Yesterday, Monday April 20, 2026 I had appointments scheduled with Coleman on 527 W. Market st…read more Suite 200 in Akron - 44303. My first appointment was with a young woman at 9 am TODAY for counseling. When I had my first time in take with her we discussed I could have tele health calls if needed. & text Alerts to remind me (that was proven to be a lie) cos I got neither So when I scheduled with her AT THE DESK UPON LEAVING I asked for TELEHEALTH AT 9 AM with her for today...she said no problem and added me in for telehealth at 9am. This was because the same day at 1PM I had another appointment scheduled with a new doctor. A MEDICATION PRESCRIBING DOCTOR... which I needed I don't drive, so I decided I would find a way to the 1pm with the med doc, cos I have been unbearably depressed & unstable for months and finally found the courage to get help before crisis hit Well, 9 am came and the therapist I requested for tele-heath never called. I don't know why but i made sure to get up and get ready for my 1pm appointment Again-Not one text reminder either, which I DID SIGN UP FOR We left to head out and went to the wrong Coleman building, the lady there said she would call 527 Market and let them know I was on my way. This was still 10 min prior to my appointment so I felt I had time & I was calling to let them know I'd be there within 5 or less (I really needed to see a doc yesterday) At the same time the whole ride there I called about 9-10 times with no answer I got there at 1:04 PM so only 4 min late, with no one at the desk to help me, I had a panic attack while I waited again I tried to call to let them know but no one ever picked up. Also the lady at the other Coleman tried to call as well.. I then waited for the desk girl to get back from her lunch, which was almost 10 min past 1PM- which my appointment was scheduled for 1PM I then had to wait 15-20 min in line behind others who inconveniently waited too when the front desk girl finally got back from lunch, she arrived back almost 10 past 1pm which was my scheduled appointment (why do you schedule appointments for people when your one and only desk girl is on a break? Make it make sense ) When I was FINALLY at the desk to speak I told them what happened and that I really needed this appointment today It's almost 1:30 now... I was turned away, feeling stupid and full Of tears, as the desk lady rescheduled me to yet another week... I already waiting 2 for these appointments I was then Told by the girl at the desk who arrived back late- it was because she was not at the desk, instead she was "on her lunch break and that's why I can't be seen" essentially... and why the phone was never picked up and in turn why I ended up having delays I don't understand how this is my fault. the doc even came out and said he didn't have time for me... not even acknowledging me, just eating a snack while talking to the desk girl ...incredibly rude and unprofessional But because the desk girl missed my calls and I had to wait for her to eat her lunch, I missed my appointment...Again, rude and unprofessional.. Why is this place running like a 1 star Burger King? This is why people don't want to ask for help cos when they do, they have to wait and then they end up in crisis or worse. I've been in this broken mental health system most of my life and this is the worst treatment I've ever received I feel like I don't matter Even the doctor said he wouldn't have time to see me based on things that weren't my fault. Clearly understaffed snd too many clients so I'm sure the care is low However I did do everything I could to make it and still was turned away I feel like the service would have been terrible based on this interaction alone and how the staff shows no empathy but apathy to people who truly need help. Again, I don't drive so this makes getting to appointments hard. I am a disabled person living with cptsd, & depression currently that when bad can lead to severe depressive episodes that at times can turn to psychosis. I suffer from OCD and the thoughts seem to never stop these days causing constant panic and anxiety attacks. I hardly leave my Home so this was like a slap in my face. So Thank again for the awful service and making me feel so much worse I hope maybe in the future you can get your staff on the same page and treat the clients like humans maybe instead of an inconvenience Or that you're only there to collect a paycheck (that I see is obvious tho)

They helped me figure out how to pull up my orders on my phone and we're very knowledgeable about the services I needed. Brandie went through my medical for the provider. Then I saw Jenn the provider for my physical. All of them from start to finish were so kind and caring. They all worked together so smoothly. What a great team. Than they took me back to look at my throat, the doctor said everything looks fine (although you could look at it and see my one side was very swollen.) She said she would have someone come in and swab my throat. I sat waiting for over an hour and finally got up and left the room. The receptionist said oh, are you still here. I said yes, they were suppose to swab my throat but no one ever came to do that. She ended up doing it. She said the results would be in on Monday - today was Thursday. No one called on Monday. On Tuesday I called them only to be told "well if they didn't call the results must not be in". I called again on Thursday and was told the same, I complained and the girl said she would have the doctor call me. No one ever called. Over a week later and I still do not have any results. And I was in so much pain I went to the Hospital where I was told I have an abscessed tonsil. They said they don't understand why the so called doctor could not see that. It was very apparent. The doctor at this facility should not be allowed to practice medicine and the entire facility should be closed. My rating is less than 1 star. The most horrible experience ever...

I strongly suggest registering your appointment online ahead of time. That way it's a quicker check-in when you arrive at the location and sometimes you can bypass others who did not set up their appointment online. In fact, a patient complained that I was called in before he was but the nurse practitioner politely explained to him that I probably checked in online previously (which I had) whereas he probably just walked in. After suffering for weeks I went here today and was diagnosed with a sinus infection and mild bronchitis, ugh! The nurse practitioner was great - she was knowledgeable and friendly and explained things in detail. The best part is that I really felt she sympathized with my discomfort. She wrote me up the prescriptions I needed - I can't wait to start feeling better.

This was also despite explaining an urgent eye issue while I was traveling across the country and needed care quickly in a location I wasn't familiar with. She even had an assistant there, so 2 people who should have been working until 8 pm, but they weren't. They were not patient centric and I would not recommend them for any kind of express or urgent care. They had a total lack of self awareness and empathy. I would give zero stars if I could.

I chose the UC primarily due to insurance co-pay being one-fourth of the ED. I was seen within 20 minutes of my arrival, with the majority of time spent registering and verifying my EPIC records. Note that I have been insured by Summa Care and have used Summa services exclusively for almost a decade. The puncture wound was examined, and after observing no foreign material had entered the wound, it was cleaned, disinfected, then bandaged. A Tdap vaccine was administered and an antibiotic script sent to the Pharmacy by the attending Physician. Which incidentally was available for pickup by the time I left Summa UC and arrived at the Pharmacy. All in all, I was treated both professionally and with respect, both care and service were exemplary, and I left the facility within 45 minutes of arrival. As both a patient and a doctor (with no professional association to Summa, its employees and/or services), I highly recommend Summa Health Urgent Care Fairlawn based solely on my first visit 2023 experience(s).
