NEVER use MN Rusco!!! At the end of 2021 and beginning of 2022, MN Rusco completed a kitchen remodel in our home, refacing our cabinets, new counter and new sink. Our cost was $37K.  We were told many times that everything Rusco does has a lifetime warranty, so we felt secure in the exorbitant purchase.  However, MN Rusco is a scam!  Lifetime warranty?!  Shouldn't that mean highest quality products that will last for decades?!  What we have is low quality crap that is already falling apart after 2 years. In fact, the porcelain counter we were shown a glossy comparison sheet claiming to be better and stronger than granite (a blatant scam we can't believe we fell for) started chipping within 2 weeks of installation. Moderno let us know MN Rusco never should have sold this for use in kitchens. We were charged way too much money for a product that never should have been sold as appropriate for the kitchen!!!  The chips just kept happening, and people were send out to 'fix' the chips, each time resulting in an ugly scar in the countertop. As of this writing there are at least 15 chips currently in addition to probably 40 'fixed' ugly scarred areas.  And that's just the countertop. In one and a half years, one of the cabinet doors stopped functioning properly and now will not close. The cabinet refacing material is starting to peel off in several areas and has split and broken in others. The molding applied to the floor at the base of the cabinets has peeled and separated from the cabinet in several places. It looks truly awful. We are very angry about the low quality and inappropriate materials.  MN Rusco overcharges and does not deliver on the promises made!!! We have contacted them several times about our concerns and have received no response. What a scam!!! read more

We contacted 5 companies about updating our bathroom. The agent came out, and gave us the whole speel. During the presentation, when price was given. I stopped the agent, informing her the price was $7,000 higher than anyone to date. When I thanked her for her time, she thought it wise to tell us how bad other home improvement companies were, compared to rusco. I did some further checking after that experience, about rusco. When I saw more than a one star rating, I was grateful the price was so high. We hired a local man, who did a fine job, at half the price. It pays to do your homework...... read more

I have hired MN Rusco for two jobs in the past and had no issue. This time I had 10 windows installed. During the sale, I was promised two gift cards. It is now months later and I have contacted them 8 x and no gift cards. Don't promise something and not follow thru. The person in charge of gift cards said they were sent out about a month ago, but they sent them to an old address. It's funny how they were able to install the windows at the correct address and the bill comes to the correct address but somehow they have an old address to send the gift cards too. smh read more

Their service makes the DMV look like a Michelin-starred restaurant in terms of efficiency and customer care. It started with a simple request for a window replacement. A WEEK turned into a MONTH, and before I knew it, I had grown emotionally attached to the plastic tarp they slapped over the opening like a Band-Aid on a broken bone. My neighbors even started calling my house the "Windy Tunnel" because every gust of air blew through that makeshift patch job. When the crew finally showed up, they acted like I was inconveniencing them. One guy spent more time on his phone than actually installing the window, and when I asked a question, he muttered something about 'not being a mind reader'--seriously? The cherry on top? The window they installed was THE WRONG SIZE. It's like looking out into my backyard through a warped aquarium. The frame doesn't even match my house's exterior--who knew neon green was a design choice? SCAM OUTFIT!! with their recent tv ad on fox9 minneapolis channel, claiming 70% off labor rate, I called to get a siding estimate in a 1090 sq ft ranch style home, built in 1990. you'd never believe me if I didn't show you the bid. so here it is. almost $82k starting price & after their BS discounts (including 70% off labor sale) they knocked it down to $64k-68k (cash vs finance). This bid is still more than double the nearest bId I've received. I asked the sales rep if they hire sub contractors or actually use employees who are paid a wage and benefit package. Of course he told me that they use sub contractors. This outfit is simple to understand. They give the craziest high price imaginable, then hire the absolute cheapest sub contractors and pocket 10's of thousands of dollars for simply getting the contract. This is the problem with greed!! They are not helping our insurance rates either when they over inflate the prices for routine home maintenance and repairs. You have to be a complete idiot to do business with these predators! For my own sanity I stopped at the local lumberyard, they sell LP siding (same as MN Rusco used in their bid) and got an itemized materials list for my home. Materials were just under 14k without soffit/facia. So the math don't math, as they say! If materials are 14k & labor is 70% off, how the heck do you ever get over 30k? You DON'T! read more

Sank in over 20,000+ with this business for kitchen remodel and new entry door in 2024.Everything went well at first but what i thought would be a small issue came up shortly involving my kitchen faucet which was defective in that it would always drip after shutting off. Very annoying espercially considering what it cost . After contacting my sale's rep to see if we could get a replacement i was assured it would be taken care of but first they would send out their plumber, who i might add , when inspecting, commented that he had run into this problem quite a few times before with this design which is a goose neck and which begs the question if they knew of this issue why continue to sell them to customers? I passed this info on to my sale's rep and asked for a different faucet design and was told,again, it would be taken care. This was back in OCTOBER. After making a bevy of follow up calls over three months which were very seldom returned i finally got in touch with a service person by the name of Lexi who was great to work with. She eventually put me in touch with the service manager. In JAN i was finally put in touch with the sales mgr when I explained my frustration with getting a replacement faucet which I was PROMISED MONTHS ago . I was told at that time he would check into it and call me back. Instead of a call back I received his response in the form of a TEXT advising me that my request was being denied saying something to the effect mn rusco couldn't be replacing defective products they sell as it wouldn't be cost effective and that i pretty much have to live with it. WHAT ? So much for standing by your product and so much for exceptional service! More like s--- service . Hi, I tried to reach out to Steffanie, my sale person, however it appears she is no longer with the company since the email I sent that included the below information bounced back at me. I was working with Andy Wardarski on my project for getting everything fixed and everything is almost been fixed. One last piece of the puzzle, per Andy told me I needed to reach out to you on the following two items listed below. 1. He helped me get a copy of the receipt for the inside front door and the storm door but he was unable to break the cost of each door down on the invoice. Andy said I would I would have to reach out to my sales person however, as I stated it appears she is no longer with the company. I cannot submit for the replacement for my federal tax credit without the price being broken down.    2) The storm door I received had many issues with it being broken and having to re-order it and wait another month or so to get a new one installed. The door I receive does not have the features I told Steffanie I was looking for. I told Steffanie I was looking for a storm door that would allow ventilation from the top and from the bottom at the same time. This door will not allow this. I also mention I wanted the screen to be able to hide within the door; this door does not do this. Very disappointed in this. These doors were Never shown to me and only order over the phone as an add-on to the window order. There have been many numerous issues with the installers and the entire project was a disappointment to me from the clean up or the outside, inside, and the windows themselves. There was not even an inspection of the products before they were brought to my home because the storm door was broken as I already said, but the living room front window, the frame was cracked and the screen was torn. At this point I wish I would have had Kay Designers come back out to do the project; at least they cleaned up everything in its entirety and inspected the product before coming out. This spring I will have to take my windows completely apart to clean them; not just the glass but all the plastic fibers in the tracks and the smudges the installers left on the frames. The window and the storm door have been fixed now but as I said I still have the issue with that storm door with the functionality. Just so you know the way this project went and having worked in the window industry; I feel this was sub-par for quality all the way around. At this point I cannot recommend your company to others and the reviews will state that once I publish them out on the internet. Yes, you may want to bring this to the attention of you manager(s) who I believe are Matthew Bowers and Romain Wiser based on my research of the company. I did send an email twice to. Romain Wiser, but it appears he does not care about my issues since there has been zero response. FYI, I have had neighbors asking me who did my windows and I told them Rusco, but I did also tell them all the nightmares I had for the project. Final Note: after everything was finally fixed, the installation manger on the team, he failed to square the trim work making it difficult to hang curtains and also one of the corners now has a crack in it. This company only wants your money and not your repeat business. We had them replace 2 patio doors which were expensive. But they did not do the flashing on outside. Said it was homeowners responsibility. Even though it was part of the old door they removed to replace. They had to come back out to fix floating floor. Which they did not correctly match up to door and left gaps. When asked for a quote on siding. They said they only do whole home and not one side. These guys are scammers. This company is in total disarray right now. They went through a "restructuring" this spring, and clearly they are still figuring that out. I suspect they let go of too many people. Recommend steering clear of MN Rusco for a while, until they can get their feet back under them. I bought windows from them in February. The windows (ProVia) are great. The initial install crew (outsourced) was great. BUT MN Rusco failed to order all the window trim for my job, so that left an ugly unfinished big picture window in my living room for another 6 weeks. Only because I had withheld payment, and their Acct dept bothered to call me did I get any updates on my project. FINALLY they came to finish the job, and they installed two obviously different styles of trim on the same window, and this was their in-house service guys. I'm still waiting for them to install the matching trim. This has drug on so long, the permit with the city had to be extended. It's been 7 months to get windows installed! If anyone from MN Rusco is reading this, please fix your Project Management!! All of this could have been easily avoided!!! This job was clearly mishandled from the start, I have to call your team to get any info, and nearly all info I have received from your PM team has been incorrect including basic stuff like when to expect the crew, how many guys are coming, how much room do they need to work, how long will my job take..... read more

We have an older home and replaced our old fashioned storm/screens with Rusco combinations. Our livingroom is freezing cold now. These windows are soooo cheaply made! You can tell just from raising and lowering them. NOTHING like the old Rusco steel combination storms of years past. Avoid their cheap arse windows like the plague. Minnesota Rusco installed a expensive bay window for us a few years ago. They left a 1/4 inch gap above the window and house. I never paid any attention to it till this year, when I saw bees flying in and out from above the window. I called and they said I would have to pay to get it fixed! Some things to know about MN Rusco who we recently hired to do a tub to walk-in shower conversion which included a bathroom window. They are not inexpensive but they do great work. Their sales pitch is sort of high pressure, e.g., "we can give you this price if you sign right now otherwise it will be X$ more". Also the sales rep claimed the walk-in shower would be 6" wider than the tub it replaced (it wasn't). Ask specific questions from the measuring person about actual sizes, building codes, and what needs to done prior the start of the project, e.g., the plumber had to upgrade the drain pipe in order to meet current code - it was not a problem other than he was not informed of this and discovered it when he arrived to do the install. If they are redoing any plumbing lines they will replace your old copper with plastic. Finally, when they called to give us the actual work dates the customer service person said there would be two contractors on different days, one for the window and another for the walk-in. It turned out we had one contactor for the whole project which was not a problem but led to some confusion on our part. These are not necessarily problems, just things you should be aware of. read more

Minnesota Rusco claims to install top quality windows with 100% customer satisfaction but those are empty promises. It was a mistake to trust Minnesota Rusco with our project. We had quality issues with our Sunrise windows, which weren't caught within a 1 year service warranty and Minnesota Rusco was unwilling to take any responsibility for installing a defective product without charging a $250 fee. We had no choice but to accept the fee for something that took their tech 10 minutes to resolve. They have the power to work with the manufacturer to hold them accountable for manufacturing defects, yet they choose to praise their commitment but do the bare minimum to support their customers. We contacted Minnesota Rusco for a kitchen remodel. Cody and another guy came out and showed us what they could offer and we went with them. BIG MISTAKE... I don't know what we were thinking... and that is on us. 100%. Cody has no idea whether the product we selected would actually work in our kitchen.. He is not a contractor and has zero idea how the proposed product will actually work in our kitchen. The cabinet work began on June 24th. The installer was great but he was tackling a big job by himself. The cabinets looked good except for the fact there was a 4 inch gap between two doors and an inch gap between two other doors. New doors were ordered but we have no idea when this will happen. One of the things we wanted done was changed/cancelled without notifying us. That was an unexpected thing. Zero communication. But the big thing is the countertop. We wanted quartz and we wanted to keep our back splash as we like it. Cody said no problem..the countertop would work and the back splash could stay in place. However, that is not the case. The countertop is too thick for the back splash and so it is not working. Joe, our project manager. has not been helpful. They sent us some proposed fixes for this mess, but they were cheap looking and not acceptable . And.. THEY WANTED US TO PAY FOR MOST OF THE CHANGE. Right now we have plywood on part of the counters. It looks awful.. And we have zero idea when this will be fixed.l Finally, the billing department keeps calling us asking us when we will pay the outstanding amount. We did pay cash for the first part. Long story short..... I would not recommend using this company....They had been awful to deal with. Our window project with Minnesota Rusco has been riddled with problems from the start. Some examples of our issues, but not all inclusive include: · When signing papers in April of 2021, Mark, our salesman, told us we'd have windows by September 2021. He sold us on Rusco's reputation and installation expertise. Later, we realized that we wouldn't meet that "before winter" deadline or enjoy the expertise of installers with fine craftsmanship. · In November 2021, the office lied to us, stating our windows were in, but Rusco was waiting on the City of Eden Prairie for permit approval. We reached out to the city and had them visit our home only to learn that there was no permit issue. Rusco then changed its stance and said our windows weren't in. · In early January 2022, our windows were delivered and after three days of installation, 5 out of the 23 windows ordered were installed completely and correctly. There were 18 windows mismeasured or wrong. · We were left with exposed studs on our interior windows, including our childrens' rooms, and black construction tape on our front exterior windows for the remainder of the winter while waiting for new windows. · The corrected batch of windows arrived by mid-March 2022 for installation. · The installers improperly installed windows causing us to have several very leaky windows in four separate rooms. A ground-level window was left "finished" without locking mechanisms working. · We were dealing with Amy (who we later found out left the company mid-project) and she never closed the project or scheduled a closing inspection. She was going to replace a part of our window fixture that was thrown away by the installers, but that never happened. · Later, Jacob, VP Operations, reached out to us offering two payment options with the threat of putting a lien on our house before a closing inspection had even been scheduled. · This is all in addition to poor workmanship that includes windows that aren't level, sloppy trim cuts and caulking, and damaged siding from installation. Had we not been diligent homeowners, Minnesota Rusco would have happily closed our project several different times, leaving us with broken and mis-installed windows. After the year and a half of headaches that Minnesota Rusco has put us through, we are now being bullied into the two options Rusco feel comfortable with offering. I can't recommend enough avoiding Minnesota Rusco, based on our experiences. read more

I'm seeing some low reviews on here, but I had huge, beautiful 12 ft sliders (2013) & another set of sliders (2005) installed by RUSCO. The crews of 2 men did a wonderful job each time and I am extremely happy to this day (2023) with their quality & workmanship. RUSCO is the first place I would look to for another installation of sliders, although obviously it will be a while because these sets are still awesome. No regrets. read more

I expected much more from them, given the sales pitch and the price for my shower! I should be giving them a one star as they did not pressure check the plumbing, and I had an undetected leak, which I found after a couple days of using the shower. They did come and fix the leak, they did a very poor job of repairing the wall that they damaged to repair the leak ! Don't expect a one day installation, as my installation lasted almost one month ! I also expected the Kohler Shower product to be a better product! What I got was wall panels with flaws which they did repair, that required a number of phone calls, and shower was out of commission for two days! The show closet is an option to hold items in the shower, it to me is of poor quality! The shelves tend to work their way lose, and will fall to the floor with the items that were on it. I asked about this problem and was told that is the way it is ! They made no effort to pay for cleaning from the plumbing leak. They patched the dry wall, no offer to cover costs for paint! I was also surprised on how they employ their installers, they appear to be sub contractors to MN RUSCO. read more

I expected much more, (or in this case) less! I didn't get beyond their initial visit and estimate. I contacted them regarding a tub removal, replaced with a walk-in shower, that's it nothing else. I even said they could use the existing shower fixtures and a shower curtain Vs. a door. As I said, this is all I wanted and needed done, no other remodel in the bathroom. I was also told the job could be completed in one day. The quote I received was for $30,000.00, however, with their discounts I would only need to pay $21,000.00! So far, no good. We stupidly hired Rusco to do a ridiculously expensive PARTIAL remodel of our bathroom, gutting it to the studs because a previous homeowner did some weird stuff with the bathroom that just had to go, like building a strange "shelf" thing over the vanity, toilet and tub, with exposed can lighting. The drywall was rotting in places because caulk would not stick to the old tub, so we needed it all removed and replaced. Mind you, WE are responsible for painting, flooring, lighting and installing the toilet and medicine cabinet, and WE had to pull up the old linoleum. They're just putting up the drywall, and installing the tub and vanity. We're doing 2/3 of the job ourselves! No doubt I'll have to be the one that has to clean up all the dust/debris from it, too as my house was filthy just from the demo--they did not hang plastic to contain the dust. We could have done this whole thing ourselves much more cheaply and efficiently and in a shorter amount of time, but we're older and are tired of having to rely on DIY for everything, anymore. It's why they invented contractors, right? RIGHT??? FOUR times we had to keep telling them to take that shelf/soffit thing down. Apparently "gut it to the studs" is too difficult to understand. Anyway, they did the demo, and found the chimney pipe to the furnace (it hadn't been detected earlier when a guy came out to confirm the measurements and look for what might be behind the walls), which would affect the measurements for the vanity we've waited 2 months for. They had their HVAC people come out, and they said they could probably "move it" by installing some bends to put it back into the wall cavity, instead of out into the middle of the room, which would require framing around it. We were fortunate that the one wall was oddly 6" deep instead of the typical 4", so he was certain it could be done. Said he'd talk to a guy at the office to find out. That was a week ago. No calls from anybody to say whether it could be done or not, no calls to find out where we go from here, or if we're just going to be stuck without a bathroom for the duration of the ownership of our home. The HVAC issue is the thing holding everything up. Until that's done, there can be no electricians, no drywall, no vanity, no tub. They are notorious for not returning phone calls. You have to harass them to get them to call you back with any answers, and forget about knowing a day or time that any of their subcontractors might show up. You might get fired from your job when you take a day off, expecting them to come do something, ANYTHING, and they don't show. Repeatedly. Do not play with your customers. Some of us don't play nice back. read more

I guess he thought I needed my husband's help or blessing picking floor tile. I told him I'm the one making the decisions for this project and my husband didn't need to be here. He still insisted on him being here, bcs "they didn't want to have to circle back and answer additional questions later from my husband." Because, I guess, if later my husband did have a question about something, it would be so much work for them to answer it. Makes me wonder if they just don't want any communication once you sign on? I will forever believe that I paid way too much for my two bathroom remodels by Minnesota Rusco. Their sales person gives you multiple pricing options including one for purchasing that day which is quite a bit lower. My advice is to get a quote from another company before you invite Rusco in so you know the ball park for the work you want done. The subcontractor did a great job on the installation. It took 5 days to complete. However, I didn't notice that I had initialed a line to acknowledge that they do no painting. So after Rusco was done, I had to spend more money to hire a painting contractor to complete the job. I will not do business with this company again. read more
