The front desk gentleman was very friendly, courteous and upfront about their long wait time. 11:00AM on a Thursday and a 2 HOUR WAIT for a NURSE. They did NOT require patients too put on a new mask... and one was chronically coughing. Yet, the nurse took my information from a separate room on her phone due to Covid protocols. Nobody seemed to write anything I said down. This resulted in me repeating a month-long history of medical visits, for various symptoms, all the medications that resulted from them and all my current symptoms... Half a dozen times! When I did finally meet with the doctor, she was an excellent listener, very empathetic and supportive. I might recommend her...but all she prescribed me was an antihistamine nasal spray. My symptoms are severe, and definitely need further treatment, but she simply did NOT know what to do for me. She said she wanted to prescribe me antibiotics, but she feared the side effects would make my current symptoms even worse. WORST PART: I showed the doctor two red bite marks, on my right forearm, and assured her I had a picture of the bites, when they first happened, and they were red circles. I requested a basic LYME DISEASE blood test. She REFUSED detest me, for Lyme disease and tick borne illness, because she said, "your symptoms don't relate to that." My symptoms are classic for Lyme disease: headache; diarrhea; nausea; fatigue; etc. this type of medical ignorance is extremely dangerous. If ANY of the 300+ kinds of tickborne illness, of which we only test for one kind of Lyme Disease, is not diagnosed and treated early, it can become chronic for LIFE. THE DEAL: In future, I would reserve using this walk-in clinic for absolute emergencies only... and only those that don't merit going to the ER! read more

I went there about 10 days ago and told the dr that I had a sinus infection and asked for antibiotics. They insistedon testing me for covid, flu, and rsv even though I had tested myself within 48 hours and have been vaccinated against all three in the fall. The dr told me that what I had was a virus and would not listen to my 20+ years experience of my own sinus infection history and self-righteously told me she would not risk her medical license to GIVE ME A Z-PACK. I am now recovering from a bacterial sinus infection that required a stonger and longer course of antibiotics because this dr knew better. Thank you for not listening, for costing me 3 days of work (I don't get paid if I don't work), and for arrogantly assuming you know it all. Don't go here. read more

I had been injured at work and this was the closest place nearby. They apparently had no scanning equipment, which apparently was what I needed (as well as emergency surgery eventually) but Instead of helping me get to the Tufts ER across the street they decided to admit me, waste precious time taking blood pressure, confirmed there was nothing they could do to actually help me, then handed me an Ice pack and made me walk by myself across the street to the Tufts ER. They did not tell me this blood pressure check was going to cost me $800. I could have gone to CVS and got a free pressure test and a $5 ice pack. I don't feel they acted in my best interest nor did they inform me of the hefty price tag. Tufts took care of me properly. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time here-- it could potentially cost you dearly or perhaps even your life. read more

Rude front desk workers. Told me if I don't want to wait to just go to the emergency room. It's been a 3 hour wait with flu symptoms and I have not even been past the waiting room. They don't share wait times. Someone wanted to go get a coffee who has been here 3+ hours and they told her if she's not here when she gets called they will just take her off the list. I don't understand why this process can't be smoother for the unwell. Be nice. Have a water machine. Be nice to your patients. Let us know our wait times. Maybe turn your tv on. Maybe have tissue boxes that aren't empty cardboard for us who are sick and have to blow our noses after 2 hours. Never coming back here. read more

Truly, I wish I could give this review zero stars if possible because the girl working at the front desk with her hair tied up in a bun at 1:22 PM on Saturday, June 17 is quite literally the nastiest woman I have ever met. She is so quick to send people away, even if it is simply a quick tuberculosis shot and she is so unclear with her instructions on how to inquire about coverage. I don't understand why people continue to work somewhere they seem to hate. She is a horrific representation of healthcare providers. I do not recommend this location. read more

Nurse was too timid to put swab all the way in my throat and up my nose resulting in a false negative which I complained about to which I was told "she knows what she's doing" well actually she didn't being that I ended up going to Beth Israel and getting diagnosed with bronchitis and strep and was prescribed antibiotics. read more

Same day appointments, the doctors and staff are very good. They take my insurance. Usually a long wait both in the waiting room and inside the examination room. This time I have already waited 2.5 hours. I suggest allowing people to make on-line appointments. Some real time information on the wait would allow people to come in when it is less busy. Already about 7-10 people were asked to come back in an hour. The ability to make appointments would be a big plus. On the plus side, relatively fast, given the same day. I wish they were actually open seven days a week instead of being closed (currently) on Wednesdays and Sundays. read more

I went to the Newton location. I was seen within 30 minutes by Dan. He was great and sent me to xray. The xrays came back within 90 minutes. Dan called back within 3 hours. I had a followup question the next day and (after 8 minutes on hold) a colleague took the call and was very helpful. My only other UC experience has been with the competitor in Needham about 2 miles west, where I was misdiagnosed and given a prescription that (had I not been a savvy consumer and realized this) would have done more harm than good. I can tell ya there is no comparison. read more

Worst urgent care experience I've EVER had. If you want to be taken seriously by the receptionist do not go here. I got there around 3 and wasn't seen until 7:45, even though everyone who got there after me was seen before me. When I asked why I hadn't been seen yet, the receptionist was extremely rude and condescending and told me she "didn't know and that it was up to the doctors on who to see first." She was the most unhelpful person I've ever encountered and did not care about the patients time/waiting a long time. I will NEVER be going back here. Had a virtual visit in the morning and got sent to this location for an X-ray. I appreciated that they accommodated me within 10 minutes despite the line. The virtual visit was very easy to schedule so my advice would be to do that if possible. Deducting a star because their lobby is very small so I had to stand while waiting to be called and the secretary lacked customer service skills. So rude! Can't book an appt! They make it impossible to book an appointment. I've been on the phone with multiple people at this point who all redirect me to another number. One woman even hung up on me when I asked if the number she was giving me would actually allow me to book an appt. Her answer was "it's the office number" repeatedly. I went to this Urgent Care because according to their web page wait time was one hour and they have X ray at all their locations. When I arrived - within 30 minutes after checking their wait time, the waiting room was crowded and I was told that the wait time is about 3 hours. I was also told that their X ray was not working that day. This information was not provided on their web page and when I tried to call before the visit, nobody was picking up the phone. If you think making a reservation will save you time, think again. They don't consider their reservations actual appointments. Totally ridiculous. In addition to that, something went wrong with their queue and I ended up waiting over 2.5 hours because I wasn't part of the active queue. I felt bad since the front desk girl was one of the nurses since the other one went home sick. The staff themselves were good. This place definitely needs to look into complying with HIPAA more. You have to explain why you're here at the front desk, in front of everyone. I checked the hours prior to arriving and the website mentioned nothing about it unexpectedly closing. I even called this location before arriving and their automated machine didn't mention that they were randomly closed today. Incompetence is too nice of a word too describe this establishment. Was told it would be a 1 hour wait, it was actually a 2 and a half hour wait. Took another half hour for the doctor to both to visit me, during which time the doctor berated me for not praising the floor she walked on for bothering to come help me. She proceeds to question every fact I've given her with the most condescending tone. She then gave me a full speech about how I need to respect her. Respect what? She was the most incompetent woman I've ever met. To end off the incompetence, the could not figure out how to send my prescription to the correct address. Today I took my 9 month old baby and registered him to be seen online as instructed. It said the wait would be 11 min. Once inside they told me the wait was 2 hours. We waited and waited - longer than two hours. Once inside the room we waited over another hour - I didn't have any tylenol and my son was burning up 102.5 fever. I had to go out and get them to come in and check my son and give him tylenol. They said his ear is pink, but they wanted to check him for COVID and not treat him for an ear infection since the ear is just beginning. I am writing this review and I am still here. It is almost 3pm and I have been here since 10:45am. THE WORST MEDICAL FACILITY. DO NOT GO HERE. I am from out of town and this has been the longest day of my life. read more

DON'T GO HERE, NO MATTER HOW SICK YOU ARE. Also, DR. MCDONALD - BIG NO. (Just go a few blocks more to Tufts emergency room, where everyone is wonderful.) My young adult daughter gets strep throat a lot so she knows the symptoms well. She's been sick and has a super sore throat and white spots on her tonsils and feels like she has in the past every time she's has strep throat. So I took her to this urgent care so she didn't have to spend 1/2 hour on public transportation while being so sick. Dr. McDonald did a rapid strep test but no throat culture and then literally refused to test her for strep B. When I asked to talk to her to question this, she said it is not recommended to treat strep B at all so they don't bother testing for it. I said that I understood it was their policy but that it can't be a consensus in the medical community as I am currently on antibiotics for strep B after being seen at my own urgent care. She said "I didn't call it a policy, you called it a policy. I said it's not recommended." So I responded by saying that it can't be something that is not recommended by the entire medical community as my daughter has been treated for it in the past and I'm currently being treated for it. Dr McDonald turned around and left, which I guess is good because I was ready to punch her. (It should be noted that the receptionist was lovely.) read more

Took my daughter there because of an accident involving her eye. Turns out, they do not accept Tufts Health Insurance. I think an urgent care clinic run by the largest healthcare provider in the State that snuffs out its competition because of its sheer size, should take an insurance policy that is sold on the State's Connector site. When seeking urgent care, who has time to call around to find out if a clinic takes a particular insurance that is a totally legit insurance? read more

I had a very bad experience at this urgent care. To start, I got there about ten minutes before they opened at 9am, tried the door (it was locked) and saw that the receptionist was inside. It was freezing outside, so it would have been nice to be let in, but I was fine with waiting because I knew I was early. But when I checked in, he told me that he noticed when I tried to open the door, then unlocked it as an "experiment" to see if I would try to open it again. Not the time or place. I was seen quickly and the actual appointment was fine. I went to the pharmacy on my way home. The pharmacy said that they hadn't received my prescription and that they would call me when it came through. By 4pm, I hadn't received a call from the pharmacy - they never got the prescription. They called the urgent care to get my prescription, and it came through right away, but it was the wrong medication. I called the urgent care and asked them to send the correct medication. They sent another medication, but it was wrong AGAIN. I called the urgent care a second time and talked to a doctor directly who told me that at first they confused me for another patient. Additionally, they said there was nothing recorded in my chart so they didn't know which medication to prescribe. I eventually got the correct medication but felt very concerned and not well taken care of. It's not the patient's responsibility to make sure the correct medication is prescribed. This makes for a potentially dangerous situation and I will not be returning to this care center. read more

I was suffering from bronchial issues and waited about 2 hrs for an exam. After seeing they had the wrong meds and contact info, I tried to update the record but was shaking too bad from a high fever to finish. The girl at reception said they would get the rest of my info inside (never happened). My symptoms were not fully noted. I was given a chest xray and a swab to rule out pneumonia. I was given meds for the flu. By the 4th day I was worse because "oh your xray showed bronchitis"...were they ever going to self correct their missed diagnosis? So I had to spend another $50 @ the pharmacy and never received an apology. Thank God I took the initiative to call THEM back. Somehow the ball was seriously dropped and I missed 2 days of work because of it. Not sure what education Andrew has, but perhaps he shouldn't be flying solo yet kids. read more

Long waiting hours . I had allergic reaction to my new medication I, was siting at the waiting room for one hours but there were only two patients in front of me . Waiting another hour in side the room where they measured my temperature. I don't understand why does it take so long to see a patient . I am from Hong Kong and my primary care doctor can handle 40+ patients a day all by himself and the waiting was 45 mins max. read more

Went in for about an hour long visit, and when I got my bill, I was hit with an insane bill of over $400 which they never communicated to me for an "Office visit". Customer service said it's their right to charge whatever they want. Don't go here if you don't want to be swindled with a ridiculous bill a couple weeks after the fact. I have been to this urgent care twice and it is okay, but has some issues. They are very inefficient with their time - the first time I came here I waited for 4.5 hours. There were 4 other people there too, but we all arrived when the doors opened so I know there weren't more people in the back. Eventually they told us that they only had one doctor working. It was a regular week day during normal business hours. Very odd time to have only one doc working. Also the doctor spent about 5 mins with me when I was finally seen so it's not like they were spending an hour with each patient. The receptionists are also super unfriendly. When you walk in they just stare at you and wait for you to say something and then they barely respond. It's awkward. They also ask you what's wrong and why you want to see the doctor in the middle of everyone. Not really a big deal but healthcare is supposed to be private and it's kind of annoying to have to announce to the room why you're there and then they call out how much your copay is. Just feels like there should be more privacy. When you do see the doctor it's fine. read more

I went here for STD testing. In the past, I was always able to walk into Planned Parenthood and get an STD test for a copay. I have Blue Cross insurance, aka, good insurance. So I figured it would be the same here. I walk in and they take my $40 copay. They ask me what I'm there for; I tell them. When I get into the exam room, they tell me they can't test me for STD's because I am not showing any symptoms, even though I had very good reason to believe I had been exposed, without an enormous fee. I ask them why they didn't tell me this at the front desk. The nurse acted somewhat concerned, left the room, talked to somebody, then came back and told me "okay, fine, you were exposed to a high risk individual, we can test you." They tell me to pee in the cup, etc. No HIV test. After I do so I go back to exam room 4, only to find another provider and another patient in there! They moved me, inexplicably, to exam room 1, and did not tell me. I felt AWFUL to have walked in on another patient. HIPAA violation anyone?! In exam room 1, the NP told me that post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) was a "judgment call" and that I could go to the emergency room to get it. Fast forward a week, I get my test results. They just did basic urinalysis! No STD tests whatsoever. They lied to me, wasted my time, wasted my money, wasted the insurance company's money, exposed a patient to a complete stranger. What galls me the most is a) they lied to my face and b) they did not tell me my exam room had been changed. DO NOT GO HERE. THEY ARE CON ARTISTS. read more
