Pretty sure it used to be a train station way back. The Canada and Expo lines can be traversed here, but involves walking through a long tunnel. Fun fact - the first Starbucks location outside USA is located in the historic building part of the station.

One of the members of our group uses a walker, and each station featured a gate and elevator that made it very easy for a disabled person to use this public transportation.

I wish they made public transportation that was this smooth all over the US and not just major cities. This train runs all over Vancouver and its outliers cities and is the preferred mode of transportation by locals. The maps are easy to figure out and there's no need to purchase a day pass. If you're just doing one or two quick trips. You can just tap your credit card on the entry turnstile and kaboom... you're cruising on the SkyTrain. Ready to chase the dragon called life? Then prepare to get lifted on the SkyTrain.

They've renovated the station in recent years to include more escalators, which drastically improves the pedestrian flow. However, the really not-so-good part is that they didn't reconnect the sky bridge that used to link the station with Metropolis. Heard it was some dispute between the City and the owners of Metropolis. Now everyone is forced to cross Central at street level, which makes life a lot more difficult. Knock 1 star off.

There was a pretty good rebuild between 2015 and 2018 that improved capacity and the flow of passengers due to the shopping centers and multi-story living buildings that were added to the neighborhood. According to metrics, it is the second most busy terminal on the entire SkyTrain network. The station is handicapped accessible with lift and escalators. There is also a pedestrian bridge across the road that leads to the bus terminal and shopping. The platform is quite dated and can use a renovation besides the shiny new signs. Large parts of the metal latticework are dirty and rusty. The view of Lulu Island is actually worth checking out from the platform, as this station is located high up on a hill. This station has a bus loop attached. Very useful for getting to the heart of Richmond directly, instead of having to go all the way back to downtown Vancouver.

There are automated ticket vending machines and turnstiles as well as escalators and an elevator from the street level to the train platform level. The station is in Zone 2. It is the next-to-last stop on the Richmond-Brighouse fork of the Canada Line. The next inbound station is Aberdeen towards waterfront. There are display screens noting the next arrival and an overhead announcement too. I would imagine that it gets quite cold on that platform in the winter, but my visit in summertime was just fine.

There was plenty of seats available, it was very clean, and there was an extensive selection of food and beverage stores in the E gates. The directions were very clear, and all the staff were very friendly and willing to help. The lines at security and customs and immigration were very short. The Wi-Fi there was free and very fast. Overall, this is an excellent airport: it considerably exceeded my expectations, and I would go out of my way to fly through YVR again.

I decided to try it out on my way back to the airport and I'm so glad I did. It was as easy as scanning my credit card at the gate, getting on the correct train. (Which arrived seconds after I did) and scanning the same credit card after arriving at the airport station. I would absolutely take advantage of the station and train on my next visit.
