The menu is very different from your typical pub menu with a more of a restaurant feel to it. There are of course your pub favourites, such as steak, fish & chips, schnitzels, if you wish. Most of the mains start from $22 but it is well worth it for the quality of meals that you receive. There is also a great salad and veg bar included with your meal.

Yeah, I tend to do things like that, particularly in Australia where I can get away with it. Anyway, it turned out that the trip was somewhat worth it because this pub was too bad. Sure, it didn't stand at the heights of excellence, but then again it is a country pub so I shouldn't be too harsh on the place. Also, it is located in a rather small, almost non-existant, seaside town. Yeah, it isn't bad, and the service was pretty good. Sure, it was quiet when I was here, but at least it was open so I didn't waste my trip.

Our meals were simply delicious - yummy seafood and that calamari schnitzel was in a class of its own. We have eaten out 3 or 4 times a week for many years so have sampled many meals, here in Oz, and abroad, and we're still in raptures over our meals! As well on offer is a good fresh salad selection and also hot veges -great brussel sprouts! ( Last time we were here was over a weekend and the mushroom, onion and bacon had my husband drooling!) Yeah, I really wasn't too impressed with the place. Okay, there was a nice beer garden, and of course I can over look the fact that the tap beer selection is rather limited (which is to be expected in country pubs), but a part of me just found the atmosphere to be a little dry. I guess it works, just not for me.

I guess the fact that it was pretty crowded sort of did that to me, but considering that is the only pub in town that is probably expected. Luxury and comfort of fine hotel standards with friendly service from the owners, Graham & Robyn Virgin. The perfect location for exploring the York Peninsula. Okay, it is a bit of a trek to reach, and it is also effectively in the middle of nowhere (though I am sure if you are determined enough you could walk, or at least ride a bike), but for me at least, it was certainly worth it. Okay, the pub itself is your typical country pub, and you can be assured that the publican knows everybody who walks in through the door on a first name basis (except for people like me who trek up from the city just to have a beer). They have a pretty nice beer garden, however it is one of those beer gardens that it basically a converted backyard, complete with two yappy dogs that want to play with you while you are having a beer. This pub certainly has a character of its own, and I know I would be very tempted to stop by here again if I am ever in the area.
