They need to get doctors in there who act like they give a care and experienced and explain to the patient what they found. I know I will be charged alot and for what. It was ridiculous. I have to go to idaho falls to see a surgeon because I can't get into anyone here soon and I can't go living like I am. I can hardly even get up because I am in so much pain.

It was earlier in the year around January and I was overdosed with pain medications. Two months prior I had been medicated with anti depressants by a doctor in Twin Falls who should have instead given me a referral to a psychologist or psychiatrist. The medication made it worse to the point of having a minor overdose. My family took me to the ER at Cassia Regional Medical Center. While there, I was put in a small open room with nothing but a thin cloth as walls. It felt like I was in a third world country where people are put in these "rooms" separated by nothing but a thin piece of cloth with zero privacy. But this isn't even my biggest complaint, it's just a minor complaint. After they stabilized me I asked to be released. I felt normal after they had be drink a charcoal drink. But then one of their disgusting ER doctors came up to me and said that I had to stay overnight otherwise he will call the police and force me to stay. This was a threat so I had no say in it. However, I did try to tell him that I could not afford the $2000 bill that comes with staying overnight. He threatened me again and said that I had no choice. They transferred me to the ICU area where I spoke to the ICU doctor and I explained to him that I could not afford this. My insurance deductible is something like $2500 and the ER alone was going to be a $500 deductible already. He then told me that he didn't believe that it was necessary to stay based on my current condition but if I left I would still be billed for the ICU as if I was there. Frustrated I just stayed because at this point I knew they were going to threaten me again and I will still be hit with the bill. When he left I got to meet the nurses. They laugh at you in their office at your misfortune before coming to say hi to you. After their introduction they tell you that you have to take off your clothes as they watch. I told them that I would do no such thing and to get out of my room and then one of them reaches out to me and pulls my pants off along with my underwear. I restrained myself from doing something stupid. And then went out while laughing together. Then they came back and told me that I had to pee on command to get a pee sample. At this point I had no need to urinate but they grabbed me from both arms and told me to hold the cup and pee. At this point I had enough. I told them to get out and to bring in whoever was in charge here. I talked to a lovely lady who was in charge and she made sure that these nurses knew that I was disturbed by their actions. After several hours one of them came to me to apologize in tears but her excuse was that she was just doing her job and then started to cry. I've spent months in an ICU with heart failure two years ago and I was never treated that badly by a nurse, they have all been sweethearts except for these nurses. So that was the nightmare at the hospital. Fast Forward 3 months later and I get a bill of a little over $1900. And guess what? They charged me for my prescriptions even though they used the ones from my pill bottle! I hope that someone in charge from the hospital and the city of Burley reads this because things need to change. That place feels more like a prison than a Hospital.

I had seen a quack doctor at an urgent care in Yakima, Washington that did absolutely nothing for me. After a four hour wait, she Supposedly cleaned my ear and wrote a " prescription" for Afrin and Sudafed in a trifold paper towel! Any way, a couple weeks later and I'm no better so we saw this place when passing by and stopped in. After filling out some paper work I was immediately called to the back, had vitals and med history checked and then the doctor came in, (Dr Candler?). He took one look in my ear and said he sees the problem - the ear is packed with wax! I told him about my previous visit in Yakima and he said, "Well, she didn't get it. There is no way your ear gets in that shape in two weeks." He flushed my ear and explained why it was itching and that it would get better in a couple days. He was right. 3 days later and it is much better. And to top it off, the office called this morning to check up and see how I was doing! If you need urgent care in this area, stop in.

I was having a hard time speaking and understanding people. I told my BF, who was driving that something was seriously wrong with me. He said my face didn't look right. It scared him to death. He took me to an Urgent Care, where I lost consciousness in the lobby. I woke up to nurses asking me questions and complete chaos in the lobby. Because this was an emergency, they had to call an ambulance and take me to St Lukes. When I got to St Lukes, I thought I would be cared for and my symptoms were going to be taken seriously. Turns out when I got there I would be treated in a condescending manner, laughed at, and ridiculed. The doctor and nurse made jokes about my condition "she thinks she is dying!!" while openly laughing at me and blaming my condition on drugs. They barely did any testing. Put something in my IV, and waited for me to come to. Eventually I was able to get my wits about me and explain what I had experienced. They told me nothing was wrong with me and discharged me. I felt like a fool. I cried because I TRULY did think I was dying, and to be laughed at and made to feel like they made me feel was absolutely deplorable. Fast forward 4 days later, I had another episode while on lunch during my normal work day. My left leg gave out and I was not able to walk straight. I call my BF and told him it was happening again. This time I was in Idaho Falls and went to Mountain View. They didn't make me feel like a fool. They didn't laugh at me. They literally did all the testing that SHOULD have been done at St Lukes. During the ultrasound, they found I had a Patent foramen ovale. I hole in the upper chamber of my heart. It was causing small clots to form and make their way to my brain and I was having transient ischemic strokes. NO ONE deserves to be treated the way they treated me. The doctor and the nurse should not be treating patients if they cannot have empathy. They had NONE!! If I had not gone to Mountain View and let the Dr and the nurse at St Lukes convince me that nothing was wrong with me, I could easily have had a serious stroke and have like altering circumstances had I not sought a second opinion. I did file a true complaint with the hospital about the dr and the nurse. I hope they take it seriously.

From the moment I arrived until I left several days later I was given the best care I have ever received in my life. Every single one of the staff from start to finish was extremely kind and very well trained. They are friendly and professional. They took excellent care of me and I would highly recommend anyone to go to this hospital when in need of medical assistance!!!! Your life will be in the best hands Idaho has to offer!!!!

Turns out, they don't even have an advice nurse. What they could have done was to direct me to, or connect me with my mom's physician's after hours number. None of them were willing to help or were not educated on how to direct people to the correct department. On the 6th attempt at speaking with someone, I was finally connected to an after hours advice nurse through her insurance carrier in Arizona! The nurses and staff lacked empathy and had no desire to assist us at all.
