I pulled in on a Saturday evening after work because they were still open -- I literally made a U-turn when I saw that OPEN light was lit. Turns out they open till seven on Saturdays but call ahead just in case. I LOVE the later hours because who has time to get nails done during work hours? FIRST IMPRESSION WHEN I WALKED IN WAS HOW CLEAN THE PLACE WAS. Someone else was getting her manicure so I checked in about a shellac French manicure. Cici came out and I was offered water and a very friendly conversation while my nails were trimmed and filed before being painted. I was actually so pleased with the natural shiny pink that was supposed to be the base for the French manicure that I actually decided just to go with two coats of the pink base, which they told me was called "marshmallow." They also showed me a couple of other styles of nail color that I test out in the future. I wasn't there very long; the skill level was very high. They have a nice bar area if you want to hang out with the girlfriends before it's your turn. I think Queenie was the name of the other staff person. The two of them were very hospitable and I look forward to returning in a couple of weeks. The manicure was just $35 with the shellac removal being an extra five dollars. If I've gone with my French manicure it would've been a total of $45. So prices were actually very reasonable. Skill level very high. Highly recommend! read more

I've been a customer here since I've lived in Eugene, about 7 years. I always had good experiences until today. The only reason I am putting two stars is because I've previously truly enjoyed this salon. Today I came in for my 10am gel pedicure appointment and the technician wasn't there yet, which is fine. I waited about 20 minutes, more than usual, but I wasn't in a rush. After all that time, the very sweet woman who checked me in came to tell me that my technician "didn't feel like doing a pedicure." I wish that was a joke or exaggeration! I asked what she meant and she very apologetically said the person I was scheduled with just said he "doesn't feel like doing pedicures." I asked if I was booked with the wrong person, over booked etc. trying to give them any other reason, and she stood by that although he is trained to do them and has time, he just "doesn't want to do it today." I've worked in salons/spas my entire life and never have I heard someone say something like that to a customer. She asked if I wanted to reschedule for next week and I politely declined. They've lost a customer of 7 years and It's really too bad. On the bright side: nails uncorked Amazon was able to get me in within the hour and I had a delightful experience. I came because someone recommended me based on "cheap pricing" $41 for a gel manicure, just the basic service-- no add ons or designs. The manicure is bumpy and inconsistent across fingers. I've been going to Mini Nails periodically over a number of years. I don't do my nails all year long, mostly during the Summer and for work travel--this means I never ask for anything out of the ordinary. I stick to either gel or regular mani or pedi. For the most part the service in years past has been quite good. I especially like that the shop does not stink of acrylic nails; they have fantastic ventilation. I went in 2 days ago for a simple gel pedi, which I do this time of year before my work's annual conference The nail tech was pleasant, but the work done was very poor. The tech barely did any work on the skin of my heels, and she did not cut the nails at all. I cannot stress what a problem this was--somehow I didn't notice while there, and it wasn't until I got home and looked down that I realized how bad it was. I showed a friend who is a beautician and she was the one who immediately spotted the toenail missing the end of it being painted. She also quickly spotted the complete lack of evidence of shaping the nails. The next day I looked down and noticed what looked like black around all of my nails. I was initially panicked and had my friend look at this. She stated she believed they had not used the correct undercoat and that instead, this left the gel a bit gummy and it was now picking up sock fuzz. This is very disappointing since I don't ask for anything special--but because I typically do this for work purposes, I need it to look professional. I paid $60 for this, which is super disappointing. Now I will need to rush and try to get this redone someplace else to be ready for my trip departure tomorrow. Sadly, I don't think I will go back. When I stop to think about it, last year I got my nails done at this same shop before this same work trip. I chose what should have been a rosy coral. Within 4 hours after leaving the shop the color turned a pretty gross brown. By that time it was too late for me to go back and get it redone. read more

Came here with my mom and sister and had a decent pedicure. The staff was friendly enough and had spots ready for us just a few minutes after our reservation time. She did a lousy job of clipping my toe nails straight across like I requested, but I didn't think it was too big of a deal. However, they're receiving one star because of what happened after. My big toe started bothering me out of the blue late the same night after my pedicure. The next day, it was red and swollen. I cleaned it and thought something got clipped or irritated. Later that day, I pressed on the side of my toe and PUS came out. It's been days of squeezing pus out of my toe, cleaning and bandaging, on top of being in pain. I am thoroughly disgusted that I received a toe infection from a salon and will never recommend Mini Nails. read more

I recently had a gel manicure removed here. Because of this service, I won't return to this shop. I came as a walk-in and was taken right away. The shop seemed clean and bright, and it didn't smell heavily of polish or other chemicals. I asked for a gel removal only. The nail tech buffed the gel polish, but instead of using acetone to remove the gel, she scraped the polish off with a metal tool. My nails now look horrible and they feel horrible. She left deep scratches across the nail plate, and my nails are noticeably thinner where the polish was removed than the younger part of my nail plate that's closer to the cuticle. I do not get nail work done frequently, but even I know this is sloppy and not healthy for nails. I was actually astounded at this; I mean, I could have stayed at home and peeled off my own polish for free, but I wanted to professionals who would help me keep my nails healthy. Management has recently changed, the prices jumped way up again, and it's just plain chaotic, no longer soothing. One guy insisted on putting my flip flops back on as soon as he was done painting my toes even though I repeatedly asked him not to, because he insisted he was the expert. Not only did I feel like I was being rushed out, the inevitable happened right away--he ruined the pedicure. I've found that it's usually the smaller, locally owned shops that I have the best luck with and Mini's did not disappoint!! We both did walk-in mani/pedis and we both walked out very satisfied with the work. I decided to get a regular pedicure with a gelish manicure. There have been a lot of times where I've been disappointed but this was not one of them. I loved the color selection, I chose a dusty rose/salmon color and it turned out great. I was really happy with my experience at Mini nails... until I saw my nails when we were done! The lengths were different, some nails were rounded and some were square and some looked like lipsticks (very uneven squares). The gel was painted on thinly with area you could see through it and you can see the paintbrush streaks! There's normally a clean line of polish near the cuticle but it looks messy. The sides of my nails aren't even painted. It really looks like I did this at home, but by using my feet to hold the polish brush. I really wanted to love it and call this place my Eugene nail shop! They were all so kind and helpful and care for the clients, they even brought me a mimosa. Sadly I can't trade a nice experience for 2 weeks of staring at this scary paint job! read more
