On Jan 30, 2026, my wife and I went to the Mint to have a nice dinner for her birthday. We live in Lewistown but hadn't been to the Mint in a long time. I made reservations for us and we were looking forward to a steak dinner. We were promptly seated and when we looked at our menus we were surprised that all of the menu items were Asian options. Our waitress informed us it was Asian week. I told her, when I made our reservations, that I should have been informed that it was Asian week. I told her that that had I known, I would have requested reservations for American week menus. She agreed. Instead of leaving we opted to have the Mongolian beef. It was good but not what were looking forward to. To our waitresses credit she gave us a free dessert but that doesn't make up for the disappointment my wife and I experienced re her birthday dinner. We stumbled on this place on Yelp. Menu is not large, but has a little bit of great food! Mary our waitress and her assistant were wonderful and friendly! Two of us had chicken parm, one had chicken and artichokes and one had the walleye and all three diners were great! Desert was delicious as well. read more

Calamari was all batter crunchiest like they gave us the very bottom of the fryer cage with 3 pieces of calamari. The pepper steak was just a ribeye with crappy brown gravy. The pork medallions were a paper thin fried piece of pork. read more

We enjoy dining at the Mint on special occasions. It is small and quaint. They are popular for the Walleye dinner.

My favorite in Lewistown for a nice dinner. They serve GREAT steaks, sides, and desserts. I know. I made a couple of 50+ mile runs over from Winnett two nights last week to have dinner there! We always enjoy our dinners at the Mint. Wish that they would expand the menu a little. They are consistent with the quality of their dishes and deserts. We have given many gift certificate over time to friends and family members since so many enjoy the meals. Having lived in Lewistown for eight years I feel I can competently judge many of Lewistown's dining options. Hands down the Mint Bar & Grill is the best restaurant in Lewistown. The service is excellent, the food though not about to find itself on a Michelin five star, is great. You food will come the way you request it, your servers will keep the drinks full and you will never feel rushed to leave. Beware though, during important times of the year....hunting season particularly it may be hard to get a reservation in the dinning room. But don't fret, the bar is truly the best thing about the Mint. Drop in and be prepared to start a good conversation with the lawyer on your left, the teacher on your right and the rancher standing behind your. If your willing to wait a bit the bar can usually serve you food. When it doubt, go to the Mint. Trust me, it is as good as it gets in the Last Best Town in the Last Best Place. read more

Oh, deliciousness. The Mint is quite a gem in this town. Although the menu is not extensive, the food is absolutely delicious - and the number of specials probably nearly doubles the menu! Although I haven't yet been anywhere else to eat in town, I would imagine that the prices are a little higher than some of the surrounding restaurants. However, you're definitely getting your money's worth! I was in a bit of a trance after coming here due to a long day of field work in the brutal sun and heat, and this certainly hit the spot. I ordered the chicken and artichokes - the cream sauce with mushrooms was absolutely amazing and the chicken was perfectly cooked. The side of vegetables included zucchini and green beans (also perfectly cooked) covered in a little bit of shredded parmesan. The roasted whole potatoes on the side were quite possibly the best part of the meal - how on earth can they make them SO yummy? Don't let the outside of this place fool you, it is very nice inside. The beer selection was surprisingly good for such a small town. The food is the real jewel here. I had the pork medallions with the jalapeno cream sauce and it was delicious. The potatoes that came with the dish would almost be worth the trip back here. Easily the best place in town. The staff are wonderful and the food is delicious, especially the bread, seafood, veggies, and desserts. Despite the cost (probably the most costly in town), I go several times a month just because I have such a wonderful time. There are only a few negatives about The Mint. It's small and can be quite loud. Also, it's hard for a large group to fit. But the service, food, and atmosphere more than make up for it. Don't judge this restaurant by its exterior - I think it has to look crappy or there would never be enough room for everyone to fit. Check it out and you'll never want to go anywhere else. read more

We have tried on three different trips through Lewistown to eat at Mint, but it has been booked up every time. This time through, we got a reservation! After reading the reviews and having such a tough time getting in, we were so excited! It is a nice restaurant with very professional service. We had the artichoke and spinach dip, mahi mahi, and caramel flan for dessert. The dip was really tasty - puréed artichokes, spinach, and cream cheese, with a layer of salsa over the top - delicious; not "new American," but yummy. The mahi was good, and veggies....ok. Pretty average food for the price and expectation build-up. The dessert was amazing! If we only had the entree, this would be a 3-star review, but the dessert and service kicked it up a notch. I'm glad we tried it, but I won't be disappointed on future trips through Lewistown if we don't get reservations at Mint. But, if we have to eat in Lewistown in the future, this will be the place. read more

We almost didn't go as we wanted a special dinner, not your typical bar food. This is a very nice restaurant. The average entree is about $18. And worth every penny. Our martinis were perfect, the homemade mushroom soup was to die for. Honey had the rib eye which was cooked to perfection, a very nice piece of meat. I had the wall eye, one of many specials. I've visited The Mint every time I've been in Lewistown visiting family and I have to say that it never disappoints. First is the food. It's always very high quality and prepared perfectly. Excellent chicken and artichoke in a tasty cream sauce, not heavy yet super flavorful. The reds are baked to perfection. The bread is an extra $1.50 for half a small loaf of a baguette. I want to give this higher, I can't. We missed the detail of needing a reservation, which is totally our fault, but we decided to wait. While waiting near the check-in stand, one of the male servers came up to the male host and said "these people are easy to "eff" with, at that point I was hoping we did not get him as a server. We ended up with a nice young lady. The first 3 items we ordered we're unavailable. I could not decide which I wanted between clam chowder and salad,, the waitress told me they were each $2...not bad I chose both "ok, that will be an additional $5" that gave me a "whatever" attitude. The food was, mediocre at par. We chose the smoked meatloaf at the waitress's recommendation, it was dry and lacked flavor, the gravy was wall paper paste. After, the food was delivered to our table, we were never checked on, no drink refills, nothing. Not sure if we will go back. read more

Myself and 4 friends from Great Falls were in Lewistown on 9/9/17 to play some golf. When our round was finished, we went looking for a steak. We heard the Mint was the place to be. Upon arriving at the Mint, we were met with a busy place. However, there were 2 empty 4 person tables to the right of us as we were standing at the hostess desk. We asked to be seated and to our surprise were turned away. The reason? "We only have 4-top tables." We asked if we could put the 2 together and were denied. They wouldn't seat us because of that. We asked if we could sit at the empty table in the bar and order a steak. The response? "The bar has some great bar food." Are you kidding me? The bar and the restaurant were only separated by an open arch-way walk-through. We could not order a steak and eat it in the bar; we would have to order bar food. This place turned down an easy $250 from 5 guys who would have ordered food and drinks and tipped well. We travel around playing golf and end the day with a good meal. We will continue to play golf in Lewistown but we will never again step foot in this place. We will return to the Yogo Inn where we were met with open arms and very friendly service. read more

Let me begin by saying that this restaurant is in my top meals of all time. The pork tenderloins are moist and succulent with mild jalapeño cream sauce. They also have COLD SMOKE on tap and that is the best beer on this planet, hands down no contest. If you are going to dine at this fantastic establishment make reservations , but if no reservation is available grab a bar stool and order the pork shanks and ask for the mustard from the steak bites it will not disappoint. Totally snobbish restaurant. Our group of eight had reservations but we turned into a group of nine. The restaurant refuse to seat the ninth person because they do not seat parties larger than eight and said they were totally booked. Our ninth person graciously left. We never saw any of the vacant tables around us seated the entire time we were there. This is the type of behavior I would have expected from New York or Los Angeles restaurants but not from a restaurant in a small central Montana town where Main Street is dying. Excellent Gourmet Food. The Chefs really know what they are doing here and the cheesecake is to die for! You Do have to have dinner, in order to have dessert as the seating is limited I agree don't let the outside of the place fool you it is very nice inside just housed in an older building. Service will be excellent the wait staff is very big on customer service and making your dining experience extremely pleasant. People who frequent here tend to dress up a little but there is no regulation on attire. And Yes, on a Friday or Saturday night you may have to wait just a little for seating but well worth the wait. read more

This is a great restaurant, and my husband and I were excited to eat there again during the fair. Sadly, we found that the restaurant was closed due to an emergency for the owners. The bartender explained that it will be closed for at least a month. She did offer us an appetizer menu, so we had a beer (not very cold) and some appetizers. I tried the pork shanks, they were delicious! My husband had a burger and fries. His meal was ok. I really hope they get the place back up and running! My family and I have loved eating at The Mint every Summer when we visit our grandpa's Ranch in Lewistown. The food and service has always been great and this year we thought it would be special to celebrate Grandpa's 92nd birthday with a special dinner at The Mint. I called to make a reservation for 10 of us three weeks in advance and the owner said that they don't allow parties of that size - even broken up into 2 or 3 separate tables - not even under 3 separate reservations. He said, "I'm not going to put my staff through that". I'm not sure what he meant but he said it in such a rude and disgusted way, it broke my heart! Very poor hospitality. We had an overnight stop in Lewistown during our two week motorcycle tour. I was ready to be underwhelmed as we considered dinner options, but we went to The Mint Bar and Grill based upon Yelp recommendations and had a great evening. The restaurant is relatively small so we had a 30 minute wait before we could be seated, but that was fine and gave us a chance for a cocktail before dinner. Once seated, my wife ordered the salmon and I had the BBQ pork ribs. Both were excellent. There were also multiple meat and fish specials which we didn't have, but sounded great. We shared a home made rhubarb crumble for desert which was a great end to the meal. Our waiter was attentive and knew the menu inside and out. Service and value were both impressive. Mint was astounding for two reasons: 1. The service was excellent. Our party went from four to twelve and they didn't bat an eye. 2. There was no iceberg lettuce in sight. I ordered seared tuna- it was over cooked for my taste, though to be fair I'm not really in an ocean locale. My veggies were fresh and the wine was delicious. Everyone else ordered more regional cuisine and loved it. So I'd suggest freshwater fish and meat. Few things to be aware of: they put Parmesan on their house veggies so if you're lactose intolerant ask for no cheese. They only have one house red by the glass - we bought a nice bottle for $56.
