Had a horrible experience at an Urgent Care in Quarry Walk Oxford Ct the other day on 7/23/24…read more Date 7/23/24 place is horrible avoid at all Costs second go round with horrible service and wait times. Had not felt well tired one day / low grade fever next day went away with Tylenol. Following day on 7/23/24 felt fine till about 4 pm got chills couldn't catch my breath. Now I usually ALWAYS GO TO Physcian one urgent care 900 Main St S building 2 suite 100, Southbury, CT 06488 not far away but when your sick like this without an appt and saving 15-20 minute drive I booked what I thought was an appt here in Oxford. You will see on my review after this the theme on these reviews . Make an appt for 615 pm tells you arrive 15 minutes early I do that. Now I'm hoping it's only COVID as I have a suppressed immune system from a recent kidney transplant as well as a removal of both my original kidneys. Now I'm pretty sure I have a fever I have chills I can't breathe and I'm cold. Check in app shows me 1 person in appt line 3 walk ins. Woman at desk tells me sit in the waiting area. I tell her I would rather not with my immune system and god knows what everyone else might have as the small child by the door poor kid had either really bad crib cough or bronchitis and they were from out of state so 5-6 people are waiting The receptionist told me that I needed to wait in room because if they called my name and I missed it they would move on. I asked for other options after checking in and paying my copay. She told me I could not go to my car they would not call or text me but if I chose I could stand outside on the sidewalk and look into room. I said fine if you hear them call my name please wave to me I will come back in as I was wearing a mask already . Three different groups walked out a woman walking in asked me if I was okay as I was going on a 45 minute wait and a half hour past my appointment. Told her if she had an appointment she might still be waiting she said she was a walk in. A few minutes later I checked the app and 1 person still ahead of me with an appt but now only 2 walk ins. I go back to inquire at the reception desk woman tells me when I checked in that a person had already checked in prior regardless of there appointment time they had not been seen so far. Then I was told the people from out of state with the child was next then it would be my turn. I inquired about the walk in amount she told me the sometimes delays updates and I should be assured nobody took my time but the woman who inquired about how I felt was not in waiting room and had not walked out. With no specific timeframe for treatment I chose to cancel my appointment. Receptionist said that was fine she got up walked towards the back told me have a good day. I then asked for my co-pay to be returned and a receipt. She advised me she couldn't return my co-pay that she would let the office manager know who I have not heard from since. She gave me an attitude and I'm gonna say I was not happy and miserable and they gave no other option but to leave and leave I did. I went to southbury to physcian one as a walk in I was seen in less than 5 minutes seeing me in distress they got me into a room laid me down got me blanket and pillow as I was shivering uncontrollably. Took my vitals I had a fever instantly gave me Tylenol and tested me with a PCR test for Covid and flu and 15 minutes later Covid positive. They ordered meds and even though they had closed they let me stay in the room got me water and checked on me and let me stay until my meds were actually ready to be picked up. The staff helped me up and got me to my truck. IF YOU WANT TRUE CARE / DRIVE FOR THE EXTEA CARE AD A PATIENT YOU DEERVE AND AVOID THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU HAVE A SNIFFLE OR A HANGNAIL. Thanks to the staff in Southbury especially the PA Marc F.. the guy and staff are world Class! Easy access to make an appointment either online or thru app. Facility is very clean easy to get to with plenty of parking. They offer masks and water and snacks if so inclined. The staff are top notch the primary PA Marc F is phenomenal with over 20 years of ED experience the guy has seen everything and has the greatest demeanor even for us cranky Covid patients. The rest of the staff are very caring and do an excellent job keeping you informed and really caring for your health needs. My first stop prior to my PC who is quite a bit away but they always keep All your doctors informed with diagnosis and med changes so much so they saved my life once notifying my PC of a potential for infection and with proper follow up initiated by them I found out I was septic and admitted to the hospital. Can't ask for better services in a quiet safe environment beats any ED in CT

I went for some tests and the coding was wrong and insurance didnt pay and a Huge hassle to coordinate with them for correct coding so I didnt have to pay the $600. They never mentioned about insurance not covering otherwise I would not have gone through with it. Not going here again as this is the second time. Will be going to the CVS minute clinic.

While most Healthcare providers we know charge a lot and often receive poor reviews, this one has…read moresomething the others dont - Unqualified and unknowledgeable doctors. Add that to a corporation that doesn't care, and you HAVE TO AVOID. Went to Urgent Care, doctor looked one second at me, gave a diagnosis and recommended treatment, and sent a large bill. After 8 weeks of treatment, I went to a specialist who indicated that there was NO WAY any qualified doctor could give that diagnosis, as the ailment diagnosed could not possibly be caused by pain in the reported location. Complete malpractice and Misdiagnosis. Happily went to a real agency who provided proper treatment and care and months later I am better. But Hartford Heath could care less. I called and filed a complaint, with a reasonable request that I should not be paying a bill if the diagnosis was blatantly wrong, and they refused a refund without any appeals. You have a choice to who you go to. Your health is important. Why would anyone go to a place where doctor's don't have basic medical knowledge to make correct decisions to your health, and likewise if they do make a mistake, they refuse to stand behind their product. Fairfield can do better. Linda Thompkins, Patient Advocate, likewise should really change title to Hartford Healthcare Advocate, as she is ineffective.

They still offer the great quick service you were used to at the previous site. Whenever I have any issues and can't get to my general practice doctor I normally come here. The front desk staff was pleasant and I didn't have to wait long, probably the only positives of going here. I was taken back to a room and shortly after a female PA came in. She literally looked me in the face and said "I'm not sure what you came here expecting" as if I had hobbled into my dentists office and told them I'd hurt my knee. She didn't touch my knee once or do any sort of exam, just had one of the nurses take me for an x-ray (which showed nothing). Then when she returned with the results she said "you may have injured your meniscus." Again, this was done without doing any sort of exam whatsoever. She then told me she'd wrap it in an ace bandage and told me to try going to an orthopedist. The two minutes she took to wrap my knee was the extent of her coming within 5 feet of me! Wrapping my knee in an ace bandage was probably the worst thing for me because it only made the pain worse! I would have been better off taking my $75 co-pay and lighting it on fire instead of wasting my time here.

I waited more than two hours to see a doctor even though there were only two people ahead of me. My appointment itself took about three minutes. I really only needed to get a bad cold/cough checked out to make sure it wasn't turning into bronchitis (it's not, luckily) so it felt silly to wait so long for such a comparably minor ailment. Otherwise, it's fine and takes my insurance. This is my second visit and the only one that had such a ridiculously long wait time. Just wish staff were more communicative about how long it takes to see a doctor.
