I am 83. I said nothing was broken but he insisted. I hate hospital ERs so I went to Exer on Westwood Blvd. In West LA. Went there before for COVID and liked it. Intake was efficient and swift. Facilities are immaculate. Very little waiting. I was treated by Dr. Lunsford, who was great. Nice manner, very thorough, inspires confidence. He determined by manipulation that my hip was broken but prescribed x-rays for my back and coccyx. I had to go to Culver City location of Exer for that but no problem. They expected me, took my immediately and the whole process took less than 30 minutes. Within two hours I got a call from Dr. Lunsford telling me they were normal - no broken. But I was still in intense pain -a 9 on a scale of 10. Could barely shuffle along. Then, an hour later, the pain magically dissipated, down to a very tolerable level. This was because Dr. Lunsford had been smart enough to give me a heavy shot of Motrin. His nurse is so good I never felt the injection. Now I'm just waiting for the pulled muscle to heal, not a big deal. Exer gave me wonderful service.

The service provided by the nurse at this urgent care facility was terrible. After waiting for a…read morefull hour, I was sent away citing "insurance coverage issues" and told to go to an urgent care location elsewhere. While I suspect they were short-staffed that day, patients visit urgent care because they genuinely need a doctor, so I find this kind of treatment appalling. The experience left me worried that I might be turned away again if I visit while sick; if they aren't going to see me, I would appreciate being informed of that beforehand.

Do not come to this urgent care. I had an appointment at 2:30pm, wasn't seen until almost 2 hours…read morelater. The front desk woman kept telling me I only had one person ahead of me but then they took 3 people ahead of me. They tried to give me some excuse but it's just ridiculous to me to lie to a patient like that. If they would have been honest I would have gone somewhere else but they kept making me think I was next. I realize most urgent cares aren't actually urgent but what is the point in having an appointment if they're going to completely ignore it and prioritize others ahead of you.

One thing to note is the check-in process, which is slightly different. They use a remote check-in system where a staff member greets you on a screen. They handle your insurance and ID through this setup, which was unusual but efficient. After that, you wait to be seen by a doctor. Parking can be tricky since it's street parking with meters, but there's also the option to use the Trader Joe's underground parking nearby, which is convenient. Overall, the staff was friendly and professional, and the care I received was thorough. I'd recommend this place if you need urgent care. Bathroom code 3087

During my exam, Kenny used a type of dye that he dropped into my eye, then examined it with a blue light. He was able to see a small abrasion and assured me that with use of prescription ointment and eye drops, it would heal in a week. I have relied on Exer since it opened here in Westwood for my urgent care needs and I will continue to do so.

Your headache and nausea from hitting your head isn't a concussion because you didn't pass out". As someone who also works in the medical field this is entirely false and most people don't lose consciousness when they get a concussion but I was not about to sit there and argue. What tf? She was nice but so focused on the fact that I'm "young and obviously workout" so I must be fine, even though I was in a lot of pain with an obvious concussion. How much I exercise usually has nothing to do with the fact I was involved in accident that day? Update: Not only did other providers laugh when I told them what was said, I was immediately diagnosed with a concussion. Another urgent care laughed when I told them where I went the first time.

And to make matters more difficult, the drive into LA was long...and I had to use the bathroom...eek! As I walked to the busy food area, I walked passed the medical center and figured....they should have a bathroom. And they did! Solving my first problem and ready to eat, I was exiting but walked passed the busy in-house cafeteria. Wow was it busy! I was here...so I decided to check it out...and it was fantastic. There were many food stations and everything being made to order. Why walk down to the populated busy food area when there are wonderful options so close by! There were almost too many options...but I decided on the tostada salad. I got it loaded with beans, chicken, lettuce, cheese, olives, green onion, and pico...all on top of a baked shell. It was very delicious and as a combo, it came with a medium drink...which all totaled about eleven dollars. If I need to go to Pauley Pavilion again...I will stop here for sure!

I received a phone message from UCLA saying my Health Insurance denied my lung cancer surgery…read morescheduled for a week away. I called my Health Insurance and they said "nonsense, it had been approved weeks earlier" and I held the Willie Wonka golden ticket best coverage possible. UCLA never contacted me correcting their false information and it was hell living through this trying to get it corrected. On top of that: My letter to UCLA patient care: I was a patient at UCLA Reagan about 2 months ago. 16 gauge needles were incorrectly used, way over sized, improperly placed and could have caused nerve damage in my hand. If you disagree I have several seasoned, experienced RNs on hand that would gladly discuss this with you. They were horrified at my treatment, as were some UCLA hospital staff. Read that; some. After my surgery I awoke from anesthesia in recovery. No pain medication was available because the pharmacy was closed for lunch an hour then it would be another hour after it opened to fill the prescription. Think about having a lung resection and awaking to excruciating pain no relief. I reported these nightmares to UCLA Patient Care and no one is listening, no response. No supervision during these ordeals either. Days later Doctors approved my release and the staff forgot about me. Family waiting to take me home and I was lost in the system. Is anyone paying attention to patient care? You claim you listen and you care, in all sincerity I have heard nothing after reporting all this. I have a legitimate concern, and I am being ignored. Nurses say I was the best patient ever, so it's nothing triggering these horror experiences that I did.
