However tempting it is to go to the local CVS store for routine immunizations for travel out of the country, don't go there. The Immunization clinic at Mass General specializes. Travelers' immunization is their specialty.  They have the all information about what diseases are prevalent in whatever place travelers may visit and what is recommended. Minute Clinic at CVS wings it. The pracitioner looked it up on web while I waited and she still got it wrong. I got two vaccines that I had already recently at CVS instead of what I needed. I did get a prescription for malaria prevention. I also got a $350 bill as the pracitioner assumed that my insurance would not pay for the service. Never again. read more

Last resort outfit. Went there for a high blood pressure screening. Gave them my insurance info. Their nurse checked on her computer & told me I was covered and did not advise the cost ( a requirement of the new Massachusetts Patients First Act of 1-1-25}. About 2 months later, I received a bill in the amount of $219.46 via email (with no invoice no. or explanation), indicating that that my insurers denied the claim. I looked up the cost for blood pressure monitoring on the Minute Clinic website's posted pricing schedule, & it said 99-139 dollars. When I called to complain, I spoke to customer service twice and a billing dept. person. Neither could explain what I was being charged for or why at that billed price. It sounded like they were trying to scam my insurers with a higher price than advertised, & then billing me this when the claim was denied. Be very wary of this outfit. After calling them 3 times & my insurer once, there's still no explanation or resolution. If they told me the actual or estimated cost as required by Ma statute, I would have gone elsewhere. read more

Worst customer service EVER. Called the phone number with a follow up question, and after 4 hours on hold, the call was dropped.

HORRIBLE billing and customer service. They billed the incorrect insurance for a flu shot and vaccination. After it was appropriately denied, they put through a $444 charge on a credit card for the two shots. You spend multiple hours on hold trying to reach them. After finally getting through, advised them of the correct insurance information. They wouldn't refund the CC charge until the insurance pays. Three weeks later, they had still not billed the insurance!!!! Many hours on hold later they claim they had just filed the insurance that day. That is inexcusable. To add insult to injury, they still will not refund the CC charge until insurance pays them. Now I need to protest the CC charge with the bank. Their normal process is not to refund the CC even after insurance pays, but to mail you a check. Stay away! If the CVS you go to for a shot turns out to be a MinuteClinic, run away! Rachel definitely saved me today, thank you! I was feeling crummy all week, I had a cold last weekend that I was thinking was allergies and my throat had been sore for a few days, nothing uncontrollable until I could not fall asleep last night and was to the point of tears my throat hurt so bad. My throat had hurt me more yesterday and today when I peaked in a mirror with a flash light, holy grossness. You don't even wanna know. Previous to that, I had been in tears and was drooling because I couldn't swallow, I felt like I was a rabies victim foaming at the mouth. My friend mentioned to me about the minute clinic and I called my local CVS and they directed me to this location. I went and signed in, luckily no one was in que and I was seen right away. The whole process took about a half hour, including the time to fill the prescription. I'm still in major pain but what a relief this was knowing it was a Sunday and I had somewhere to go besides the ER and their co-pay, not to mention tomorrow with the holiday and I didn't have to worry about my doctors office being closed. Now I just have to get through these antibiotics and hopefully I feel better soon! read more

I woke up this morning around 3:30 with an excruciating ear infection. I tried to make an appointment on their website which appeared to be defunct. That being said, I arrived as they opened at 8am today and the waiting room was completely empty. The doctor there said they had no time for me and to try again tomorrow. I didn't wait for my ear to be at the brim of rupturing before heading in, this whole thing transpired overnight and I've had consistent problems with my right ear for as long as I can remember, so waking up in that condition wasn't exactly a surprise as much as it was unpleasant to say the least. To those of you who are lucky enough to not get ear infections, it feels a bit like someone is hammering into your ear drum with an ice pick consistently and there's nothing you can do to stop it. The tension builds behind your eyes and even in your gums; its like having a migraine and a root canal at the same time. For her to suggest I wait until tomorrow felt like a bizarre slap in the face. I barely made it to 8am and ended up leaving in tears. Arlington urgent care was able to see me by 9 and it took under ten minutes for the doctor there to prescribe me a couple of meds for both an outer and inner ear infection. This isn't my first bad experience here, but it will be my last. You get what you pay for and unless you're a glutton for torture, BEWARE. read more

They provided wait times but they are so far off as to be pointless. Won't ever use a CVS clinic again. I was able to make an appt within 2-3 days with multiple time options which was great as I needed a TB skin test and a MMR titer screening. The online process was seamless and the online check in can be done through email or text depending on how you choose to receive the link. You can also use the kiosk outside of the minute clinic to check in. Masks still required. The Nurse Practitioner here was kind, thoughtful and on time for my appt. I made 2 appts for the two different services that I needed as I couldn't select both online. The NP was able to provide both the same day saving me from the second appt and time that I didn't have to waste waiting for my results. She performed the TB procedure professionally and without as little pain as possible. She was also very accommodating to my questions and explained the timeframe when I had to return to read the TB skin test results. She tried to schedule me for a return appt but I chose to wait until I was able to figure out where my orientation was for the following week as I am unfamiliar with the area. After I left, I realized with my all day orientation and the office closed on Easter Sunday, I would have a really tight window to return. I tried to make an appt online to return but they only showed me 2 days ahead online which wasn't helpful in my case. Also tried calling the main phone line to schedule but she was apparently unable to find the Medway location I needed and then the phone center closed at 5 when offices closed until 7. I went back inside the clinic hoping to make an appt with the NP and was she was gracious enough to help me book an appt at the office that would be closer to my work so I can make the 72 hr timeframe for the reading of my test. Huge con is that I would have liked to have known that the blood work required for the MMR titer screening would not be performed at Minute Clinic and I would have to make an a separate appt at Quest to do so. I needed everything done within a certain time frame for work and had I known I would only receive the test order papers for the blood work at Minute Clinic and the blood work at Quest, I would have scheduled the Quest appt in advance. So now, I'm left hoping I will be able to get my results on time. Minute Clinic should have advised online that I would have to go elsewhere and to make an appt for Quest as I don't need the test order numbers to schedule the appt. In fact, I called to confirm the details of the procedure and was told by the main line that they don't do blood work but they do titer screening. I assumed the person did not know blood work was needed for the titer screening as they didn't seem to know much about the basic services provided. Now that I think about it, I've had 2/4 unsuccessful phone conversations. But the NP here was great in contrast to the one in Medway that was 16 mins late for my appt and ended up missing my timeframe for the test reading. read more

I was here a few days ago to see if I had strep throat and I was so glad I came here. Check in was easy using the computer. The wait wasn't long. (20 min I got lucky.)The place was very clean and tidy when I walked in. I had a wonderful NP that was very nice and professional. She had great side patient manner and she was very informative about going over the directions of the medication and other remedies on how I can feel better of the strep throat I did have. Overall it was a pleasant experience besides the strep throat and I would recommend this place to everyone. read more

I have the worst poison ivy rash that i have ever seen or heard of. It is ALL over my face and neck and chest... huge red blisters. I went into this minute clinic yesterday afternoon at 1:17 and the sign on the door said "mandatory lunch break from 1-2" but on the other door there was a small clock on the door to indicate with the hour hand and minute hand what time the person would return, which said 2:30. at 1:24 I asked the black haired woman working at the pharmacist checkout counter if she thought the nurse would be back at 2 or 2:30... she said "let me ask" and went into the back to ask who i later figured out was that nurse practitioner. She came back and said that "she was taking a late lunch and wouldn't be back until 2:30"... the blonde haired nurse practitioner with the thick makeup then walked by me twice on my way out the door, looking me straight in the eye. (her name tag had the minute clinic logo on it) five minutes of her time would have made the biggest difference for me. how can a health care provider knowingly walk by someone who is suffering? do yourself a favor and DONT GO HERE. Wow. I get sick maybe twice a year and usually wait 1 1/2- 2 hours just for someone to listen to me breathe or tap my forehead and then prescribe antibiotics. With past experiences in mind, I brought a 700-page book with me to Minute Clinic. The clinic is inside a CVS, just walk to the back and sign in on the computer kiosk. You can park in the CVS lot so you don't have to pay or worry about your car. I was the only person there! In total, the visit probably took 20 minutes, and 15 of them were spent with the nurse practitioner. She was really nice and I didn't even have to lie about having black phlegm or something to get my amoxicillin. The best part was not having to sit with other sick people and listen to their gruesome wheezing, groaning, and hacking up of lungs. I'll definitely be back for other minor ailments. read more

If I could give this minute clinic less than one star I would. I went only because I had heard of its convenience, but if I had known then what I do now I would have skipped it all together. I arrived at 12:45 on Wednesday afternoon, and starting checking in. The entire process if you have never been is insanely time consuming and unnecessary. The wait time was 100 minutes and I was third on the list. The doctor, I'm not sure of her name but she was blonde and younger, asked if I was there for the flu shot and when I told her no, that I thought I had pink eye, she looked at me and said no definitely not pink eye. I asked her if she could take a better look and she said yes but she was leaving for lunch. She shined a light in my eyes and said once again definitely not pink eye. I have had pink eye a few times before and I know I had it. She then was rude when I asked if there was an urgent care close by for another opinion. In search for a more satisfying answer, I discovered that Lawrence Memorial Hospital was half of a mile up the road. There I saw a legit doctor, who promptly diagnosed me with pink eye, and prescribed medication, all within the time it took her to send me away and be rude I will definitely not be returning to this minute clinic anytime in the future. Being sick is already awful, doctors are supposed to be helpful. The only reason I tried Minute Clinic was because it is advertised as being more convenient for busy people like me. Instead of being convenient, I ended up spending my only day off wandering around for a competent doctor and proper diagnosis. read more

This place was fast (no appointment needed), had great service, and best of all - the prescription is actually fixing the problem that was diagnosed. Of course, the day I wake up with pink-eye has to be a holiday. My PCP was out of the office, and the nurse on-call said that it really couldn't wait a day, so I could either go to a clinic or park my behind in an emergency room for 8 hrs and wait just to find out what I already knew. Not so high on the list of possibilities... My insurance covers the costs at the minute clinics, so off I trooped to Medford. Luckily, the longest part of it was signing in at the computer kiosk, but the nurse practitioner who saw me after a short 2-minute wait was really friendly, professional, took the time to look up my medical history and was overall really comprehensive. Will definitely return if I get sick again when the PCP is closed/out of office. read more

Big fan of having medical services at my fingertips so to speak. I live down the street from the CVS. Getting an appointment at my regular doctor is tedious. In the time it takes to make an appointment and go I could be cured already by Minute Clinic. Thankfully when I went the pharmacy was slammed but there were no patients for the clinic. It took me longer to use the computer sign in then it did to plunk my butt in the chair and see the doctor. Thoroughly checked me out and listened to all of my complaints. Seems I had a double ear infection. YAY! Prescriptions for antibiotics and cough medicine which I declined. About 5 years ago CVS switched to a synthetic codeine and I found out the hard way that my body does not like it. I'll just tell you that it made me act crazy/er. Here is where CVS fails: 1. Minute Clinic electronically sends over the prescription to the pharmacy next door yet it took me 20 minutes to get amoxicillin. I watched people come and go while I waited. Errr! 2. Synthetic codeine SUCKS! I passed on it even though I could of used it to get some sleep. Damn you CVS for changing your brand! 3. Pricing. If you have insurance than you are covered which is fantastic! I currently do not have insurance so I was on the hook. $89 for the visit which I was fine with but $79 for amoxicillin. Really?? I still recommend Minute Clinic in a pinch. In and out service with less hassle than going to your primary dr. Best with insurance. read more

Efficient, kind doctor checked me out for strep one day. Thankfully, it was negative but it was good to have it checked out on a weekend when seeing my doctor is a non-option and going to the hospital for a horrible sore throat means an 8 hour wait. Okay, I might be over esitmating but waiting 10 minutes on a Saturday for a doctor is just amazing. I will be back if I need to see a doctor, but lets hope I don't actually need to! read more

I normally am a fan of minute clinics, but this one didn't make the cut for me. The wait time was short and the electronic prescriptions are super convenient, but the physician I had was disappointing. So this physician. He was very violent with his strep test and flu test. I know they're not pleasant but it felt like he had no idea what he was doing, or maybe just no experience. Then he had to look up what antibiotic to prescribe for Strep in a textbook. He kept reading from this textbook the whole appointment, like he was totally blank and didn't know anything off hand. He gave me augmentin for 7 days, which I thought sounded too short (I get Strep often). He also told me I had a sinus infection, which I didn't, and insisted this short course of antibiotics would also kill that off. Go figure, 2 weeks later I have strep throat again. My current doctor believes it wasn't properly treated. Jeez, save yourself the trouble and avoid this physician. I wish I remembered his name, just PLEASE don't go here if you know you're sick and need proper treatment. Better Suggestion: Doctor Express in Watertown. read more

Just be careful who you see... I generally visit minute clinic in braintree. Unfortunately today I went to this location and saw the blonde lady with long hair and very heavy mascara.I could tell it wasn't going to be good when the doc had a sour look on her face and was super curt with everyone. After I started telling her about the cat bite on my finger, she rudely interrupted me and went on a long spiel about how they can't treat work related injuries. That's fine, but she didn't need to be so rude and abrupt. Then I told her I was just there to see if I needed to go to the hospital and she took a partial look and said it was fine...even though there is redness progressing up my arm. Just continue the antibiotic that I was on and watch it. I have never been tested so abruptly and rudely as this...will never go back. read more

Good experience with pink eye diagnosis and script on the day after Thanksgiving. Maren was very pleasant, competent and efficient. She said this is busiest Minute Clinic in the state. Our wait was half hour or so. Prescription was ready in 5 minutes. read more

Ugh, I just can't anymore. I come here often, unfortunately , because I get chronic sinus infections and need to get an antibiotic. I would say 90% of the time I am here their systems are "off line." So you really have no idea how long you will be waiting (it's typically around 2 to 3 hours), everything must be done by hand, and you can't pay with a card, only cash or check. The nurses are hit or miss. Some are nice, some are as rude as they come. I'm pretty sure half of them don't even know what they are doing. If you know what's wrong and just need a script and you have the time to wait, you can get away with coming here. If you don't know what's wrong, go somewhere else, otherwise, you will just end up going somewhere else a week later due to being misdiagnosed anyway. I even had one nurse tell me it was OK to put my contacts in after a day of using eye drops when I had conjunctivitis. Her ignorance and conveyance of bad Information caused me 8, yes 8, different types of infections in my eyes. I lost my contacts for 6 months to give everything time to heal, and it cost me around $400 in co-pays for all the visits to the ophthalmologist. read more

So I went to the minute clinic on high st. Medford, I was feeling pretty sick and was sure I had bronchitis which I have every year, I had some African doctor who never diagnosed me, and gave me pills for my cough, the minute I left I called my dr's office and they saw me right away, I had fluid in my lungs so basically I had an pneumonia, I will not ever, ever go back again! The minute clinic website says that you must be checked in by 645 to be seen. However, they neglect to mention that the check in computer shuts off at 640, which was right when we arrived, and therefore they wouldn't see us (although there were NO other patients there so it wasn't like the nurse was busy). The nurse came out to talk to us about my son's infected finger. Her less than helpful suggestion was for me to take him to a very busy emergency room (where we likely would still be waiting to be seen a day later). It was a total waste of time. Don't bother wasting the gas money to get there. read more
