, yogurt, juice, granola bars, fruit, hard boiled eggs, string cheese). Clean & fresh. Pleasant surprise they had 32 inch flat panel TV w/cable. Mini fridge w/microwave. Bathroom had option of light w/fan as well as heat light w/no fan. Great independent motel for the area; very clean, comfortable and a good value. The owners are friendly and helpful. Our dog enjoyed her stay as well, with plenty of grass nearby. The only downside was traffic noise, but the motel is in the middle of downtown and was full the night we stayed. We'll definitely return! read more

We stayed here for 3 night while visiting Enterprise. It seemed clean from what we saw. A little outdated- the hair dryer I had to go get from the office didn't work because it was probably from the 70's, so I had to go get another one which was just as old. The last night was the worst because we had terrible neighbors who I could hear arguing thru the paper thin walls at midnight as their child was crying. Clean and good location. However we stayed Saturday and Sunday nights. I asked about AAA discounts and was told that because of an event in a nearby town there would be no discounts this weekend. Sunday night the motel was nearly deserted and there was no reason that the AAA discount could not have been applied. For this reason on our next trip to this area we will choose another motel. read more

We stayed two nights at the Ponderosa Motel in Enterprise. The first morning we were woken up by our smoke alarm going off due to a low battery, the second morning we were woken up by all the noise from cars from guests walking up and down the hallway starting at 6 a.m. those walls are so thin you can hear everything the surrounding rooms are doing around you TVs showers anything you can hear it. This was not a nice and comfy stay by any means the linens on the bed even smelt old to us. Cute little small town with beautiful views of the mountains but this was not the hotel for us to stay at ever again. read more

Ironically I've stayed here about 4 times. Usually a spontaneous day trip to the Wallawas entails an overnight. I haven't been in the last two years, and in the past it was clean, took the dogs, nice staff and affordable. I didn't mind the rustic design, lack of view, etc, but it was quiet and safe - I'd walked my dogs at all hours. Having been down mostly winter and spring time, I'd not been there during a busy time, so I can't address that. This time I went on the 18th of January. Oh dear. The sheets smelled like they'd not been washed in clean water, or hadn't been changed in months. They felt clean, the bed was clean, but the smell was awful. Staff was ok. The wife was that closed-mouth type who seemed out of place welcoming hotel guests. I really think I'll not go back after the smell of the sheets. I mean, I've got dogs, I'm a camper, I can do rough, but for one of the basic tenets of a hotel to miss so badly at, I think I can not recommend this at all. Yuck. Seriously. read more

This is a great motel. I just want to pick it up and plop it in Joseph. But I can't. It's in enterprise, which is bit further removed from wilderness vacations, although depending what trail head you are going to, could be closer. CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN. They have renovated (or perhaps this is new, I'm not sure) what could have perhaps been a "motel 6" type lodging facility and have updated each room with a "lodge feel", it's all clean, nice beds, new showers, mini fridges and all of that. Probably the CLEANEST and newest place in the eagle caps wilderness area, not counting the bed and breakfast places that I haven't been to. Because, THEY TAKE DOGS in some units! no outside "venue", but great place to pull in and sleep. Or day hike and come back and sleep..... it's a motel, it;s completely refurbished, super clean....and they have a BIG GREY Guard CAT in the office. S/he's cool. Staff is super nice. read more
