The guys at this Minit Lube are great! Usually places like this you have to be cautious of because they'll try to convince you that you need more work than is required. Just went to get an oil change and that's all that was required. Told me all my other fluids and air filter was fine. The guy who seemed to be in charge double checked all the work done to make sure it was done properly. They even tightened the nuts on one of my tires, which was recently taken off and put back on due to a flat. I'm sure they could have charged me an extra $5 but they didn't. And I have a headlight out. He discovered it wasn't the bulb but the connector. Didn't charge me the $5 for the work to check it out. I've been consistent coming here for my oil changes for the past little while and they have not disappointed me. read more

3 line to choose from. Which one do you pick? Answer: Why, the one that takes the longest of course... Every. Singe. Time. There's enough space in the parking lot that you could actually form one line and go to the next available space which is WAY faster. Chances are you'll just confuse and upset other cars in the lineup though. I went on a warm Sunday afternoon and it was always full but never overly lined up. I waited between 5-10 for the door to open and then another 20 or so for the oil change, new air filter and windshield wipers. All of this came out to around the $150 mark. As someone who usually changes their own oil, I was a bit shocked, but when you stop to think about what's involved in the whole the price is pretty fair. $70 for an oil change including the oil (regardless of vehicle size) and a new filter. That's basically the same as a tank of gas. Well, for me it is. Maybe I should consider a more economical vehicle, but that's a conversation for another day. If you don't like waiting in your vehicle, they've got a few comfy chairs to sit in and a coffee machine to keep you occupied. There's no real cool businesses nearby to hang out in for a few minutes, but if you're hungry you could use the time to pick up some Ginger Beef Express or Subway. First ever experience with a drive in lube shop (still makes me laugh to say,) and for the price VS the time it saves me, I'm sure I'll be back in the future. read more

Between this Minit Lube (close to home) and my mechanic (across town) our old car has been running pretty well since the demise of our Saturn dealership. On weekends there is a line-up almost out into the street, but today at noon I had a short 20 minute wait for the bay doors to open and since I had pretty much every fluid replaced last time I was here there wasn't much to do except the basics. They always check the tire pressure and all the vehicle lights, which is nice. If they find a dirty filter they'll pop it out and show it to you and leave it up to you to decide how dirty it is. I've always felt like these guys know way more about my car than I do and they seem to genuinely want to keep it running. read more

This is a great place to get an oil change in between visits to your dealership. The service is great and the mechanics are very knowledgeable of the products and services they offer, so feel free to ask questions! The only drawback to this place is the wait to get into the garage itself. Everyone seems to come here so be prepared to wait at least 40 minutes, if not longer (depending on the time and day). Of course you could get lucky and get in and out quickly! Other than that, I have no complaints :) read more

Went for an oil change on my year old (15k km) f150 and the service tech tried to tell me: -I HAD to put synthetic oil in it (which Ford says I don't have to) - my coolant was broken down and needed replacing - keep in mind this is a low km 1 year old vehicle. - The coolant cap was no longer holding pressure. Which it was. - My rear differential fluid was broken down and needed changing. - Ford recommends the fluid be changed at 250,000km - said my air filter was dirty and needed replacing- again , no. -would not set the service reminder sticker to the manufactured recommended interval. I do know quite a lot about regular maintenance. for my whole life I have maintained my own vehicles until I got a new truck. I believe in good regular maintenance. Even overmaintence in some cases but the things he was telling me were obviously just trying to rip me off. I feel bad for anyone who has been duped by this guy before. To follow up I did verify these claims with Ford and they confirmed they were bogus. I won't ever be going back. read more

I will start this review by saying that I have been to this particular location several times and I have never had an issue. However, the last time that I was in I was told that I needed to replace my differential fluid as well as my transmission fluid. Call me skeptical, but I decided to get a second opinion. I took it to my mechanic who told me that there was nothing wrong with the fluids. I called Minit Lube back to ask why I was told that these fluids had to be changed. No explanation was given and no apology. I will now go to Ray's Auto...an HONEST mechanic who actually knows what he's doing. read more

The people are friendly enough. The prices are on the higher end but without fail every single time I've come here I wait for at least an hour. The slowest and longest wait times ever. Give yourself at least 30-45 minutes per vehicle in front of you. read more

Before heading out of town for the weekend, I realized that I needed an oil change and the dealership I usually go to was booked. Having been to this location a few times before, I headed up to Crowfoot and noticed a small line of cars waiting in front of the 3 bays. I ended up having to wait about an hour to get in for a 20 minute oil change, but I knew it would be busy before a long weekend so that's partially my fault. There was a guy handing out newspapers, so it wasn't all bad. Not to mention it was slightly cheaper than I usually pay. Plus one of the guys doing the oil change was mad cute, so no complaints here! read more

The mechanic I used to go to is across the town in NE, and I had a bad experience with Mr. Lube 6 months ago in Northland mall. So I decided to look for a local shop to do a simple oil change. Minit Lube was about 5 mins away from me, so I decided to give it a try. I called before I go, to make sure if I need any appointment. The guy on the phone, I believe was also the one who helped me, Miles, said I can be served right away, so I hung up and stormed to it, though I had one thought in mind: was business this bad that they have no customers on a Sunday 12:30pm? In the end it was just me being lucky, because 3 minutes after I got there, people started coming in. Miles was the mechanic/technician? (I am really not sure their titles) who helped me. He was fast and precise. I have never seen a mechanic at work. He had a white plastic plate that he would collect the fluids from my car and compare to what they should look like if they were new, which really helped a person like me with minimal car knowledge to get a visual and direct understanding of the car's condition. More importantly, he was knowledgeable and patient with me. While he was working, I "attacked" him with questions and he answered them all and used simple words with examples too. I really liked his line "If there is a problem, don't patch it, fix it." He also encouraged if I have a question I can just drop by and ask. This is some above-and-beyond customer service here. They asked me on entry: "Oil change for you today". Unfortunately it means something different to them that it means to me. Nobody asked me further what I wanted. They offer full service only, no just oil and filter change. I wanted a quick and cheap service, but got "full service" instead. I would not mind this if the "service" was really full but the service report included items that they never checked. When I requested to talk to manager, the person who came to talk to me offered just excuses to make me pay and leave and it was clear to me they do this routinely. Never again. read more

Got my husband's truck an oil change last week -- took over an hour, they didn't give me a sticker for his windshield and didn't give back my rewards card so now I've lost points (I didn't notice it didn't come back to me because I was in a hurry to get out of there after more than an hour waiting!) But went back to get my mom's car done today regardless. Mentioned the rewards card to see if it was still there and attendant just shrugged -- didn't ask if I wanted another one, offer to look to see if it was turned it etc. I said I wanted the basic oil and that it wasn't my car so not doing any extras. At the end it cost me almost twice what it usually does. Again he just shrugged and said that's what it costs for synthetic oil for that car and handed me the credit card scanner. Frustrated that they didn't bother to tell me that was what was going in or that it would cost me $115 instead of $68. I have gone there for years and usually decent service there so was disappointed today. read more

I would like to give them less than one star. I took my Volvo for an oil change. I thought oil change would take about 20-30 minutes. I had to wait for more than two hours because they did not have the correct filter, etc. Mechanics were having a good time there and seemed to totally oblivious to my situation, not even an apology. I took my vehicle in for an oil change, and I was shocked by the incompetence and poor manners of the gentleman working on the upper bay who checked me in. He offered me a bunch of extra work, and became increasingly rude as I politely declined. He did not seem to know what he was doing, and was having to seek clarification from those working around him. He may have been newer, and that is understandable and welcomed if he requires information and clarification, but to treat a customer in such a rude manner is utterly unacceptable. The oil change was $115 and I will certainly not be returning. You know that service is poor when someones co-workers are giving you apologetic looks. Perhaps the rest of the staff is wonderful, and helpful, but my grapes were certainly soured by this particular experience. read more

I recently took my car to the minute lube on macleod trail and heritage drive. I experienced HORRIBLE service there. Their technicians did not put the proper amount of oil in my car as well as damaged my oil pressure sending unit. When I talked to them about covering the costs of the oil pressure sending unit they accused me of lying and the manager became hostile and defensive. They did not even admit their mistake and refused to pay for anything. Both my family and I will never return to this horrible location again and I hope this review can save other people from the headache in the future. read more
