Let me preface this by saying I work in customer service for many years. I don't expect perfection…read moreor do I think I'm perfect in anyway. Starting with the fact that that day my email client on my phone was not updating because I had done a password change and forgotten about that. What I experienced at two different O'Reilly's in West Saint Paul was the most terrible customer service that really words can't describe how standoffish how absolutely unwilling these workers were to help me retrieve an alternator thatI had ordered online from oreillys.com. I first went to the O'Reillys I had thought I had ordered the alternator to. When I came in the first time there were three customers waiting in line not including me. Two o'Reilly workers were helping one person, I thought I'll wait it'll be quick. These two guys sat and talked with this customer for 25 minutes not even once acknowledging that there are now seven people waiting in line. not once So I left and I returned maybe an hour and a half later about 40 minutes before they closed. I told the first employee that I had ordered an alternator and he looked at me Rolled his eyes, and says "whats your phone number"? I told him my name and gave him my number any indefinitely turns the screen towards me it says "your number is not on the screen it's not at this O'Reillys" Then asks " do you have a confirmation number" I open my email and I can't find it. Because my email wasn't there and I wasn't aware that I had to update the password. So I couldn't find it and I was kind Obviously confused but very apologetic at the same time but I couldn't find the confirmation number and I said "I might've ordered it to the O'Reillys up Robert street" Admitting that this might be my mistake. His reply is , "Yeah, if we don't have your number it's not here". I say " I'm so sorry but is there any way you could check or call the other Reilly's? " His reply is "well it's just up the road" Nice...I Apologize for wasting his time and head up the road Walk in and I say hello first the employee does look at me and replies " what do you need " . I explained my situation "Where is your confirmation number"? "And where did you order it" I replied " I don't seem to have that number , but I do have the the receipt on my credit card" I show him the charge on my card on my phone. Then the big tough guy manager comes in. I'm not a sensitive person nor am I an combative or paranoid. And I have 30 years experience in martial arts and conflict crisis resolution. This "manager" was instantly combative . Even as I was apologizing for what I thought was my mistake. Treated me like I was stupid. How there was no way that I ordered it if I had no confirmation number. Even though I was showing him proof that I had definitely paid 200$ from oreillys.com. I asked him if he could help me locate where this part was so I can go pick it up. And he said there was nothing he could do that all O'Reilly's are different and there's no centralized way to help locate a part. So I asked the customer service manager to help me and ,he said no... nothing he can do and "nothing i will do" he said. This man started our conversation as though I was already going to argue with him and I never did once I was apologeticI because I thought maybe I did order this part wrong and I did screw up and where it went.
