Despite his fantastic PPO insurance coverage, nobody would help me, and I had significant difficulty securing a timely & reasonably-priced PCP visit for him. Finally, I decided to take him to GoHealth Urgent Care in Daly City. I'm so glad I did. I almost fell into the alluring One Medical Group (Amazon) trap, but I'm glad I read the fine print and chose GoHealth and Dr. Melanie Martin! I was able to (without ANY hassle or extensive detail) "hold a spot" in line (online) with GoHealth for my fiancée. The medical assistant, Leann was so sweet, she checked us in, answered our questions, explained it was a busy afternoon - and then I saw her juggle multiple patients and phone calls seamlessly. *IMPORTANT*: UNLIKE One Medical and other groups, Leann, PERSONALLY, double-checked the insurance card/status and confirmed AHEAD OF TIME that all we would need to pay was my fiancée's $20 copay. NOTHING ELSE. Whew. Dr. Melanie Martin - I don't know where to start! She's awesome! She was VERY kind, and VERY thorough - she listened to my fiancée and also listened to me; she was concerned about our concerns - it was a collective effort. She did not rush - she exemplifies what medical care used to be. She's a rare gem. Although we couldn't solve the mystery/problem at hand, Dr. Martin gave us extremely valuable baseline information and suggestions for next steps... THANK YOU TO THE TEAM IN DALY CITY! My personal story is unwillingly rescheduled appointment because they don't have enough time for me. They are unable to offer makeup options like squeezing me in asap because it is their fault to reschedule me. Instead, all they can do is put me in the regular queue. The attitude I get is "sorry, but I only care about our schedules and getting off work on time". And I had always experienced last minute cancellation due to their chaotic management. I can see that they want to grow big but if they really want to be competitive and being viewed as professionals, they need to be truly helpful and flexible for patients' needs.

So I called the 800 and 650 numbers for HPSM and the lady was extremely helpful. She put me on hold and after a few mins assured me that someone from NEMS will call at 2pm to schedule an appointment! It's 3:46pm PST and I have not received ANY call from NEMS. No text, no call.... Nada. Zero! God help those who get assigned to NEMS. Better go to urgent care! You're not going to get any help at NEMS if you have any health concern.

He treated us with so much patience and kindness from the moment he walked in. He took the time to really listen to my concerns, answered all of my questions thoroughly, and never made me feel rushed. What I appreciated most was how calmly and clearly he explained everything to me. He provided a lot of helpful information that put my mind at ease and helped me better understand what was going on with my child. As a worried mom, that meant the world to me. It's rare to find a doctor who combines professionalism with such genuine compassion. Dr. Tetwiler truly made a stressful situation much easier for both my toddler and me. I'm incredibly grateful for the care we received and would highly recommend him.

I have called the office approximately six times and spoke with a scheduler named Catalina. During these interactions, I found her demeanor to be rude and unprofessional. Initially, she scheduled me for an appointment, then later called to reschedule it. I clearly informed her that I was unable to attend the new appointment date. Despite this, she scheduled the appointment anyway, without my consent, which resulted in a missed appointment on my record. When I called the office again to address this issue, I was informed that the next available appointment with Ms. O'Brien is not until March. This situation is extremely frustrating, as the missed appointment was not due to my actions or lack of communication, but rather a scheduling change made without my permission. I am disappointed by the lack of respect for my time and the poor communication I experienced.

But Dr. Short-Indian-Woman-Who-Chews-Gum-While-She-Meets-With-You was far from professional or, for that matter, helpful in any way. I've had to come here twice now, both times a year apart, and both times on weekends, and have waited far too long in their shitty waiting room to see this woman. First of all, a TV that's constantly playing health care commercials? I'm UNhealthy, that's why I'm at an urgent care center, you asses. And there's something like 2 issues of Newsweek for everyone to share. What fresh hell is this? Anyway, the last time I saw Dr. Short-Indian-Woman-Who-Chews-Gum-While-She-Meets-With-You, I told her of two ailments I had. One, she seemed to ignore completely, as it was overshadowed by the second, which she misdiagnosed as something for more serious. Serious in the sense that I was incredibly bummed out about my life for a good fortnight. When I got my bloodwork back that proved her wrong, and told her that the antibiotics she prescribed were nearly done, yet still not working, she said I just needed to finish them... EVEN THOUGH SHE MISDIAGNOSED ME. She bailed out on the conversation, and when I asked the receptionist if I could talk to her again, she said I'd have to make another appointment, and shell out another $100, since they don't take my insurance. I call super bull-shit on you, Dr. Short-Indian-Woman-Who-Chews-Gum-While-She-Meets-With-You. Also noteworthy, I got the bloodwork done in the same medical center pretty much across the hall, and it was an incredibly uncomfortable experience. They have a better magazine selection, but the woman who takes blood hates her life, and she'll make you hate yours too. I don't normally like it when people take my blood, and this demon woman is why.
